 Samad Behrangi was an Azerbaijani teacher,
social critic, folklorist, translator and short
story writer.
 He is famous for his children’s books,
particularly THE LITTLE BLACK FISH.
Story theme
 The little black fish lives in a cool
mountain stream with her family and
friends.
 She is a curious and determined
young fish who appreciates her good
fortune but who feels a need to find
the sea.
 This story recounts the challenges,
adventures, dangers, and beauty that
she experienced on her journey.
PLOT
 Old fish speaking to her 12,000 children
and grandchildren. She describes the
journey of a small black fish who leaves the
safety of the local stream to venture into
the world.
 The path of the little fish leads down a
waterfall and along the length of the river to
the sea.
 With both wisdom and courage, the fish
travels far indeed, and the tale ends with
the little black fish as an example for

other by its evil tricks.
 Pelican kept all the tiny
fishes in its pouch
 With the smart plans of the
little fish all the fishes
managed too get out the
pouch.

 Once there was a little black fish who lived with
her mother in the small pond near the mountain.
 One night the idea pooped in the mind of the little
fish to see where the stream ends. Fish informed
the mother that “I'm tired of this swimming, I want
to set out and see what's happening elsewhere.”
 Mother blamed the snail for making her baby
make decisions, who was the friend of little fish.
 But still the little fish didn’t listen to its mother and
made her way to the stream.
 The little fish swam down the waterfall and fell into
a pond full of water. At first the fish lost its balance
but after a while began to swim and circled around
the pond.
 Fish met tadpoles and then their mothers , they
chattered then the fish moved towards the deeper
valley.
 On her way, fish met crab and informed it that I am
going to see the world, but was afraid by crab
,later realized that it was nice to the fish.

 Just then little fish met the large lizard which was
resting and asked about the pelicans ,swordfish,
heron.
 The lizard said that ”the pelican has a pouch
which holds a lot of water and it also holds fish in
it.”
 Then the lizard crawled into a crack in the rock
and returned with a very sharp dagger. The little
fish took the dagger.
 Lizard told the fish to cut the pouch with dragger.

where the baby fish happy aw the moon, and
was happy to see the moon and tell that I am
going to see the world.
 One next day the little fish get up and happy to
see that all the little fishes were around her.
 Suddenly the little fish and its fellow come to
know that they were stuck in the pouch of the
peilcan

the fish managed to get out of the pouch.
 fish realized the water had no bottom. There was
so much water that the little fish got lost in it.
 Suddenly, the fish noticed a large, long creature
moving towards he There was a two-edged sword
in front of its mouth. The little fish thought, "The
swordfish! He's going to cut me to pieces this very
instant!"

the way the fish met a school of fish-thousands
and accompanied them.
 Soon the fish splashed into the water and took a
new breath, the heron caught up and this time
swallowed the fish so fast
 Fish felt dark and wet ,but just then saw a baby
fish crying so the little fish helped it .
 Little fish tickle the heron and helped the tiny fish
to get out.
