• 1. A political party is a group people who share
the same ideas about the way the country should
be governed.
• 2. They work together to introduce new laws, the
alter old laws.

• 3.Political Parties have policies. A good example
of a policy is “education must be free for all
youngsters between the age of 5 to 18 years of
age”.
• 4.Usually, when a political party wants to change
Laws and Regulations they have to put their idea
to all the Members of Parliament. A vote then
takes place and if the majority of MPs vote ‘YES’
then the change to the Law/Regulation takes place.

• Political parties perform
an important task in government.
• They bring people together to achieve
control of the government, develop policies
favorable to their interests or the groups that
support them, and organize and persuade
voters to elect their candidates to office.

• Parties contest elections.
• Parties form and run governments in country .
• Parties put different policies and programmers.
• Parties play a decisive in making laws for a
country .
• Party shape public opinion by raising and
highlighting issues.
• Parties provide people access to gov.t machinery
and welfare scheme implemented.

Single party system:
• A system in which a single political party has the right to
form the government. Example : republic of china :
communist party of china .
Two party system:
• Two major political parties dominate politics within a
government. Example : U.S.A , U. K.

9. Multi party system :Multi party system :
• A system in which multiple political parties have
the capacity to gain control of government
offices.
• Example : Pakistan, Japan , India , Germany ,
Brazil , Spain , etc…

10. Advantages :Advantages :
Political parties raise the voice of the people.
 Political parties encourage Political participation
Stability in the Government
Organized opposition

11. Disadvantages:Disadvantages:
• National interests are harmed by the selfish propaganda
of the Parties
• Political Parties crush individuality
• Wrong education of the people
