Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. A little bit of stress, known as “acute stress,” can be exciting—it keeps us active and alert. But long-term, or “chronic stress,” can have detrimental effects on health. You may not be able to control the stressors in your world, but you can alter your reaction to them.

5. Who Am I?
I was born in 1st
of August 1985. My mother is a teacher teaching at Mahabodhi
Vidyalaya in Henegama. My father is native doctors working in private surgery at
Weliveriya.I have a brother & a sister. Brother is studying at the Faculty of Engineering,
University of Moratuwa. My sister is doing her advanced level examination in the stream
of bio science at Rathnavali College at Gampaha.
Let’s back to my early child hood. In retrospect, when I was at the age of two, I was not
much a conversationalist. If I want something, I would cry unless& until given it to me
by my mom or dad. At the age of four I was such a nasty guy that I never obey my
parents.
My first alma mater was Buthpitiya junior school. I learnt there up to the grade five. I
was a on of the outstanding pupil in the school. I was the head prefect in grade five.
Having passed scholar ship examination in 1995 &enter to the Bandaranayaka College
which was my second alma mater. I was excelling in studies & extra-curricular activities.
I was too studious such that I came to first five outstanding pupils in each & every
examination held in the school. I was a member of the school red cross society. I
participated so many campaigns like blood donation, providing health care facility,
providing first aid facility to the victims. I organized no of awareness programmes in
order to educate people. I actively attended to the perahera festival held in Kelaniya &
Gampaha. I was a social worker cum volunteer, having attended to preserving the
environment. I was the leader of Sri Lanka Red Cross School Society in our School
(2003-2004). I was the vice president of the Sinhala Literary Association (2000-2001). I
was a member of the School Buddhist Association. I was the head prefect of Dhamma
School & passed the Dhamma School final examination.
I sat ordinary level examination in 2001, having passed it & Selected commerce stream to
do advanced level examination. In 2004 I got through A/L with good results. Passing A/L
made me a completely different person. It was my revolutionary period. Having passed
the exam made new era of my life.
That is because; till I pass the A/L I did not serious about anything, except exams. But
once I passed the examination, I realized that I should hold responsible for my self, but
not others. I should be partner of my progress. I, my self must enlighten my future.
6. Dimension of my present life
Presently I am a second year student of faculty of Management Studies & Commerce,
University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
I have been selected to department of business Administration.
I am a student of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka & having successfully
passed the intermediate examination.
I am a student of Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka & following a
certificate course.
7. Personal Strategic Plan (PSP)
Introduction
The most intelligent animal on the earth is considered to be the Human (In future it may
change. I presumed). Human beings have five sensitive organs (some may say there are
six). So that they can grab any incident by using those five sensitive organs. There by
they can foresee the future & retrospect the past. Each & every human being living on the
earth, have some sort of exceptions. No human life will ever exist, for the sake of
exceptions. Therefore people plan & make strategies to meet their expect ions.
PSP, make the platform to for us handle our journey easier. It assists in finding the way to
our future. Where should we land on next month, one year’s time? .whether the said goals
are achieved in given time frame. PSP will help us to evaluate our progress. PSP will be a
one of the partner of our progress.
It is obvious that any successful person has PSP. But some may call it PSP & some may
not.
I as a human being, I have to do lots in my life & have to accomplish lots of goals.
Therefore proper PSP is prerequisite of every successful person.
8. My Vision
Serving all humans for the uplifting their standard of living together with mentality.
Mission
To be a person who is capable of achieving my vision.
My Philosophy
Philosophy is all about belief of a person (you may argue that always not, you may right).
But I presume, all beliefs are in the once Philosophy. In other words philosophy is all
how a person sees something. It is fed by numerous criterions. It may be the education
person obtained, environmental factors, religion.
Each & every person has a philosophy. But some may know it as his philosophy, some
may not. Different people have different philosophies. Once philosophy will reflect what
kind of a person he is? His behavior? His character, His attitudes & so on.
To be a person with a vision, such person must have a good philosophy. It mirrors your
life.
I also have good vision, which combines with my religion. As a Buddhist, I am
committed to Buddhism. I believe, what in comparable Buddha taught & I practicing his
sermons.
Although modern sophisticated technology is there. As we are the most intelligent being
in the world. But there are incidents; humans are still incapable of detecting, preventing
or correcting them. That is because they are beyond the human control. So that no one
can not exceed natural phenomena. No one is able to control it yet. We are controlling by
the natural phenomena.
Buddhism teaches the way to react the natural phenomena. One famous saying in
Buddhism is “if one who adheres to the Buddhism, the Buddhism will protect him.
