ABOUT ME
I was raised traveling
around the world due to my
father being in the Navy. I
have seen and experienced
a lot of different places
and cultures. Growing up
my favorite part was the
different styles that were
unique to each place.
One day I aspire to be
one of those people who
are helping to make those
stylistic decisions to be
unique to them.

Concept Statement
The main conceptual driver for the design is the use of color, light,
and texture to create a physical environment which fosters mental
engagement while still feeling relaxed, inspired, and collaborative.
The aesthetic solution is a unique “resi-mmercial” look that connects
to the NEXT brand and company identity while still fostering a sense
of place within the LoDo district. Exposed ceilings provide height
and pattern through structure while lowered ceiling zones give the
opportunity to play with cove lighting to create a softer, yet still
dramatic effect. A variety of textural walls connect to the eclectic
and historic atmosphere of this surrounding context and aspects of
biophilia. Furniture selections and accessories to help create choice
within the workplace.

Concept Statement
The space will aim to go through a transformation just like the users of
the brand. The butterfly goes through a transformation from caterpillar
to butterfly, as the user goes from young adult life into the workforce.
Transformation will be utilized in the space as a play in ceiling heights
and compression. Mariposa is to give the users the tools they need
to be successful at ease through the use of form, flow, and texture.

The space will aim to embody the authentic and eclectic style of Ruby
Ingram. The name Ruby signifies richness and often travel is associated
with making one richer, therefore, the space will have hints of global flare
which connect to the bold and rich personality of a world traveler. The
main conceptual form giver for the design is the exploration of distinct
nooks or meeting areas that communicate to the rest of the space. Key
areas of support, such as the toilet rooms and storage room are placed to
further define zones within the larger seating area. Overall, the space is a
relaxed but professional place, serving to support connection for lounge or
work needs.
*This project was done collaboratively with Wiktoria Debicki.

2221 GREEN WALL BY LOUNGE SEATING
The green wall was to add a sense of plant life into the
space for relaxation and bringing the outside inside. The
tag line “connect, lounge, work” is a tag line by the brand of
Ruby Ingram for the workers in the tenant building to have
a space inviting to them.

The given mass was 16’-0” wide
by 32’-0” long by 16’-0” tall as a
solid that became manipulated and
transformedintoaseriesofspacesfor
a place for reflection and meditation
using up to ten operations inspired
by the operative verbs described in
Anthony Di Mari and Nora Yoo’s book
Operative Design.
The driving idea behind this design
was to create a space that would
transition from tight and enclosed
to open and free by also including
light. Due to project requirements
the space is made out of basic lines
and shapes which help the space feel
interactive but also clam. A person
can enter into the space in multiple
ways, but the intended way is to walk
threw like a maze to then have a seat
at the end to enjoy the view.

Original shape started with a rect-
angle at a size of 32’x16x’16’.
The shape is fractured into three
separate cubes with two feet be-
tween each.
Original Shape Step 1
The first cube is compressed down
to 8’ by 8’ to have a face of a perfect
square.
Step 2
The first cube has now been made
into a ramp that goes from 0’ to 8’.
Step 3
Moved onto the second cube by
separating them into two parts with
a 2’ gab down the middle.
Step 4
Extruded the second two cube
down into heights of 13’ and 10’
Step 5
Shaved off both parts of cube two
to have an angle that creates a
walkway where there is now a dif-
ference in space felt.
Extruded an angled entryway all the
way threw in cube three at a width
of 4’.
Step 6 Step 7
Graded the top portion of the mass
to create seating for any persons
who visits this space. Specifically, to
be able to watch the sun set.
Step 8
Extruded a box from the top all the
way threw the mass.
Step 9
Extruded an entrance for a hide-
away space that is 3’ tall to enter
the space to lay on your back and
look at the stars.
