to each child

4. When the children are ready pour
some of the colored white
vinegar into the glass and watch
the baking soda fizz up over the
glass.
5. Since everything is non-toxic the
kids can feel free to play in the
fizz and foam
11. Glitter Playdough
Supplies:
• 2 Cups of Flour
• 1 Cup of Salt
• 2 Cup Water
• 2 Tablespoons of Vegetable
Oil
• 4 Teaspoon of Cream of Tartar
• ½-1 Cup of Glitter
(multicolored)
Instructions:
1. Mix all food ingredients in the pot
(children can help if playdough not
already made). It will resemble
thick pancake batter.
2. Add glitter to mixture
3. Cook on stove at medium heat until
mixture forms into a ball (stir
constantly)
4. Place ball on counter to cool
5. Knead the dough to smooth out
any bumps
6. Divide the dough into mini
containers so kids can have own
dough to play with and take home.
12. Pin Midnight on the Clock
Supplies:
• (1) Giant piece of white foam or
(2) smaller pieces
• Clear packaging tape
• Double sided tape
• Black foam
• Black and red markers
• Blindfold
• Scissors
• Large round pan to trace
Instructions:
1. Use packaging tape to tape the (2)
pieces of foam together to make a
larger square shape
2. Use the large rounded pan to trace a
circle
3. Use the black marker and write all of
the numbers on the clock
4. Use the red marker to draw and color a
small circle in the middle
5. Cut out clock hands with the black
foam (one per child)
6. Blindfold the child and apply the
double sided tape to the cut out clock
hands
7. Spin the child and send them toward
the clock to “pin” their clock hands on
8. The closest child to get them placed
correctly to midnight wins
13. Chocolate Cone Noise Makers
Supplies:
• Baking chocolate chips for melting
• Sugar cones (one per child)

Instructions:
1. Melt chocolate down
2. Dip the sugar cone in pointy side down and
cover cone with chocolate
3. Apply sprinkles immediately while
chocolate is still wet

5. After cones are completely dry, use the
tube icing and let children write names or
year on the cone
6. Let the icing dry
7. Give them to children as they watch the ball
drop and have them bite the pointy end off
and eat it
8. As a celebration when the ball drops they
can blow through the hole and make noise
with the cones
9. Then the children can eat and enjoy their
noise makers

4. Refrigerate until they are
completely set
5. Cut the Jell-O into squares or fun

Instructions to Make:
1. Take a party cup and cut the bottom
out of the cup making it resemble a
tube
2. Make a knot closing the deflated
balloon
3. Cut the balloon about 2.5 inches from
the knot
4. Stretch the balloon over the hole at the
bottom of the cup so that the knot is in
the middle. The fit should be tight
enough that it should stay on it’s own.
5. For extra support place a piece of tape
around the edge of the balloon securing
it to the cup.
6. Then place the marshmallow in the cup.
Pull the knot of the balloon back and
then release causing the marshmallow
to shoot into the air.
18. Marshmallow Shooting Tag Game
Instructions to Play:
1. Each child gets their own
marshmallow shooter and a snack
sized Ziploc bag of 25 mini
marshmallows.
2. The kids are divided up into two
teams and the goal is to shoot
marshmallows at the opposite team.
3. If a child is hit by the opposite team
they must freeze until a member of
their own team tags them (with their
hand) to unfreeze them.
4. This continues until all
marshmallows have been shot and
the team with the least people
frozen wins.
5. Everyone is rewarded with an extra
bag of marshmallows to eat
19. DIY Microphones
Supplies:
• Empty Paper Towel Roll Tube
• Scissors
• Black Paint/Paintbrushes
• Any kind of decorations (stickers,
glitter, construction paper, etc.)

Instructions:
1. Trim paper towel tube roll to fit the
child’s hand
2. Cut a vertical slit at the bottom of the
tube. Overlap the cut portions of the
tube, creating a slight cone shape and
secure with hot glue (parent’s or staff
help required)
3. Paint the tube black or whatever color
the child desires
4. While the paint is drying have the child
form the top of the microphone by
taking a large piece of aluminum foil and
scrunch it into the shape of a large ball.
5. Place the foil ball on top of the tube and
attach with the use of hot glue (once
again parents or staff help required)
6. Once dry, the child can decorate the
tube any way that they would like.

22. Let the Ball Drop Hot Potato
Instructions:
1. 15 minutes before the ball drops have all the
kids sit in a circle on the floor in front of the
television where the Times Square Ball Drop is
being shown.
2. Play some music and they all have to pass the
beanbag around in the circle
3. Whenever the music stops the person holding
the beanbag takes a slide back away from the
circle (they are out of the game).
4. This continues until there are 2 or 3 kids left by
the time the countdown for the ball dropping is
being announced.
5. The person holding the beanbag when the
countdown is over and it is officially the New
Year gets to pop the Happy New Years Balloon.
6. To celebrate the New Year everyone gets to
wear their 2016 glasses, eat their edible
noisemakers, and eat their Hershey kisses from
the treat bags.

then the next group goes
5. This continuous to go back and
forth until the time frame is up or

Glow in the Dark

• 5 empty 2 liter soda bottles
• Glow in the Dark Paint

Instructions:
1. Paint all 2 liter bottles with glow in the
dark paint and let them dry
2. Set bottles standing up fairly close
together and mark with tape about a yard
from the bottles
3. Connect all the glow necklaces to create
rings
4. Turn off all but one light in the room. Give
each child 10 necklaces and their goal is to
throw the necklace and have it land
around a bottle.
