Speech On Fashion Designer Handbags
Selecting Fashion Designer Handbags To Enhance Your Beauty
When you have a vital arrangement, how would you finish your outfit? Possibly with a fine
arrangement of gems? A couple of designer shoes? What about a bag? Obviously, no lady of
fashion will ever go out without a bag or purse to contain some of her own assets. There is a
purse to run with any outfit that a lady may wear. A purse is, by a wide margin, the handiest frill
at any point used by ladies without leaving fashion. Truly, fashion designer handbags really exist
to serve distinctive capacities for ladies. Regardless of whether the issue is a straightforward day
time event, formal night party, or whatever other easygoing issue, there is the sort of bag that will
suit every occasion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some come inexpensively labeled while others are to a great degree costly. However, what is
this fever over stylish designer handbags? Why are ladies of any age going gaga over these
things? They have captivated ladies of all kinds of different backgrounds, and a considerable lot of
these ladies don t scrutinize the cost. Unquestionably, there couldn t be a distinction so critical that
it would legitimize spending such a great amount on such a thing!
Designer handbags are, in truth, the same as whatever other sort of tote. Costly or not, they are
altogether made essentially to hold a lady s belonging, for example, her driving permit, lipstick,
cosmetics, cash, and so on.
The truth is that a designer name has an inseparable tie to the fever over designer handbags.
Carrying a designer tote around is to a great degree fulfilling for a few ladies; it makes them feel
that they have entered the universe of designer fashion. Designer names are a wellspring of pride
for some ladies since they realize that their bag was fashioned by some scandalous fashion designer
who has the nerve to tag the pack with a madly high sticker

Athletic Performance Enhancing Drugs In Sports
Athletes from all over the world use athletic performance enhancing drugs to boost their
performance for various reasons. The highest level of sports, the Olympic Games, is the pinnacle
for athletes around the world, so the prospect of winning a medal at the games can inspire
cheating. Virtually every athlete s dream is to become an Olympic gold medalist so doping
surrounds the Olympic Games. Olympic sports go further than the measure of athletic brilliance
and dominance. Sports on a global spectrum are about more than winning trophies and medals;
they are an important part of social culture and they enhance our everyday lives. The present day
global sports industry is worth several hundred billion, so it makes up a huge part of global
civilization... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many scholars are certain that the decision to dope comes from an internal battle between the
desire to win and the ethical decision to stay true to the rules of good, clean sport. Most athletes
let their desire for glory outweigh their moral obligations. To those athletes, doping is determined
by individual mental factors. Other athletes dope for reasons such as quicker recovery, pain
management, career longevity, and so on. According to the article, why we should allow
performance enhancing drugs in sport, the author Julian Savulescu explains how doping is now an
everyday part of sports due to the rise of risks and recompenses in Olympic sports. Savulescu
expounds, Elite athletes can earn tens of millions of dollars every year from prize money alone, and
millions more in endorsements (Savulescu 2004). With the temptation of success growing, and the
consequences of cheating being miniscule, it is understandable why doping is

The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery And The Los...
West Los Angeles is home to two prominent cemeteries: the Westwood Village Memorial Park
Cemetery and the Los Angeles National Cemetery. The Westwood Cemetery was constructed in
1905, serving as the rest place for many famous individuals within the entertainment industry.
Famous names such as Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Natalie Wood, Roy Orbison, and Jack
Lemmon are buried at this gravesite. Nearly less than a mile away from this cemeteryis the Los
Angeles National Cemetery. Established in 1889, this national cemetery is home to many members
of the armed forces who have actively served in the military and/or law enforcement. These two
distinct cemeteries may only appear to share relativity through their short distance, but they also
symbolize many cultural aspects of the American ideology. The Westwood Village Memorial Park
Cemetery and the Veterans Cemetery reinforces American societal conformities and ideals by
perpetuating the idea of gender bias, displaying extreme idolization of celebrity status, and
imprinting religious affiliation. Through tombstone appearance, cultural imprints on the
tombstones, and categorization of the tombstones, both cemeteries embody contemporary
American and Los Angeles culture.
The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery contains some of the most prominent figures in
Hollywood. In addition, the cemetery is the burial site of many common individuals. In comparison
to the Veterans Cemetery, the Westwood village Cemetery is extremely small

The Omaha Indian Tribes
The Omaha Indian tribes were settled in many different places. They were known as the
Midwestern Native American tribe. They settled in present day places such as northeast Nebraska
and northwest Iowa near the Missouri River. They also were settled in present day northeast
Nebraska. Many other tribes were settled in Nebraskasuch as the Cheyenne, Arapaho, Pawnee,
Ponca, Otoe, Kansa, Yankon and Dakota Sioux, and the Lakota Sioux tribes. The Omaha Indians
main reservations remain in present day Nebraska in Thurston and Cuming county. The total land
area that the Omaha Indians had was about 307 square miles. The city, Omaha, is the largest city in
Nebraska and is named after them. Although the Omaha Indian tribe did not have a lot of land like
many other tribes, they still were a well functioning tribe.
The Omaha tribe had a unique culture in which many people were involved and many traditions
were celebrated. The Omaha tribe often lived in settled villages of round earthen lodges in the
winter and fall. In the spring and summer, the Omaha families were able to move from camp to
camp as they followed buffalo herds. When these Omaha families moved from place to place they
would live in teepees, or tents, that would hide them from the buffalo. Within these households
everyone had responsibilities. Omaha men were hunters and they often went to war to protect their
families. The Omaha women were farmers and they also built and transported teepees. Most

Bronze Coins Essay
Archaeologists have discovered nine 1,400 year old bronze coins that may have been hidden by
Christians trying to escape Persian invaders on a highway leading to Jerusalem in Israel. In June,
the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) conducted an archaeological dig ahead of a widening
project for Highway 1 situated between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The scientists found a two story
structure, a winepress, and nine bronze coins that ate back to the 7th century C.E., Haaretz details.
The archaeologists think that the ancient coins belonged to Christians who hid them as they were
trying to flee Persians who invaded Israel in 614 C.E. In the course of time, the place where the
stash was found was abandoned and disappeared into the agricultural site.... Show more content on

It seems that during a time of danger the owner of the hoard placed the coins in a cloth purse that
he concealed inside a hidden niche in the wall. He probably hoped to go back and collect it. The
coins bear images of Byzantine emperors Justinian, Maurice, and Phocas. These images helped
the archaeologists date the coins. Earlier this month, Live Science published a story on the
discovery of a huge ancient burial chamber which is estimated to be more than 4,000 years old.
Archaeologists with Israel s Tel Hai College found a 65 foot wide tomb known as a dolmen at
Kibbutz Shamir in Israel. According to study leader Gonen Sharon, the megalithic tomb is an
indication that people who lived during the Dark Ages could have been part of an organized

