Easy Grade Pro 101

  1. 1. <ul><li>This lesson should guide all first time users through selected main features of EGP and empower them in using this program right away. </li></ul>
  2. 2. <ul><li>Go and connect to the OSX1 server </li></ul><ul><li>Choose Shared and follow to folder Employees </li></ul><ul><li>Find and open the Easy Grade Pro folder </li></ul><ul><li>Drag the pre-set EGP grade book 2008-2009 to your laptop </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Classes are marked A – F in both Fall and Spring semesters </li></ul><ul><li>Each class has a calendar set up (in case you wish to take attendance in EGP, although some block’s calendars are inaccurate due to the winter schedule change) </li></ul><ul><li>Default grade scale is updated to NHS standards </li></ul><ul><li>Classes are color-coded  </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Follow the guide and select “Type Students Names” </li></ul><ul><li>Feel free to use the “Custom data” I pre-set or choose your own. </li></ul>
  5. 6. <ul><li>Choose “Class Options” icon from the tool bar and open the “Category” tab </li></ul><ul><li>Now you can activate “Category Weighting”, edit “Category Name” and “Weight” </li></ul><ul><li>For each category you can choose a Grade Scale – for details check the “Grade” tab. (The default is identical with NHS grade scale in % and you will also have an option to set a special grade scale later). </li></ul>
  6. 7. <ul><li>Click the “ADD ASSIGNMENT” and type in the Name {…Quiz 1.3…} </li></ul><ul><li>Choose Category (pull down menu will show all categories you pre-defined in step II.) </li></ul><ul><li>Set due date on the calendar. </li></ul>
  7. 8. <ul><li>“ Maximum Score” allows you the freedom of grading assignments (for example) by number of correct answers and calculates the percent grade for you. </li></ul><ul><li>Example: </li></ul><ul><li>When the perfect score on a homework assignment would be 37, I can specify this in the “Max. Score” space and than just input the raw scores {25, 36, 29 etc.} for each student. </li></ul><ul><li>Weight of each assignment within a given category can be specified by using “Points” </li></ul><ul><li>Example: </li></ul><ul><li>When each lesson quiz should have double the value of each vocab. quiz and half the value of each chapter test, but all fall into the category “Test & Quiz”, you can assign </li></ul><ul><li>50 points to vocabulary quizzes </li></ul><ul><li>100 points to regular quizzes </li></ul><ul><li>200 points to chapter tests </li></ul>
  8. 9. <ul><li>Inputting grades and scores/special scores </li></ul><ul><li>Typing percent score {0-100+ for each student on each assignment} </li></ul><ul><li>“ Grade Clicks” from display {the row below class name which based on your choice might include both, grades and special scores} </li></ul><ul><li>Shortcuts {refer to predefined shortcuts below} </li></ul><ul><li>Defining the value and significance of special scores </li></ul><ul><li>To view and/or define special scores, click “Class Options” icon </li></ul><ul><li>Open the “Score” tab and decide if you need to define special scores different from the menu. </li></ul><ul><li>Please note that with the setting above students do not receive a 0% on an assignment which is incomplete or for which they were absent, but both these cases will be marked on their progress reports. Feel free to change that by simple editing. </li></ul>
  9. 10. <ul><li>To filter what you can see on your screen : </li></ul><ul><li>check out all the arrow icons </li></ul><ul><li>To name/re-name your class: </li></ul><ul><li>Click the “Records” icon </li></ul><ul><li>Select “Class” tab </li></ul><ul><li>Edit “Class/Subject Name” </li></ul><ul><li>To print students progress report sheet : </li></ul><ul><li>Click the “Print” icon </li></ul><ul><li>Select “Student Progress” from the “Records” pull down menu </li></ul><ul><li>Select students from the “List” tab </li></ul><ul><li>Select what you want to print on the report from the “Options” tab </li></ul><ul><li>To copy assignments, options and students between classes and terms use the “Copy Class Data” icon </li></ul><ul><li>To combine grades from both semesters for the year final grade </li></ul><ul><li>Choose “Tool” – “Term Tools” – “Combine Terms” </li></ul>
