POSTING GRADES – SKYWARD

NOTE: SKYWARD DOES NOT ROUND ANY GRADES.
 • Please check to see if you want to make any changes to students’ letter grades before posting.
o If you do want to make changes, see “grade adjustments” below.
o If you don’t want to make any changes, go to “academic grades and effort grades”.

                                         GRADE ADJUSTMENTS-
1) Login to skyward and select Gradebook
2) Select the class the student is in
3) Find the blue column that says T1 (or whatever grading period) OPTIONS. (Options is a drop down menu)
4) Select “enter T1 (or whatever grading period) grade adjustments”
5) You may put in the new letter grade in the first column or the amount you want the percent to increase to.
   • For example Johnny has an 88.9% B+. You can put an A- in column 1 or 1.1 in column 2 to get him to a
90% A-. (I recommend using the letter grade adjustment unless you want a specific percent for Johnny)
6) Select “save” and this will take you back into gradebook.

QUARTER ACADEMIC GRADES and EFFORT GRADES-
1) Login to skyward and select Gradebook
2) Select class that you want to “post grades” for
3) Choose the tab that says “Post Grade”
4) Find the current term (for example: term 1) (When the window is open, the current term will be first in the
     list.)
5) On the right corner, in blue, it will say display class (closed window) or Post grades (open window)
depending if the window is open or not.
6) Click post grades.
7) You will see that all academic grades have been transferred. You may select save now and enter effort
grades and comments later or you may enter effort grades/comments now and then save.
     • The default blanks to:____ is useful if you are giving many students the same effort grade or comment.
     • For example, you could select an A for effort. This will fill in everyone’s effort as an A and then you
may change the one’s that are different.
     • If you choose to enter comments or effort grades later, follow these same steps OR use the steps listed
         under giving an incomplete.
8) After hitting save, it will take you back to the “posting” screen. Click the back button.
9) Repeat steps for all classes.

NOTE: If you change any grades, you MUST repost to the office. You may
re-post (until the window closes) as many times as needed.
                                                 Final Grades
1) For scholastic grades, go under S/F and select “setup final S/F grade calculations”.
2) Select “weighted term grades” and enter 25 for each quarter (or 50 if a semester class) so that each quarter is
one-fourth of the year long classes grades.
3) Skyward calculates all scholastic final grades for you.
4) *** If a student wasn’t in your class all year, follow giving an incomplete steps and enter the grade they
   earned.
5) For final effort grades go under the E/F options column and select enter final exam E/F scores.
6) At the top, enter 100 as the maximum score. Then enter a number (percent) that a student earned for effort.
The computer will translate this grade to a letter grade.
                                                                                      OVER →
GIVING AN INCOMPLETE-
This must be done after all grades have been posted for that class, otherwise the letter grade in skyward will
post over your incomplete. If you re-post, you must re-enter incompletes.
1) In the gradebook, choose the other access tab (far left).
2) Select “report card posting”
3) Change the grade to an “I” for any student you want to give an incomplete to.
4) Repeat for all classes, as needed.

PRINTING GRADE REPORT SHEETS (VERIFICATION SHEETS) FOR YOUR RECORDS-
1) In the gradebook, under reports, select grade proof sheet. (last one listed)
2) Highlight report 910 (this gives current term effort grade, academic grade, and comments for your students)
   OR
3) Highlight report 900 (this gives all terms effort grades, academic grades, and comments for all grading
   periods)
4) You may print each class individually or all classes at once.
   • For just the class you are in, select print. Once the report is queued, select print from the top menu.
     Repeat this for each class.
   • For all classes at once, (wait until you have posted all grades), select different classes on the lower right.
Check the classes you want reports printed for. Select print. Once the reports are queued, select print
     from the top menu.

                               PRINTING GRADE-SHEET REPORTS

   • For all classes at once, (wait until you have posted all grades), select different classes on the lower right.
Check the classes you want reports printed for. Select print. Once the reports are queued, select print
     from the top menu.

To get these reports for terms in which the window has already closed, you need to create a new template.
(you can do it)
1. In the gradebook, under reports, select grade sheet report.
2. Select add a new template.
3. Name it something meaningful so you know what this report is next time. Click save.