One of the biggest computer crimes is Distributed Denial of Service attacks (DDoS) defined as
techniques or actions involving the use of one or more damaged computers to damage another
computer or a targeted computer system in order to shut the computer or computer system
down and deny the service of the damaged computer or computer systems to legitimate users by
the Arkansas code. These DDoS attacks are one way attack someone by affecting their computer
network. DDoS attacks send a message to the people running the network that they can be
affected, many people use DDoS attacks to make a political statement. One recent DDoS attack
against the Luxembourg government was made in late February of this year According to
reports from the Luxemburger Wort, the attack started at 9.30 am, forcing the web servers of
many state authorities offline or difficult to reach. Just over an hour later, the state owned IT
operator Centre des Techniques de l information de l Etat (CTIE) sent a message via Twitter, to
confirm that the network was the victim of a DDoS attack (Millman, 2017) there cannot be a sure
reason for the attack but these types of attacks are used in a political context to protest the actions
of that nation. Computer crime can be more than just for money it can be a political statement, a

Comparing The Story Of The Old Testament And The New...
Utilizing the understanding of the later definition make is extremely easier to incorporate the
narrative of the Old Testament and the New Testament into one chronicle event moving along the
time line to teach and understand the mission of the church. It follows the events of knowing the
story and where the church came from and where it is headed. Clearly the church is not complete
as Jesushas not returned so the work is still on going. The story continues to be written. Christians
today, just as the Jewish people did back during the times of the Old Testament, need to know the
story and to do that we need to know the scriptures.
The question comes down to how the Old Testament and the New Testament would be formed into
one narrative to accomplish the goal of enhancing the understanding of the mission of the church.
To accomplish this task, I believe Christopher Wright, in his book, summarized the task very well.
If one looks at the Bible from an actual story line the flow from one Testament to the other does
exactly that; it flows. The Old Testament points to the New Testament and the New Testament
builds upon the Old Testament.
The four major sections of the biblical story are Creation, Fall, Redemption in History, and New
Creation . If people begin to think in terms of the Biblical story from Genesis through Revelation
and the realization that the story is not over, it will be simpler to understand how all the time eras
in the Bible relate to each other and

Essay On Attractiveness Of Jaguar
An analysis of the attractiveness of the luxury car industry with respect to Jaguar, based on Porter
s Model of The Five Forces of Competition.
Although India is a developing country, in the last few years due to economic crises, the country
has been facing numerous challenges. Despite the situation, very recently it has been
acknowledged that the Indian market has seen as increase in the demand for luxury items
specially Luxury Cars. Another fact to be considered is that the demand of such cars is not only
increased in Tier I cities but also in Tier II and Tier III cities. In view of this shift in buying
preferences, global luxury car brands like BMW, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and
Lamborghini and others now have their eye on Indian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most significant barriers comprises the brand equityenjoyed by most established brands.
The repute of the brand is extremely important to customers; luxury brands such as Jaguar,
Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have a long and magnificent history to boast about, and the
companies work hard to preserve the association between them and other symbols of individuality
and of top notch quality and performance.
Although several Asian companies have developed new luxury brands to compete with the
traditional European and American brands, it is extremely difficult for challengers to match the
prestige of brands with years of history.
Another challenging barrier to entry is the huge initial investment required to enter car markets in
general. Large amounts of capital are required to set up manufacturing facilities and invest in R
D, among other large expenses. This also creates large sunk costs and makes it hard to achieve
economies of scale. The capital requirements are one of the main reasons why new luxury brands
have been produced by companies which were already present in the market as large car
manufacturers (Toyota s Lexus and Nissan s Infiniti) and not by new, free standing,

Motor Vehicle Accidents And Economic Stress
Motor Vehicle Accidents and Economic Stress In today s society, motor vehicle accidents can
cause serious economic stress on the average U.S. citizen. In America today, the average legal
driving age can start out at the age of eighteen. Unless those new drivers have had plenty of time
behind the wheel, they are subject to a higher risk of a motor vehicle accident that could result in
economic stress. Economic stress can come in all varieties. It can range from an influx in
vehicle insurance premiums and medical bills to the physiological stress of losing a vehicle in a
multi vehicle homestead; as well as the stress that can come from ones career or workplace. With
the economic state of America, an influx in insurance premiums and payments can seriously hit
the pocket. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading causes of traumatic injuries worldwide
(Diedericks 2). Motor vehicle accidents can cause traumatic stress, severe injury, and can even
cause serious debt. If the average U.S. citizen were to better understand what a motor vehicle
accident is and understand the leading causes of those motor vehicle, it would help in mitigating
the volume of accidents and economic stress. What is a motor vehicle accident? Many would use
this terminology of accident to not come across as harsh as others would take words like collision
or incident (Dennis). The term collision is used to define objects that come together with solid
impact (Dennis). An accident is defined as a sequence of

Gay Latino History Horacio Ramirez Summary
Gay Latino History by Horacio Roque Ramirez
The AIDS epidemic has become an impacting plague that has expanded across multiple countries
as well as communities. As it continues its identity as a gay mans disease, its stigma generates a
negative connotation that has appealed to figures who are seen as second class individuals. In the
essay Gay Latino Histories/ Dying to be remembered: AIDS obituaries, public memory and the

came across homosexual latinos as they died in silence from AIDS. His argument is established

Ramirez belived that it was an important matter for homosexuals to not be ashamed of being
affected with the disease as well as keeping quiet in order to avoid judgment and ridicule. Silence
had already made its presence known within the history of latino homosexuals as he refers to it
as the latino album of the dead for ten years. (Ramirez, 104). By talking about AIDS and
conveying the issue to the public, it was an easier way to speak about the disease openly.
According to Ramirez, this would be a step in a better direction as people could make reference of
the existence of queer latinos through their obituaries that were published in the newspapers
through the Bay Area Reporter. As some obituaries mentioned queer latinos deathfrom AIDS as
well as their sexual preference, Ramirez makes account of some of the obituaries masking the
disease as there was mention made to other illnesses. He states that it was often a tactical use of
code words and phrases such as cancer , pneumonia , unknown causes , or long term illnesses that
signaled yet obfuscated AIDS related death. (Ramirez, 106). This pointed out the act of giving
queers a bad name which is what the loved ones of the deceased did not want to happen. By the

Utilitarianism, Deontology, And Virtue Ethics
Initially, my understanding of ethics was merely to determine what is right and wrong in certain
situations. Although, after learning about Utilitarianism, Deontology, and Virtue Ethics, I have
realized that certain characteristics of each play a role in determining what ethics truly are.
Utilitarianism characterizes the definition of ethics, by making all choices have the greatest positive
impact, while minimizing the risk. Deontology on the other hand would rather we not get involved
because there is never a justifiable means to an end. Finally, there is virtue ethics, which would
have us aspires to have certain characteristics that we hold above all others. Let s further expand
on what Utilitarianism means and how it affects ethics. Utilitarianism focuses on actions that
will appeal to the greater good, while causing the least amount of harm. When in respect too
many superheroes, they seem to have a mixed set of ethics. In White and Arp s Batman and
Philosophy, they discuss why Batman has decided not to kill the Joker, even though time after
time the Joker has proven himself to be a menace (2008, p.5 6). What it boils down to, is that
Bruce doesn t want to stoop to the level of the criminals he has sworn to protect the city from,
which could be the answer of what a Deontologist would say on this matter. On the other hand, a
utilitarian would want to kill the Joker, as it would save countless lives that would be in danger
otherwise. This showcases how Batman could save

