A great microphone to use with the iPad and excellent software to use with it. Using the iRig Mic and iRig Recorder or the Vocalive softeware you will have great sounding recording for making podcasts or it is brilliant for singers too.
3. Good microphone that
connects easily to the iPad
It also gives you a socket so that you
can still plug in some headphones.Very
useful as otherwise you wouldn’t be
able to hear your recordings for the
iPad.
4. Recording with the iRig Microphone
using Vocalive.
The free version is a single track
recorder but you can upgrade it to
do 8 tracks
You get a couple of effects for free
Buy more if you want to
You can also use it train your voice.
Vocalive - Connect your iRig mic and record your songs with this app
5. Recording with the iRig Microphone
using Vocalive.
Here I chose the Male De-Esser
As it has reverb included it is more
for a singer than it is for a podcaster.
This is where you do all the settings
to make the sound just like you want
it.
Want to sound like a Fat Frog or a
Dizzy Duck?
Vocalive - Set up your sound for your song with the stomp boxes
6. Recording with the iRig Microphone using
Vocalive.
Bring in a song and loop it so you can
practice getting the sound right.
Remove the vocals off the song and you
can do a karaoke
Add the song to the recording space
7. Vocalive Settings

Noise Filter
Latency
No Feedback...
Buy extra bits in the App to make it
do more
8. iRig Recorder
A recorded sound
marked ready for trimming
You can play the sound in this window
too
Or send it to the processor
to do things to the sound
9. iRig Recorder
The sound sent to the Processor
This one is to smooth the smooth the sound.
Choose the amount of smoothing
Test it with the Preview
Apply the effect when you are happy
The sound can be exported out later.
10. iRig Recorder
Choose the method of sending out the finished
recording.
Probably you will want to do more editing with
it.
So you will need the paid for upgrade which lets
you export at the highest quality.
11. iRig Recorder
You have to have the upgrade to be able to
export out the files in the High Quality
format.
Worth getting the upgrade and not terribly
expensive.
12. iRig
Microphone
Review
Having a combination of good software and the
good hardware to go with it is what it all comes
down to in the end.
I will use the iRig Recorder with the iRig mic for a
quick recording.
For doing a recording where I want fancy effects or
just have a little more perfect then I can use Vocalive.
