ExecutiveEdge closed out the day with a session on preparing your
business for the future, which included talks on transforming the
economics of IT and services for enterprise-level hybrid IT.
Developments in Flash memory and the new POWER8 are two examples
of high-end technology that’s available at a low TCO to enterprises today.
Cal Braunstein, CEO, Robert Frances Group, said the speed of
technological change shouldn’t lead to decreasing investment in
key components. When planning to invest in infrastructure, he said,
spending a little more in the short run pays off with a more efficient
stack and technology that makes an enterprise more competitive.
