Narrative text is a form of text meant to amuse or entertain through telling a story involving actual or imagined experiences. Narratives involve a problematic event that leads to a crisis or turning point, which is then resolved. They follow an organization of orientation, complication, and resolution. The orientation introduces the characters. The complication develops the story's problem. The resolution solves the problem. An example story is provided about a mouse, frog, and hawk where the frog ties himself to the mouse and drags the mouse into the water, causing it to drown. A hawk then spots the dead mouse floating and carries it and the attached frog back to its nest to eat.
