2. Example of his Work
Chuck Close was born in July 1940, New York. He takes his pictures with
low f-stops to create a shallow depth of field which gives his images a
sculptural quality and a sense of intimacy to his images.
3. This is my original photo. I shone the light on one side of the face to create a shadow
on the right side. The whole face is in focus, the f-stop is 5.6 and the shutter speed is
¼.
4. This is my edited photo. I used Photoshop to change the image to black and white,
decreased the exposure and the contrast. I increased the brightness to bring out the
detail in the face. When I took the original photo I used artificial light to bring out the
key features.