Taxes On Land And Property Essay
Taxes on land and property have both fiscal and non fiscal effects. The revenue such taxes produce
is often an important source of finance for local governments. The extent to which those
governments have control over property taxes is thus often an important determinant of the extent
to which they are able to make autonomous expenditure decisions. The level, design, and control of
property taxationare thus, in many countries, critical elements in effective decentralization policy.
But property taxes are not always local taxes, and whether they are or are not local, like all taxes
they must also be considered from a more general policy perspective. From this perspective,
property taxes may be viewed, depending upon one s assumptions, the environment in which they
are applied, and their design and effectiveness, as an equitable and efficient way of raising
revenue or they may be considered to be a regressive and undesirable form of public finance.
A large number of studies have shown that;
1. Property taxes are generally heavier on non residential (and especially commercial) properties
than on residential (single family) homes.
2. When there is considerable local discretion with respect to property taxes, there are also likely to
be great differences in effective tax rates.
In the instant case, we will discuss the system of taxation on the returns on property holding as
prevalent in the USA and evaluate its effect on, equity, housing prices, and the economy.
2. Capital

Many parents use this term to get their child to do specific things. For example, a parent can say,
Eat your vegetables or the () will come get you in your sleep. For this example, this forces the
child to eat their vegetables because they re scared that someone or something will come get them.
They don t know what will get them, but they know something will. At a certain age, their

The Iroquois Creation Myth
ExegesisMany Native Americans tell stories of the creation of earth that explain how they came to
be before the Europeans entered North America. Creation myths vary among all cultures; however,
they all have one thing in common; heaven and earth. One of the most popular creation myths was
the Iroquois creation myth. The Iroquois or Haudenosaunee meaning People of the Longhouse
(Iroquois Indian Museum, n.d.) consists of six Indian nations that include the Mohawk, Oneida,
Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora tribes. In the beginning, there was a belief that before

the animals, Sky Woman would have died and the creation of earth would not exist. The twins
play a significant role among the Iroquois that the good and evil are necessary for the world to

females in which guarantees new life will be born (Olan, n.d.). The myth signifies the Native
American belief of how the creation and reincarnation of humans connects to the rise and fall of the

United States History And Coach High School Football Essay
I ve spent the last few years under the impression people make too big of a deal of coming out
when their sexuality differs from the social norm. It s something that people tend to over represent
and kind of force onto others too often, making it slightly overbearing for those who view it
differently from members of the LGBTcommunity and their supporters. At the end of the day
though, it s a matter of both self acceptance for those who struggle with their sexuality, and
representation to help make it a less daunting and intimidating thing to be open about being
different.
I m gay. I didn t want to be for a long time, but what I ve come to realize is that there s no reason
for me to dislike who I am. I m an intelligent, compassionate young man. I m funny (at times) and
have ambitions and goals. I want to teach United States history and coach high school football. I
want to help educate the future generations of this country. I ve worked full time factory jobs,
minimum wage part time jobs, and most of what s in between. I enjoy sports, eSports (which I
someday hope I don t have to distinguish from sports, but that s a conversation for another time)
and spending time with my friends. I am a perfectly normal, wonderful human being... and I am gay.
I come from a devoutly conservative family in every imaginable way. In my family, LGBT s are
people that can be fixed if you just pray the gay away and get right with Jesus. I have no

The Azuay stub foot toad, native to South America and thought to be extinct, was recently found to
be extant in Ecuadorian Mountain Forests. The species, which was once predicted to be abundant,
was thought to have been extinguished mainly in part by the chytid fungus, a fungus which is
decreasing the population of many other amphibian species as well. According to the information
provided by the article, the Azuay is not the first to be re found after thought extinction. Scientists
are still unsure about the species survival however, in which conservation methods will be needed.

What I found most interesting about the article was how different the Montsechia vidalii is from
the flowers we know today. Although the plant does bear resemblance to some plants today, many
aspects of the plant have evolved overtime. For example, the plants had genders, and did not have
petals. This is sets it apart from today s plants, and also shows how 130 million years of evolution
can both do a great amount, but at the same time a small amount. Although the changes are
somewhat large, such as the removal of, they are tiny in comparison to other evolutionary changes,
which could have taken even longer. Questions:
How much does the Montsechia vidalii resembler, the coontail, resemble the original flower?
How were the scientists able to confirm that the plant had different genders?
How were the seeds of the flower spread from lake to lake? Was it the work of a

Benefits of Technology Incorporation into a Classroom Setting
Today, our society is more technologically advanced than it has ever been, and our schools have
become more technologically progressive over the past few years, but does having technology in
the classroom help or hinder the students from learning? A quote by John Dewey from his book
Democracy and Education stated If we teach today s students as we taught yesterday s, we rob them
of tomorrow. Integrating technologyinto classrooms is not only essential in preparing the students
for the future, but it is also an effective teaching method. Many surveys and studies have been
done about using technology to teach students. Even as early as 6 years old to college level and

non test days for note taking and the penalty of a reduced participation if the technology proves
distracting to the student or his/her peers (Jackson). Another way to ensure that the students are not
misusing the technology is for the teachers to teach the students how to get the most out of it. Most
devices can be connected to the internet and there are almost an infinite number of things that you
can do, see, and use while on there, but if the students spend their time doing assignments, projects

Symbolism and the Concious and Uncounsius Mind in The...
Symbolism has a powerful effect on both the conscious and unconscious mind. Conspicuous
symbolism engages the conscious mind making one think about the many clever connections the
author has made. Symbolism of the more subtle variety can have just as much of an effect on the
reader; even though the reader may miss an intentional connection made by the author, they are
likely to detect it subliminally. This can have a profound impact on the readers understanding and
impression of a work. In his novelThe Assault, a novel about the consequences of a particular
dramatic event that occurred during World War II where the main character s house was

motherly wisdom of Truus. Anton strengthens Truus s assertion by commenting on the antithesis,
But if that s the case, then ... then no one s ever at fault. Then everyone can just do as they

introduced as having come in from the night from the chaos of a riot. This emphasizes his
disorganized mind as he tries to explain to Anton the innocence of his father. However, he is
unable to convince Anton because his origins seem to come from the darkness of the past, and
because what he says is directly contrary to what Truus states earlier in the novel it is impossible
for Fake s argument to be convincing to the reader. This an example of how Mulisch is able to
either support or discount an argument he presents by the symbolism associated with the character

Mulisch uses references to darkness as well as small seemingly unimportant details that reach in a
conspicuous manner to impact the reader. The most important instance of this is the referenceto the
darkness within the neighboring houses, as the windows are closed in covered to avoid any

each new piece of legislation comes new policies, procedures and systems that change the way that

how the policing system operated when it was first introduced, how it has affected the general
population since it was established and how society has reacted to the changes that have been
developed and implemented forthcoming to modern day.
The policing system began in the 1700s when various forms of policing began to pop up around the
country, there were many different variations of keeping the peace and catching criminals that were
implemented, some very different from the police force that we know today.
It originally started off with the introduction of parish constables, of whom assisted with the
enforcement of order and justice within their local communities. More often than not these officers
tended to be English and middle class. Being a parish constable wasn t a full time job however as
all of the officers had other jobs to return to after they had finished their policing term. One article

