Postmodernism is a late 20th century movement that departed from modernism. It includes culture, literature, art, philosophy and other fields. Postmodernism reacted against tendencies in modernism and is typically marked by a revival of historical elements and techniques. Some key characteristics of postmodernism include rejecting the idea of absolute truth, disillusionment with traditional authority, and a view that morality is personal rather than universal.
