create something specific to a client’s needs. Having the ability to turn an idea into a tangible meaningful
space that improves someone’s overall health and wellbeing is the most important opportunity that design
gives me. A design is successful when it utilizes the principles of design and code compliance in a balanced
way that solves a design dilemma. It is my personal goal as a design professional to use my skills and
knowledge to solve client problems and be an effective agent of change in every design project I work on.

5. Project Description:
This healthcare facility’s primary use is for adults with cerebral palsy.
There were several different medical specialties in one building
so space planning was extremely important when designing this
space. The client specified which facilities needed to adjacent
to each other, but as a designer I had to consider things like
acoustics, patient privacy, life safety, occupancy load, and wheel
chair accessibility when doing the space planning of the space.
Wheelchair accessibility was especially important since the majority
of the patients are handicap. Finishes and equipment were carefully
chosen in order to follow healthcare guidelines, class b occupancy
codes, and fire safety regulations. The design of the space needed
to feel inviting, comfortable, and easy to navigate.

To present my design, I chose the four spaces that would best explain my design
concept. Each perspective view and floor plan was rendered using Sketchup Pro
and Adobe Photoshop.
6. Patient privacy and ADA counters were extremely important in designing the medical specialties nurses
station. The floor plan call-out and elevations were all created in Revit.
Life safety plans are especial important in a
facility where the person inside might not be
able to help themselves. The floor plan, data
table, and legends where all created in Revit.

9. To show the final design of the space, I used Sketchup to create a 3D Model and rendered
specific views to show what the public dining and bar area would look like when completed.
I then created presentation boards using Adobe InDesign to show the overall details of the
space
Concept boards and bubble diagrams were used to help with the space planning portion of the project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
For this project, I created a Farm to Table
restaurant design for a pre-existing building
located in down town Statesboro. The goal of
this design was to create a sustainable restaurant
that venders from the Statesboro Farmer's Market
could sell their product, and locals could come
and enjoy it. The design concept was inspired by
a bee hive and the natural aspect that enable
it to function so efficiently. The construction
documents where created using Revit, and the
renders were created using Sketchup and Adobe
Photoshop.
Hospitality Design
The layout of the private/public dining areas reflect the design concept by
creating hexagon patterned table-clusters. The bar shape was also inspired by
the design concept. In order to show as much information as possible, Schedules
and Legends were very detailed and visual.

the kitchen staff would have access to everything
they needed while having to cross each others path
as little as possible. The kitchen callout and equipment
legends were all created using Revit.

12. Design Concept:
Inspired by the diverse ecosystem of unique plants and animals, this carpet is designed to illustrate two
viewpoints of a coral reef. The pre-function area is designed to show a bird's eye view. I incorporated the
organic shapes and wanted the color scheme to reflect the bright blues of the Coral Sea in to the design of
this space. Rippling lines encourage guest to transition further into the venue. This part of the design looks as
though the viewer is within the beds of the reef. Just as coral reef provide a space for species to co-inhabit
one place together, a ballroom allows for people from all backgrounds to co-inhabit and come together
during times of celebration.
Project description:
This project was submitted for the Durkan Discover Contest, in
which I came up with a carpet design for a hospitality ballroom
and prefunction area. I used inspiration sketches and images
as the graphics through Adobe Illustrator. The perspectives of
the carpet actually featured in the space were created using
Sketchup.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
During my internship, I assisted with the
selection of light fixtures and furniture,
hand drafted furniture plans, drafted
and finalized the finish schedules, and I
developed proposals, specifications, and
purchase orders for this specific project. I
created a 3D model of the project to show
the client what the actual finishes they
selected would look like once installed.

16. Project Description:
For this project, I was required to develop a
design for a single Native American woman's
home. I research the client's culture, Ojibwe
Indian, to help me with the process of space
planning and selection of FF&E. The client
need a space that had clear public and pri-
vate areas, as well as be ADA accessible for
when her handicapped grandmother would
come to visit. Universal design concepts and
proxemics were used as well during the de-
sign process in this project.

Learning to draft by hand requires knowledge in scale,

22. Fixtures Used in Design
Project Description:
This design is for a non-profit, volunteer
project for downtown Statesboro
development authority. I was given a
budget of $500 max for one fixture and
an overall budget of $1000 for all the
fixtures in the house. The fixtures selected
keep energy efficiency in mind and must
come from a list of local venders that
could donate the fixtures chosen. The
construction documents were created
using Revit.

Design Concept:
The lighting design for this space is inspired by the rail road tracks located near
the home’s renovation site. Using warm bronze metal finishes will enable to
home to be connected to its surroundings in a subtle, yet tasteful way. Fixtures
contain incandescent bulbs to give the home a warm lighting scheme. To be
energy efficient, three way switches, LED bulbs, and combination fixtures are used
wherever applicable.
23. Project Description:
For this project, I was required to design a wallpaper pattern inspired by
a specific historical design period. After creating the wallpaper design
you see below, I created a 3D model, using Sketchup, that showed
what the wallpaper would look like on an actual wall. The 3D model also
contains furniture specific to that time period as well as popular finishes.
This wallpaper design is inspired by post world war Scandinavian designs
like the artichoke light fixture and the architecture of the history of science
museum in Great Brittan. This project allowed me to apply my knowledge
from other foundation courses and create a new interesting design.
