idea.
Ex. Tom is going to play.
Fragment
A fragment is a group
of words that does not
express a complete
thought or idea.
Ex. Around the corner.
There are four types of
sentences
Declarative
Exclamatory
Interrogative
Imperative
Declarative
A declarative sentence
is a sentence that
makes a statement
Ex. Kemeisha is a
student at Knox college
high school.
Exclamatory
An exclamatory sentence is
a sentence that is said with
strong feeling or emotions.
(Always ends with an
exclamation mark)
Ex. What a shame!
Interrogative
An interrogative sentence is
a sentence that ask a
question and always end
with a question mark.
Ex. Are you going to the
party?
Imperative
An imperative sentence
is a sentence that is a
command.
Ex. Go to your room
young lady.