How To Be Happy Essay
Strive to be happy . What does this mean? What does it mean to be happy? What does happiness
truly entail?
Being happy is a goal which many people endeavour to achieve throughout their lives. However,
many people never seem to reach their goal, as happiness is something one cannot stumble upon.
It is something we have to be. We cannot wait our whole lives hoping that one day we will
magically become happy . As Aristotle correctly said, Happinessdepends upon ourselves . We
have to find our own happiness in everyday lives. We have to create our own happiness. We have
to strive for our own happiness.
Before we venture out on our road to happiness, we have to truly understand what it means to be
happy and how we each find our own happiness. As we are all individuals with our own specific
characteristics and defining traits, each of us has to find our own way to becoming happy. There
are many ways to do this but, in my opinion, being happy derives from having a purpose.
Having a purpose and a responsibility in life enables one to live a meaningful life, contributing in
our own way to whatever cause we may choose and thus bringing ourselves happiness. I recently
learned more about Viktor Frankl, a world renowned psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor, who
fathered Logotherapy: a means of helping patients ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

People begin to re think their journey when the results do not show quickly enough and they are

is highly unlikely that one can constantly feel happy; there will be many days when we will feel
downcast and miserable and that is a normal part of life. Also, the road to achieving happiness is a
long one and a process that takes time; we all need to be patient and watch as every day we come

Economic Inequality In The United States Has Risen And
Economic inequality in the United States has risen and absolute growth has slowed over the past
half century. This growing level of inequality sparks in a wave of support for redistribution. The
U.S. s inability to redistribute to the bottom quartile of the income distribution results a multitude
of factors that explain why people would support or oppose redistribution. An explanation of
economic inequality involves the argument that the wealthy have the needed resources in order to
flourish in achieving political decisions that they favor, through campaign contributions and other
forms of economic influence (Gelman 1213). The proposal for this paper is that there is a factor
that is unaccounted for, in which it is possibly impacting the... Show more content on

Within the U.S., they computed the probability that individuals in different income brackets will
reach levels of income in the future which will make them net losers from redistribution (Alesina,
Glaeser, and Sacerdote 19). They make the claim that the probability of upward mobility is major
predictor of one s support for redistribution.
The second factor explains how social mobility for households is related in what influences the
support for redistribution. The result of this is that families would have to achieve social mobility
and move up higher in the income distribution, rather than the distribution itself moving. In simple
terms, in the future, the growth in income is more likely to derive from income mobility as
opposed to baseline growth. Because of this, the consequence is that the increase in income for
individuals would typically come at the expense of other individuals.
The third factor explains how immigration can affect redistribution. For example, as there is a rise
in inequality, what occurs at the same time is the rise in immigration. This leads to the median
voter s household income deviate drastically from the median household income in the nation. The
major point is that low voter turnout amongst eligible voters is not driving the lack of redistribution
in the United States. Rather, the change has come in the large number of residents in the U.S. who
lack citizenship.

Scientific Analysis of Killer Whales Essay
Scientific Analysis of Killer Whales
Scientific Classification:
Order Genus. The scientific order of all types of whales is Cetacea. This large order is broken
down into three further groups as well: the toothed whales or Odontoceti, which includes killer
whales, dolphins, porpoises, beluga whales, and sperm whales, the baleen whales or Mysticeti,
which include blue whales, humpback whales, gray whales, and right whales, and the Archaeoceti
order, which are all now extinct. The genus of these species is Orcinus orca.

The population can be distinguished because killer whales travel in pods, or groups. The resident
pods can vary from as few as five to as many as fifty whales. The transient pod size varies from one
and seven individuals.
Physical Characteristics:
Size. Male killer whales average about twenty two to twenty seven feet and usually weigh
between 8,000 and 12,000 pounds. The largest male ever recorded was thirty two feet and
weighed about 21,000 pounds. As a male approaches adulthood, it acquires the typical male
characteristics: it gains weight, and its pectoral flippers, dorsal fin, and flukes grow larger than
those of females. Female killer whales average about seventeen to twenty four feet and usually
weigh between 3,000 and 8,000 pounds. The largest female recorded was twenty eight feet and
weight about 15,000 pounds.
Body Shape. The killer whale has a sleek, streamlined body. Its physical characteristics are adapted
for life in an aquatic environment.
Coloration. Killer whales are easily recognized by their distinct coloration. The dorsal surface
and pectoral flippers are black, except for the area below and behind the dorsal fin. The ventral
surface, lower jaw, and undersides of the tail flukes are mostly white and the undersides of the
tail fluke are lined with black. A white eyespot is located just above and slightly behind each eye

The Social Contract Theory Since The United States
For this discussion, I am keen to discuss the Social Contract theory since I see this fundamental
theory still directly affects today s politics in the United States as well as around the world.
Contemporary study of neoliberalism and neo conservatism as in the analysis of Wendy Brown
(2006) or of political deliberation and deliberative democracy in the writing of Simone Chambers
(2009) is a dynamic consequences of that basic concepts of democracy from the past. During its
development, democracy has been falling up. It is a way out for the improvement of human
civilization and universal humanism, but democracy also contains a paradox per se.
Overall the nature and dynamics of such democracy remains a never ending study case for the
scholars. This discussion is also part of efforts to respond to that paradoxical nature of democracy.
Social Contract Theory
If we look at the beginning part of US Constitution, this sentence raises question: We the people of
the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, promote the general welfare, and secure
the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our prosperity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for
the United States of America (Independence Hall Association, 2013b). Being started by the word
„WE , in my opinion, makes the point clear in two senses. First, the Framers of the Constitution
realized the notion of social contract as the very nature of being a nation state as emerged in the
thinking of modern

Thoughts on Being Humble
What is the purpose of being humble, when should we be humble, and is being humble overrated?
Do people only dislike other people for being cocky because they doubt themselves?
Personally, I do not mind it much when people brag about what they have achieved or have done.
More often than not, I know they never intentionally mean any harm by doing so. Why should I
mind? They re only excited about their life, right?
It is always easy to remain humble when everything is good and dandy, but the moment someone
criticizes them, they tend to withdraw, especially if the person criticizing does so in a tone which
may not be soothing enough.
I know people who swear on their lives they are humble, yet, they are not. They are so deep in ...

