Federico García Lorca was born in 1898 in Granada, Spain. He published his first book, "Impressions and Landscapes" in 1918. In the early 1920s, he published his first book of poems and staged his puppet comedy "The Girl Who Waters Basil and Prince questioner". Between 1921-1924, he released two books of songs and poems titled "Songs" and "Poema del Cante Jondo". Lorca went to New York City in 1929. One of his most famous works is the poetry collection "The Gypsy Ballads" published in 1928.
