Plant corn kernels 1 1/2 inches deep and 6 inches apart. They will sprout in about 10 days and grow stalks about 2 meters tall with developing corn cobs. The corn is mature when the kernels are brown, dry, and hard with a black layer visible when scratched. Cut the cobs and store for 8-12 months before removing and packaging the dried kernels to sell in shops. To make popcorn, melt butter and olive oil in a pot and add kernels to pop on the stove, shaking occasionally, or follow microwave instructions on pre-packaged packets. Popular popcorn flavors include caramel, rainbow, butter, plain, and chocolate.
