2. Spacing Out
Spacing Out means when
someone is talking to you and
your mind wanders off and
you ignore them.
Some Examples…
You are in class and the teacher is
talking and you just wondering
about something random.
Your friend is talking to you and
then you just space out and then
your friend asks you something
and you go ”What”.
3. Pretend Listening
Pretend Listening is when someone is
talking to you and you are responding but
you really don’t care.
An example is when you are with your friend is
talking to you and you just keep saying “cool”
“ok”.
4. Selective Listening
Selective Listening means you
only listen to the parts of the
story you want to hear.
One example is when your friend
is telling you something really cool
and all you hear are the really cool
parts.
5. Word Listening
Word Listening
means when you pay
attention to what
someone is saying but
you only listen to that
persons words and
not the true meaning
of the words.
6. Self-Centered Listening
Self-Centered
Listening means
when see something
from are own point
view.
Some example is when your friend is talking about something
And you judge what they are saying.
Another one is when you give advice from your past and not really listen to
the other person.
The last one is probing and you do this by digging up emotion's that the
person isn’t ready to share.
