Repentance is a privilege for several reasons: 1) It was first given to Jews and then to Gentiles as an essential part of the gospel message. 2) It is helpful for salvation and allows sins to be blotted out. 3) One should view repentance as being thankful to have a doctor rather than complaining about visiting one, and as being grateful for the time to repent rather than using time for selfish pleasures.