We must strive to remember how to behave during tough situations.
In contrast, I can understand why it isn t a good idea to be humble also. In other countries,
people tend to be less direct, or more humble during business or discussions. America tends to be
more direct, and if people who tend to be more direct are less understanding and less able to
recognize one who is less direct during a conversation, we must remember that there is a potential
that the humble person may be perceived as a weak individual, whether it be physically, mentally,
or via business.
I propose we be humble, confident, and persistent. We can prove ourselves to ourselves by
consistently making things happen by REMEMBERING to take positive action. Let us advance in
life by remembering to remain humble during proper moments because it is those moments which
shape our destiny.
Being humble is the same as having a student mentality, and it is much more difficult to learn when
we lack a student mentality. We simply become less receptive to knowledge.
Also, you may want to keep in mind that cockiness and talking about what you want to do may
cause people to resent you, and people often do not like to see cocky or arrogant individuals rise
above levels which they themselves have yet to achieve. It is easier to rise above when we remain
humble because people will like us better.
Another good reason to be humble is because we never know when the tables

Essay Biodiesel vs. Ethanol
Biodiesel vs. Ethanol
Both biodiesel and ethanol are derivatives of biomass that have been processed to create a liquid
biofuel. Both types of biofuels have been touted as secure and environmentally safe alternatives to
fossil fuels, however the research verifying these claims is extensive but often contradicting. In the
following paper, the efficiency and quality of the two types of biofuel will be discussed. The effects
of variables such as source materials and production techniques on efficiency and quality will be
considered. Due to the limited scope of this paper however, only generalized net analyses of
ethanol and biodiesel production will be considered. The production of ethanol requires one of two
source materials, cellulose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important similarity between production of biodiesel and production of ethanol is that at some
point during processing both systems require an input of either fossil, hydro, electric, solar, or
wind energy. Thus, in order to determine if the use of biofuels for mobile transportation purposes
is more efficient than using fossil fuels, net energy analyses must be considered (Malca and Freire,
2006).
It is significant to note that net energy analyses of both types of biofuels will differ based on
source matter, differential processing technologies, crop production techniques, and the amount of
biofuel being utilized. For example, bioethanol that is produced from wheat has a greater energy
renewability efficiency value (ERenEF) (48%) than does ethanol produced from corn. ERenEF
measures the fraction of final fuel energy obtained from renewable resources (Maca and Freire,
2006). This indicates that a greater percentage of the energy from wheat based ethanol is
renewable, as compared to energy from corn based ethanol.
Similarly, different processing technologies affect the energy renewability efficiency of ethanol.
The use of ethyl tertiary butyl ether as a fuel oxygenate will increase an ERenEF when compared
with the use of methyl tertiary butyl ether is as a fuel oxygenate. Different crop production
techniques (e.g. no till systems as

Astrology Midterm Paper
Midterm Paper: Astrology as a Pseudoscience While Astrology was based on the scientifically
supported surveillance and movement of celestial bodies , majority of the work drawn from
observations have been poorly executed and negatively received. Astrology consistently contradicts
itself and the professionals that claim it as their practice rarely have any factual counterarguments
for the numerous holes in the research methods or their reliance on mere observation. Astrology
began in Mesopotamia around 3000 B.C. when civilizations began to observe the constellations and
planets in the sky. The Babylonians then realized that the position of celestial bodies allowed them
to predict the seasons and other events that happened cyclically... Show more content on

Penn and Teller conducted an experiment that measured the satisfaction of a personality
description that was written out for every individual in a classroom. The general response was
that of a positive reaction to the description, meaning that majority of the students deemed their
report to be fair and relatively reflective of their personality. The professor then revealed to the
class that each student had received the same description with no variation whatsoever. This
experiment exposes modern astrology and horoscope work for what it really is. A large blanket
personality statement that majority of the population will accept as true. Modern astrology will
take a generalization and dole it out to any uneducated reader of a gossip column or newspaper.
The reader is amazed by the accuracy and continues to buy into the concept of astrology. This
astrological magic show, while very entertaining is not a science, rather a cut and dry statement that
makes the ordinary feel special. Astrology in the 20th and 21st century utilizes very little to no
factual information and instead focuses on the cultivation of a large audience with money to spend.
Astrologists and a sympathetic community do however provide counter arguments as to why
Astrology should be taken seriously. They argue that their methodology is no different from other

In order for a seed to germinate, many conditions must be met. Firstly a seed must be viable. If a
seed is viable it require a suitable environment with proper levels of moisture, suitable
temperatures, oxygen, fertile soil, and proper pH levels to name a few. However, as many of us
have experienced, some viable (living) seeds will NOT germinate, even when given the perfect
conditions. In the field of botany, this phenomenon is known as physiological seeddormancy (will
be referred to as PSD from here on out). In plain language, PSD is like a hibernation stage that
occurs after seed maturation but before germination.
After the seeds of a mother plant mature, they respond to environmental cues that signal the end of
the growing season ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The answer is ABA)
In contrast to mature plant, in seeds ABA is mainly produced in the cotyledons (1st set of
immature leaves ) of an embryo and is secreted inside the seed at a very slow and constant rate.
This will inhibit germination. A sharp decrease in ABA levels disrupts PSD, triggers embryo
growth, and thus allows germination. There are many ways by which ABA levels can be decreased.
The most understood methods include: Chilling, Phytochrome stimulation, and After ripening.
Chilling is another way to decreases levels of ABA. Chilling disrupting the enzymes that
catalyze the reaction that make ABA. This occurs in nature during the cold temperatures of
winter. seeds that have fallen to the ground are covered by snow or cold soil for 2 4 months and
disrupt the production of ABA. This can simulated through a process in botany known as
stratification . seeds are placed in MOISTENED medium or paper towel and kept in a
REFRIGERATOR to simulate winter and disrupts the production of ABA. (Do not use the
freezer, your run the risk of tissue damage once temperatures fall below 32F. Temperatures between
34F 40F work best. 3 14 days usually works for cannabis, but some seeds may require longer. The
longer they are in cold, the more likely levels of ABA will

Motifs In The Film s Music
The film s music was written by James Newton Howard, who is also known for his work in
Batman Begins (2005), Pretty Woman (1990) and King Kong (2005), is known for extensive use
of multiple chord progressions, false cadences, and changes in key.The film has three main groups
of musical motifs. One is the slow, soft Appalachian sound with folk type musicusing fiddle, banjo
and vocals for the main character Katniss in District 12 (coal mining area) which gives the idea of
the culture; a simple life with little music. The second is the bold, marching drums and brass
sounds from the Capitol of Panem, used in parades which gives the impression of strength and unity.

As they get on the chariots ( Preparing the Chariots ; track 6 of The Hunger Games Score) the
music begins to build using strings and starts introducing the Panem theme with a march feel
from bass and percussion. When they ride into the Capital ( Horn of Plenty ; track 7 of The
Hunger Games Score), the Panem theme comes at you in full force. With cymbal crashes, drums
and bold brass, the march begins giving the impression of power and grandeur. As Katniss and
Peeta emerge from the tunnel with the costumes on fire, the music intensifies as together they
hold up their hands together as a symbol of unity. The Capital motif continues in the background
as Katniss and Peeta begin training for the arena ( Penthouse/Training and Learning the Skills ;
track 8 and 9 of The Hunger Games Score). The same middle eastern theme with a madeline is
heard again giving the impression of a foreign, unfamiliar environment. This leads into low,
uncertain feel from adagiostrings in a minor key. As more people are showing their skills, the
music begins to intensify and the drums/percussion begin march type of music to demonstrate the
military feel of the environment. The final group of motifsbegins when everyone has trained and
are put into the arena. She is blinded as she comes up from the tube and a monotone, electric
sound is heard giving the impression of confusion. This gives way to a low buzzing sound as

