2. Declarative Sentence
A declarative sentence is a sentence that makes a statement. This kind of
sentence used to share information it can be opinion or a fact and it ends
with a period (.).
Example:
The dog in my neighbour’s house is
barking.
3. Imperative Sentence
An imperative sentence is a type of sentence that expresses a command, an order
or a request. Imperative sentence may end with a period (.) or an exclamation
point (!).
Example:
o “Please, wash your hands before you eat.”
o “Be quiet and behave, please.”
4. Interrogative Sentence
An interrogative sentence is a sentence that asks a question, as opposed to
sentence that make a statement. This type of sentence often begins with what,
where, when, whom, who, how, and why. Interrogative sentence ends with a
question mark (?).
Example:
o Where are you going?
o When is the birthday of your younger sister?
o Why do birds suddenly appear?
5. Exclamatory Sentence
An exclamatory sentence is a sentence that expresses strong emotions and feelings
such as anger, happiness, excitement, and surprises and it ends with an
exclamation point (!).
Example:
o We won the game!
o I am so mad at her!
o You really came back for us!

conversation either personal experiences or not by using the
four types of sentences and make sure the correct punctuation
marks.
