Photography was key in planning and constructing the documentary trailer. The author took location shots to help visualize ideas and generate new concepts. Photos were also used to get feedback and make decisions. Google images provided ideas for scenes and camera angles. Polls on the blog helped decide the title by gathering opinions from peers. Adobe Premiere Elements was used to edit video shots, and skills with the software and camera improved over the course of the project.

1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation?

3. Photography 2 This was one of the first location shots that I took, this is at a local church which is situated on top of a hill. I took this image as for one of scenes in my trailer a girl hangers herself, the thought that she was hanging herself in a graveyard helped create a airy feel. From me going out and taking photos of different locations it helped me get a feel for what I was doing. As this was one of the first shoots I did for the trailer it helped me come up with other ideas that would fit in with the mis en scene. I then went onto post this image on my blog and the feedback I got was very useful in helping me make decisions where I wanted to shoot other elements of the trailer.

4. Photography 3 Another element of photography that helped me was photography that had already be taken. These images were images that I got off the search engine ‘Google.’ These images helped me get ideas of what I wanted to do, where I wanted to do it. They have me a general idea of how the trailer could be shot. I tried to base my trailer around the mis en scene of the top picture which hindered me as I was so fixed on trying to find the right place in shooting that it slowed down the whole process of the recording of my trailer. But from other peoples photography through the internet it gave me ideas that I could therefore use and bring into my trailer. The bottom picture helped me think of different camera angles that I could use that would portray dominance and the struggle the that the character is going through.

7. This is an example of a poll that I used, this poll helped me decide a title for my film, as you can see from the total votes I had 12 different opinions. Overall poles are a great way to get opinion from fellow peers.