Essay On Causes Of Crime In Macbeth
Most are unable to fathom committing a crime, but little do they know, there are underlying
causes for the atrocity. Between addiction, drugs, pressure, and desperation, there are many outer
reasons as to why someone would commit a crime. Some causes can turn any ordinary person into
an offender, while others are hard wired into the brain. It isn t always possible to tell, or prevent a
future criminal from developing, but by understanding the multiple causes, it becomes easier to
understand their thought process. Shakespeare s Macbeth is an enchanting tale of one man s
ambition and insanity. His ambition leads him to murder, lying, and conspiring against others, and
the influence of his wife plays a role in his future. Her pressure for success drives Macbeth to
murder, and an unhealthy addiction of greed. Desperation, peer pressure, and ambition are three of
the many underlying causes for someone to commit a crime.
In order to survive in the world, a human being needs money. Money can be exchanged for food,
medicine, sources of warmth, and other necessities for survival, so when a person lacks these
necessities they resort to drastic measures. The 27 year old Gordon Curtis in England,
succumbed to one of these drastic measures. He was searching for farm work, but when he
discovered no one was currently residing there, he broke into the house. He stole possessions
and had to get quick money to survive and support his family ( Desperation driving people
towards crime). After his benefits were cut off, he resorted to stealing. His solicitor told the court,
the crime was one of desperation after he had problems with his benefits, and had to get quick
money to survive and support his family ( Desperation driving people towards crime). Desperation
causes human beings to take drastic measures, and Curtis is no exception. He was originally
searching for work, but he took the easy way out: stealing. Stealing was a last resort, but when
presented with the opportunity, he took it. His instinct to survive and feed his family was the
catalyst in the incident, and ultimately, his punishment. Desperation can cause ordinary people to
commit a crime, no matter how small. Curtis is a small example of the idea that

