Plato was a student of Socrates Socrates believed in absolute truth  Plato believed that true knowledge cannot be achieved if the subject is in a constant state of change
Plato was a rationalist Plato believed that ideas are available to us through thought, while phenomena are available to us through our senses  Believed thought was superior to senses
