The document summarizes the design choices for a film magazine cover and inside pages. For the cover, an iconic Star Wars character (R2D2) was chosen along with a background image from the film. 1. I chose to do a film magazine because young people love
watching good film. I chose to use R2D2 because he is an
iconic character of the film industry because he is from the
biggest franchise of movies in the world and most people
will recognize him. Therefore I thought he was the best
person to use for my front cover. I got this idea from
Empire the magazine company, because on all of their
magazines they have a well known character on the front
cover.
I decided to use this background because it is a well
known image from the film and fits in with the theme of
Star Wars. The audience will like the front cover because
the images link and they are from the same film. I thought
by using this background it would fit in with the theme of
iconic images. I got this idea from Total Film the magazine
company because they have a main character on the front
of them and they put a picture from the same film as the

2. The name of the magazine was hard to chose because I had so
many names in mind and I could only pick one. I had names such
as, lights camera action, movie reviews and many more.
However, I thought movie exploration was the best one because
it says exactly what this magazine will be doing, it will be
exploring films. I chose the font of the name by picking the one
that would catch your eye when its on the shelf. I added a little
headline line in saying " exclusive movie reviews inside" I thought
this would entice the audience because they will want to know
what other people are saying about old and new films.
I also added a skyline to entice the audience even more,
I thought if I added an upcoming film title at the top they
would be intrigued if they hadn't seen it they would be
excited to see what other people are saying about it. I also
changed the colors and brightness of R2D2 because it
makes him stand out even more because before he was
just plain and boring.

3. This is my final design for my front cover, I thought to make my
magazine stand out even more I would add some bright,
funky colors. I added a caption saying " free movie poster inside"
to make the viewer want to buy it because everything likes free
things. I even added the price in some bright colors because the
price in 20p which is very cheap for a magazine and anyone will
be able to afford it. The reason i chose to put bright colors behind
things is because it will stand out from any other magazine
and nothing else on the front cover has a bright color on so it will
catch the buyers eye. Many magazines use bright colors to flash
there free items so I copied.
I started my double page by making borders for my self to
make the page look good and to separate the two pages. I
chose this color because it give the page a bit more wow
than just having plain black borders. I got this idea from
many magazines by putting borders around to make it
stand out and to not have the writing to close to the edge.

4. After I sorted the borders out I chose what films to review for my double
page. I chose the films by researching peoples most liked films and i
looked at what had the most views and I put out a questionnaire to see
what genre people liked. So after a lot of research I chose, Star Wars,
The Greatest Showman, Beauty and the Beast, Maze Runner, La La
Land and We're The Millers. I chose a variety of genres from romance
to musicals to action and adventure and comedy.
After all of that I chose to write the movie reviews in the font of there
name, this way people will enjoy and like my magazine because they
will recognize the font from the title. I only chose to do 6 films on this
double page because if there was any more it would be to crammed
and if there was any less there would be lots of empty space to fill.
I didn't make the reviews to long simply because no one will want to
read a review that is a page long. I made them the right size to describe
what the film is like and how I felt about the film. On the bottom of the
page I added the page numbers and the date of what the magazine will
be released, I even added the name of the magazine so people will
keep getting reminded of what it is called so it will be stuck in there