  • 2. Speech On Fashion Designer Handbags Selecting Fashion Designer Handbags To Enhance Your Beauty When you have a vital arrangement, how would you finish your outfit? Possibly with a fine arrangement of gems? A couple of designer shoes? What about a bag? Obviously, no lady of fashion will ever go out without a bag or purse to contain some of her own assets. There is a purse to run with any outfit that a lady may wear. A purse is, by a wide margin, the handiest frill at any point used by ladies without leaving fashion. Truly, fashion designer handbags really exist to serve distinctive capacities for ladies. Regardless of whether the issue is a straightforward day time event, formal night party, or whatever other easygoing issue, there is the sort of bag that will suit every occasion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some come inexpensively labeled while others are to a great degree costly. However, what is this fever over stylish designer handbags? Why are ladies of any age going gaga over these things? They have captivated ladies of all kinds of different backgrounds, and a considerable lot of these ladies don t scrutinize the cost. Unquestionably, there couldn t be a distinction so critical that it would legitimize spending such a great amount on such a thing! Designer handbags are, in truth, the same as whatever other sort of tote. Costly or not, they are altogether made essentially to hold a lady s belonging, for example, her driving permit, lipstick, cosmetics, cash, and so on. The truth is that a designer name has an inseparable tie to the fever over designer handbags. Carrying a designer tote around is to a great degree fulfilling for a few ladies; it makes them feel that they have entered the universe of designer fashion. Designer names are a wellspring of pride for some ladies since they realize that their bag was fashioned by some scandalous fashion designer who has the nerve to tag the pack with a madly high sticker ... The highest level of sports, the Olympic Games, is the pinnacle for athletes around the world, so the prospect of winning a medal at the games can inspire cheating. Virtually every athlete s dream is to become an Olympic gold medalist so doping surrounds the Olympic Games. Olympic sports go further than the measure of athletic brilliance and dominance. Sports on a global spectrum are about more than winning trophies and medals; they are an important part of social culture and they enhance our everyday lives. The present day global sports industry is worth several hundred billion, so it makes up a huge part of global civilization... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many scholars are certain that the decision to dope comes from an internal battle between the desire to win and the ethical decision to stay true to the rules of good, clean sport. Most athletes let their desire for glory outweigh their moral obligations. To those athletes, doping is determined by individual mental factors. Other athletes dope for reasons such as quicker recovery, pain management, career longevity, and so on. According to the article, why we should allow performance enhancing drugs in sport, the author Julian Savulescu explains how doping is now an everyday part of sports due to the rise of risks and recompenses in Olympic sports. Savulescu expounds, Elite athletes can earn tens of millions of dollars every year from prize money alone, and millions more in endorsements (Savulescu 2004). West Los Angeles is home to two prominent cemeteries: the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery and the Los Angeles National Cemetery. The Westwood Cemetery was constructed in 1905, serving as the rest place for many famous individuals within the entertainment industry. Famous names such as Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Natalie Wood, Roy Orbison, and Jack Lemmon are buried at this gravesite. Nearly less than a mile away from this cemeteryis the Los Angeles National Cemetery. Established in 1889, this national cemetery is home to many members of the armed forces who have actively served in the military and/or law enforcement. These two distinct cemeteries may only appear to share relativity through their short distance, but they also symbolize many cultural aspects of the American ideology. The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery and the Veterans Cemetery reinforces American societal conformities and ideals by perpetuating the idea of gender bias, displaying extreme idolization of celebrity status, and imprinting religious affiliation. Through tombstone appearance, cultural imprints on the tombstones, and categorization of the tombstones, both cemeteries embody contemporary American and Los Angeles culture. The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery contains some of the most prominent figures in Hollywood. In addition, the cemetery is the burial site of many common individuals. Utilizing the understanding of the later definition make is extremely easier to incorporate the narrative of the Old Testament and the New Testament into one chronicle event moving along the time line to teach and understand the mission of the church. It follows the events of knowing the story and where the church came from and where it is headed. Clearly the church is not complete as Jesushas not returned so the work is still on going. The story continues to be written. Christians today, just as the Jewish people did back during the times of the Old Testament, need to know the story and to do that we need to know the scriptures. The question comes down to how the Old Testament and the New Testament would be formed into one narrative to accomplish the goal of enhancing the understanding of the mission of the church. To accomplish this task, I believe Christopher Wright, in his book, summarized the task very well. If one looks at the Bible from an actual story line the flow from one Testament to the other does exactly that; it flows. The Old Testament points to the New Testament and the New Testament builds upon the Old Testament. The four major sections of the biblical story are Creation, Fall, Redemption in History, and New Creation . If people begin to think in terms of the Biblical story from Genesis through Revelation and the realization that the story is not over, it will be simpler to understand how all the time eras in the Bible relate to each other and ... The repute of the brand is extremely important to customers; luxury brands such as Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have a long and magnificent history to boast about, and the companies work hard to preserve the association between them and other symbols of individuality and of top notch quality and performance. Although several Asian companies have developed new luxury brands to compete with the traditional European and American brands, it is extremely difficult for challengers to match the prestige of brands with years of history. Another challenging barrier to entry is the huge initial investment required to enter car markets in general. Large amounts of capital are required to set up manufacturing facilities and invest in R D, among other large expenses. This also creates large sunk costs and makes it hard to achieve economies of scale. Although, after learning about Utilitarianism, Deontology, and Virtue Ethics, I have realized that certain characteristics of each play a role in determining what ethics truly are. Utilitarianism characterizes the definition of ethics, by making all choices have the greatest positive impact, while minimizing the risk. Deontology on the other hand would rather we not get involved because there is never a justifiable means to an end. Finally, there is virtue ethics, which would have us aspires to have certain characteristics that we hold above all others. • 18. Taxes On Land And Property Essay Taxes on land and property have both fiscal and non fiscal effects. The revenue such taxes produce is often an important source of finance for local governments. The extent to which those governments have control over property taxes is thus often an important determinant of the extent to which they are able to make autonomous expenditure decisions. The level, design, and control of property taxationare thus, in many countries, critical elements in effective decentralization policy. But property taxes are not always local taxes, and whether they are or are not local, like all taxes they must also be considered from a more general policy perspective. From this perspective, property taxes may be viewed, depending upon one s assumptions, the environment in which they are applied, and their design and effectiveness, as an equitable and efficient way of raising revenue or they may be considered to be a regressive and undesirable form of public finance. A large number of studies have shown that; 1. Property taxes are generally heavier on non residential (and especially commercial) properties than on residential (single family) homes. 2. When there is considerable local discretion with respect to property taxes, there are also likely to be great differences in effective tax rates. But really, what is a boogeyman? As you continue on to read, I will talk about the similarities and differences between an article What s The Boogeyman and a short storyThe Boogeyman. In the article, it explains how a Boogeyman can be anything that will scare you straight up. There isn t a specific shape or form to the Boogeyman, it s just suppose to be something that will make you scared. The Boogeyman isn t located in just one place. It can be in your closet at night when you re asleep, it can be in the backseat of your car when you re alone. It can be anywhere your mind places it. Stuff like this is first introduced to little kids who are not behaving well or are not following specific instructions. Many parents use this term to get their child to do specific things. • 20. The Iroquois Creation Myth ExegesisMany Native Americans tell stories of the creation of earth that explain how they came to be before the Europeans entered North America. Creation myths vary among all cultures; however, they all have one thing in common; heaven and earth. One of the most popular creation myths was the Iroquois creation myth. The Iroquois or Haudenosaunee meaning People of the Longhouse (Iroquois Indian Museum, n.d.) consists of six Indian nations that include the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora tribes. In the beginning, there was a belief that before the creation of earth, there were two realms, the sky, and the lower world that consisted of water and water creatures. InterpretationThe story of the Sky Woman, her daughter and twin grandsons depicts the beginning of the world and creates the belief that everyone is born with good and evil in them. The significance of nature influences how the Native Americans belief that nature, animals, and humans are equal counterparts. If it had not been for the help of the animals, Sky Woman would have died and the creation of earth would not exist. The twins play a significant role among the Iroquois that the good and evil are necessary for the world to be in balance. The belief that Sky Woman is the leader of all female life who controls the rise and fall of the waters and a companion to the stars (Olan, n.d.) and regulates the monthly cycles of all females in which guarantees new life will be born (Olan, n.d.). The myth signifies the Native American belief of how the creation and reincarnation of humans connects to the rise and fall of the sun and moon. The Iroquois Creation Myth is a detailed and complex myth that has many different versions. The earliest complete transcription and translation of the Iroquois creation myth by David Cusick s Sketches of the Ancient History of the Six Nations (Cusick, 1828). United States History And Coach High School Football Essay I ve spent the last few years under the impression people make too big of a deal of coming out when their sexuality differs from the social norm. It s something that people tend to over represent and kind of force onto others too often, making it slightly overbearing for those who view it differently from members of the LGBTcommunity and their supporters. At the end of the day though, it s a matter of both self acceptance for those who struggle with their sexuality, and representation to help make it a less daunting and intimidating thing to be open about being different. Being happy is a goal which many people endeavour to achieve throughout their lives. However, many people never seem to reach their goal, as happiness is something one cannot stumble upon. It is something we have to be. We cannot wait our whole lives hoping that one day we will magically become happy . As Aristotle correctly said, Happinessdepends upon ourselves . We have to find our own happiness in everyday lives. We have to create our own happiness. We have to strive for our own happiness. Before we venture out on our road to happiness, we have to truly understand what it means to be happy and how we each find our own happiness. As we are all individuals with our own specific characteristics