Bible Lessons from the Chilean Mine Disaster
Help Must Come From Above We were without strength or hope (Romans 5:6-8; 8:3) Help was sent from above (1 John 4:9; John 8:23; 3:17)
After Those Above did all the Hard Work, Those Beneath Had to Cooperate Our Rescuer faced many challenges Our rescue is the result of intricate planning and incredible effort (Romans 3:25-26; Gen.3:15) Christ sweated blood at the prospect of it (Luke 22:41-44) Our part is relatively easy (Romans 10:6-11) We must get into Christ (Galatians 3:26-27)
The Rescued Must Cooperate Together We need each other (Ephesians 4:1-3; Philippians 1:27) We endure together (Hebrews 10:36) We behave like disciples of Christ (John 13:34-35)
There Was Light at the End of the Tunnel Jesus came as a light into a world of darkness (John 1:1-9) Only those who love the darkness would reject the light (John 3:19-21) He illuminates our way to God, and ultimately we will live in that light (Revelation 21:22-27; Matthew 13:43)
There Will Be a Great Reunion We will see Him as He is (1 John 3:1-3) We will enjoy a moment and then all eternity among saints with identities (Matthew 8:11-12)