(Dahamen dahamia surakei). According to Buddhism you must held responsible for your
actions. You should take avenge for your actions. According to Newton “Every action
has a reaction”. If you commit wrong thing, you will receive results of it, even if you
committed it by secretly. That is because no one can cheat his or her consciences. If you
did good thing, you would receive good results. Therefore I personally believe things to
be done in the best interest if the people. Not for the just sake of doing it. The
9. imagination should be free from errors. Actions are honest & outspoken. From beginning
to end you are with the same mind.
As principle I do not find faults with others. But if some one shows my fault, I am
willingly to accepting it. I do not mind the person whom advised to me.
We all know for a fact that, we all are in this world just for a while. We are not
permanent residents in this world. We did not bring any thing here & we can not take
anything from here except our good or bad actions. Therefore you must admit to work
keeping mind that you will die tomorrow.
Life it self is a long struggle from birth to death. But you can convert this struggle in to
peaceful & enjoyable in terms of your dedication & commitment. You must be satisfied
with what you have. You should not go for extremes. Middle path is the best of every
thing.

12. A review of the subject
Life it self is long struggle from birth to death. Why do we feel so? Because we all are
human beings. We are so keen about, what is happening around us. We are so sensitive
unlike other animals. We are made of flesh & blood. You see how difficult to live (but
some would say, it is the way that you preserve your life. not always difficult. But my
argument is, although you suffer a lot about your life, you do not want to show it to
others. I am not pessimistic one). By using our five sensitive organs, we absorb every
action in terms of positive as well as negative.
As we all are human beings as well as social animals. As social animals we can not live
alone. We want to live together. Family is the smallest social organization in the society.
While living in the society, we have to engage with lots of people with different nature
because different people are brought up with different environment. So that living among
them would be the most challenging task.
One way of overcoming this task is, having a good education. HRM 2302 provided us a
tremendous knowledge about “how to be involved with human affairs & the society. This
subject was really helpful us to uplift our behavior, character, attitude as well. We gained
a lot about to our day to day life. This subject was not only for the studying but also for
practice. Course content was highly relevant for our lives. Especially subject areas like
“time management, Ethical decision making, and positive thinking” was so prestigious
for our lives.
Then I should specially mention about, the lecturer who conducted this lecture serious
was Mr.N.W.R.D.K. Dayarathna. He was one of the greatest teachers we ever had. We
were given a tremendous knowledge by him. He knew the art of teaching. As far as
teaching is concern, it is not an easy task. It involves lots of dedication & commitment.
He made us to absorb all essence of this subject during his lecture series. He assisted us
in each & every problem we faced. He made further clarification about, what is unknown
to us. He was good friend rather than a teacher.
13. Then I must say about Corporate Social Responsibility project we did. It was such a
noblest thing we ever did. Unlike other projects, this was highly keen on the morality of
humans. In this project we were not benefited by physically. It was for the mental
benefits.
We held a “First Aid Boxes” donating campaign, under the supervision of our former
lecturer Mr.N.W.R.D.K. Dayarathna & our A2 group members.
First we collected funds in order to buying first aid boxes. The ceremonially function was
held in management building & we donated first aid boxes to the other departments. We
were praised them a lot. We enjoyed a lot. We were given marks also.
Unlike other subject this subject added a value to our lives & it involved with lots of
activities which gained an experience to us.
14. About portfolio
Although preparing assignments seem to be made severe botheration on most of students.
That is because, most of them are dull & boring (not interesting). It is keen on subject
matters only. (If by chance, what would happen if the subject is not interested?). There,
what really students do is they do such assignment for the sake of doing.
Unlike other assignments this is some what interesting as well as important to our life
also. It is also really helpful to our future affairs as well.
15. How to be a valued & professional one
Life is always about making choices. What would happen if you end up with wrong
choices? No one will ever respect you. For you to be a valued & professional one, first
you must be good decision maker. You must weigh the prose & cones of the problem.
You must be an X-ray visionary viewer. Why it is so important? It is because your
professionalism is measured in terms of the accuracy of the decision you made. Why the
decision making so important to be a valued one. Your wealth is measured in terms of
your ability to make firm decisions. The way that you make decisions will show your
character, your behavior, your attitudes as well as your beliefs. It also shows your
flexibility, adoptability, commitment & perseverance. Not only they will see you from,
the way you adopt to find solution. Compare & contrast about decision made and check
whether solutions are firmly made.
To be a valued & professional one you must process a good
character. Nor person will ever considered as valued or professional one until & unless, if
he processes a good character. Character shows every thing about you. Other than that
others perception of yours is mainly depend on your character.
Another Essentional thing is managing the time. We all know for
a fact time is the one of the prestigious factor that we have. It is limited compared to life
spam of a person. The way that you adopt to manage your time will decide your future.
There you must follow list of strategies. You should complete your given tasks on time
not more or less.
Next issue is the way you look at the problems. If you think positively,
fine, but if not? You must bear every thing compassionately. Middle path is the best of
every thing.
These are the core factors to be a valued & professional one.