and defining traits, each of us has to find our own way to becoming happy. There are many ways to do this but, in my opinion, being happy derives from having a purpose. This growing level of inequality sparks in a wave of support for redistribution. The U.S. s inability to redistribute to the bottom quartile of the income distribution results a multitude of factors that explain why people would support or oppose redistribution. An explanation of economic inequality involves the argument that the wealthy have the needed resources in order to flourish in achieving political decisions that they favor, through campaign contributions and other forms of economic influence (Gelman 1213). Within the U.S., they computed the probability that individuals in different income brackets will reach levels of income in the future which will make them net losers from redistribution (Alesina, Glaeser, and Sacerdote 19). They make the claim that the probability of upward mobility is major predictor of one s support for redistribution. The second factor explains how social mobility for households is related in what influences the support for redistribution. The result of this is that families would have to achieve social mobility and move up higher in the income distribution, rather than the distribution itself moving. In simple terms, in the future, the growth in income is more likely to derive from income mobility as opposed to baseline growth. Because of this, the consequence is that the increase in income for individuals would typically come at the expense of other individuals. The third factor explains how immigration can affect redistribution. For example, as there is a rise in inequality, what occurs at the same time is the rise in immigration. This leads to the median voter s household income deviate drastically from the median household income in the nation. The major point is that low voter turnout amongst eligible voters is not driving the lack of redistribution in the United States. Contemporary study of neoliberalism and neo conservatism as in the analysis of Wendy Brown (2006) or of political deliberation and deliberative democracy in the writing of Simone Chambers (2009) is a dynamic consequences of that basic concepts of democracy from the past. • 39. Essay Biodiesel vs. Ethanol Biodiesel vs. Ethanol Both biodiesel and ethanol are derivatives of biomass that have been processed to create a liquid biofuel. Both types of biofuels have been touted as secure and environmentally safe alternatives to fossil fuels, however the research verifying these claims is extensive but often contradicting. In the following paper, the efficiency and quality of the two types of biofuel will be discussed. The effects of variables such as source materials and production techniques on efficiency and quality will be considered. Due to the limited scope of this paper however, only generalized net analyses of ethanol and biodiesel production will be considered. The production of ethanol requires one of two source materials, cellulose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An important similarity between production of biodiesel and production of ethanol is that at some point during processing both systems require an input of either fossil, hydro, electric, solar, or wind energy. Thus, in order to determine if the use of biofuels for mobile transportation purposes is more efficient than using fossil fuels, net energy analyses must be considered (Malca and Freire, 2006). It is significant to note that net energy analyses of both types of biofuels will differ based on source matter, differential processing technologies, crop production techniques, and the amount of biofuel being utilized. For example, bioethanol that is produced from wheat has a greater energy renewability efficiency value (ERenEF) (48%) than does ethanol produced from corn. ERenEF measures the fraction of final fuel energy obtained from renewable resources (Maca and Freire, 2006). This indicates that a greater percentage of the energy from wheat based ethanol is renewable, as compared to energy from corn based ethanol. Similarly, different processing technologies affect the energy renewability efficiency of ethanol. The use of ethyl tertiary butyl ether as a fuel oxygenate will increase an ERenEF when compared with the use of methyl tertiary butyl ether is as a fuel oxygenate. Different crop production techniques (e.g. no till systems as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Astrology Midterm Paper Midterm Paper: Astrology as a Pseudoscience While Astrology was based on the scientifically supported surveillance and movement of celestial bodies , majority of the work drawn from observations have been poorly executed and negatively received. Astrology consistently contradicts itself and the professionals that claim it as their practice rarely have any factual counterarguments for the numerous holes in the research methods or their reliance on mere observation. Astrology began in Mesopotamia around 3000 B.C. when civilizations began to observe the constellations and planets in the sky. The Babylonians then realized that the position of celestial bodies allowed them to predict the seasons and other events that happened cyclically... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Penn and Teller conducted an experiment that measured the satisfaction of a personality description that was written out for every individual in a classroom. The general response was that of a positive reaction to the description, meaning that majority of the students deemed their report to be fair and relatively reflective of their personality. The professor then revealed to the class that each student had received the same description with no variation whatsoever. This experiment exposes modern astrology and horoscope work for what it really is. A large blanket personality statement that majority of the population will accept as true. Modern astrology will take a generalization and dole it out to any uneducated reader of a gossip column or newspaper. The reader is amazed by the accuracy and continues to buy into the concept of astrology. This astrological magic show, while very entertaining is not a science, rather a cut and dry statement that makes the ordinary feel special. Astrology in the 20th and 21st century utilizes very little to no factual information and instead focuses on the cultivation of a large audience with money to spend. Astrologists and a sympathetic community do however provide counter arguments as to why Astrology should be taken seriously. They argue that their methodology is no different from other ... If a seed is viable it require a suitable environment with proper levels of moisture, suitable temperatures, oxygen, fertile soil, and proper pH levels to name a few. However, as many of us have experienced, some viable (living) seeds will NOT germinate, even when given the perfect conditions. In the field of botany, this phenomenon is known as physiological seeddormancy (will be referred to as PSD from here on out). In plain language, PSD is like a hibernation stage that occurs after seed maturation but before germination. After the seeds of a mother plant mature, they respond to environmental cues that signal the end of the growing season ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The answer is ABA) In contrast to mature plant, in seeds ABA is mainly produced in the cotyledons (1st set of immature leaves ) of an embryo and is secreted inside the seed at a very slow and constant rate. This will inhibit germination. A sharp decrease in ABA levels disrupts PSD, triggers embryo growth, and thus allows germination. There are many ways by which ABA levels can be decreased. The most understood methods include: Chilling, Phytochrome stimulation, and After ripening. Chilling is another way to decreases levels of ABA. Chilling disrupting the enzymes that catalyze the reaction that make ABA. This occurs in nature during the cold temperatures of winter. seeds that have fallen to the ground are covered by snow or cold soil for 2 4 months and disrupt the production of ABA. This can simulated through a process in botany known as stratification . seeds are placed in MOISTENED medium or paper towel and kept in a REFRIGERATOR to simulate winter and disrupts the production of ABA. (Do not use the freezer, your run the risk of tissue damage once temperatures fall below 32F. Temperatures between 34F 40F work best. 3 14 days usually works for cannabis, but some seeds may require longer. The longer they are in cold, the more likely levels of ABA will ... • 42. Motifs In The Film s Music The film s music was written by James Newton Howard, who is also known for his work in Batman Begins (2005), Pretty Woman (1990) and King Kong (2005), is known for extensive use of multiple chord progressions, false cadences, and changes in key.The film has three main groups of musical motifs. One is the slow, soft Appalachian sound with folk type musicusing fiddle, banjo and vocals for the main character Katniss in District 12 (coal mining area) which gives the idea of the culture; a simple life with little music. The second is the bold, marching drums and brass sounds from the Capitol of Panem, used in parades which gives the impression of strength and unity. Low ominous sounds are mixed into the Capital music to give the feelingof evil and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As they get on the chariots ( Preparing the Chariots ; track 6 of The Hunger Games Score) the music begins to build using strings and starts introducing the Panem theme with a march feel from bass and percussion. When they ride into the Capital ( Horn of Plenty ; track 7 of The Hunger Games Score), the Panem theme comes at you in full force. With cymbal crashes, drums and bold brass, the march begins giving the impression of power and grandeur. As Katniss and Peeta emerge from the tunnel with the costumes on fire, the music intensifies as together they hold up their hands together as a symbol of unity. The Capital motif continues in the background as Katniss and Peeta begin training for the arena ( Penthouse/Training and Learning the Skills ; track 8 and 9 of The Hunger Games Score). The same middle eastern theme with a madeline is heard again giving the impression of a foreign, unfamiliar environment. This leads into low, uncertain feel from adagiostrings in a minor key. As more people are showing their skills, the music begins to intensify and the drums/percussion begin march type of music to demonstrate the military feel of the environment. The final group of motifsbegins when everyone has trained and are put into the arena. She is blinded as she comes up from the tube and a monotone, electric sound is heard giving the impression of confusion. This gives way to a low buzzing sound as everyone is looking ... • 43. Essay On Causes Of Crime In Macbeth Most are unable to fathom committing a crime, but little do they know, there are underlying causes for the atrocity. Between addiction, drugs, pressure, and desperation, there are many outer reasons as to why someone would commit a crime. Some causes can turn any ordinary person into an offender, while others are hard wired into the brain. It isn t always possible to tell, or prevent a future criminal from developing, but by understanding the multiple causes, it becomes easier to understand their thought process. Shakespeare s Macbeth is an enchanting tale of one man s ambition and insanity. His ambition leads him to murder, lying, and conspiring against others, and the influence of his wife plays a role in his future. Her pressure for success drives Macbeth to murder, and an unhealthy addiction of greed. Desperation, peer pressure, and ambition are three of the many underlying causes for someone to commit a crime. In order to survive in the world, a human being needs money. Money can be exchanged for food, medicine, sources of warmth, and other necessities for survival, so when a person lacks these necessities they resort to drastic measures. The 27 year old Gordon Curtis in England, succumbed to one of these drastic measures. He was searching for farm work, but when he discovered no one was currently residing there, he broke into the house. He stole possessions and had to get quick money to survive and support his family ( Desperation driving people towards crime). After his benefits were cut off, he resorted to stealing. His solicitor told the court, the crime was one of desperation after he had problems with his benefits, and had to get quick money to survive and support his family ( Desperation driving people towards crime). Desperation causes human beings to take drastic measures, and Curtis is no exception. He was originally searching for work, but he took the easy way out: stealing. Stealing was a last resort, but when presented with the opportunity, he took it. His instinct to survive and feed his family was the catalyst in the incident, and ultimately, his punishment. Desperation can cause ordinary people to commit a crime, no matter how small. Curtis is a small example of the idea that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
