Buddhism Is An Indispensable Element Of Chinese And...
Buddhism has been the main religion of china for several thousands of years. In fact, Buddhism is
an indispensable element of Chinese philosophy and literature. As we all know, Buddhism
originated in India and first spread to China around 100BC. Nevertheless, (Mahayana) Buddhism in
China separated itself from the mainstream Buddhismand created a new form of Bodhisattva
precept instead of following the Indian Vinaya precept. In fact , the distinct Chinese history and
culture played significant roles in the development and formation of Mahayana Buddhism . The
change of Chinese society also had a great impact on the doctrine and status of Mahayana
Buddhism. In this paper, I will illustrate the reason why Buddhism was widely accepted by Chinaas
an alien religion , analyze how the indigenous philosophy such as Taoism and Confucianism
affected the Mahayana concept and find the relationship between Mahayana Buddhism and
Chinese Imperialism. Chinese has always been a confident nation most of the time. As they
believe that China is the Celestial Empire of the world, Chinese rulers and scholars are reluctant
to accept heterodox knowledge, especially religion. For hundreds of years, Confucianism had
been the essence of Chinese Philosophy. However, By the middle of the second century. A.D, the
great Han Empire was on the edge of disintegration. The upper level of Han socio political order
was riven by conflict and the elite was frustrated by uncertainty . On the other

The Murderous Black Plague
The Murderous Black Plague 25 50 million people. That is the amount of casualties caused by the
Black Death, it was brought to Europe in the 1340 s by ships returning from the eastern side of the
world. However, most of the men on the ships were already dead or nearly dead, sick with the
terrible virus. Although the Black Deathis very lethal and difficult to survive, they have now found
ways to prevent the virus from infecting anyone else. To start off, the cause of this epidemic, it
was given to the people of Europe by flea infested rats and mice. The rats and mice had a disease
called Yersinia pestis. The disease was easily given to people through fleas that were feeding off of
the rats, and they often called them black rats . Even though,

Literary Techniques Used in The Storm by Kate Chopin
This short story was really straight forward until it got to the end, where it had a twist, which
made me pick the story to write on. Kate Chopin did an outstanding job using symbolism, but this
novel is not for all ages, if you know what I mean. How the setting, tone and theme all tie all
together is what makes the story different from the others.
Is the storm literal or symbolic? This particular question really stood out and really made me think
and analysis the story. For example, the question asks about the storm if it is literal or symbolic. The
storm is a super obvious symbol. It s involved in practically every element of the story. First off,
it s the title. Second, it plays a huge role in the plot, forming the beginning and the end of the
story. It also plays a really important part in the middle by bringing Calixta and Alcee together,
pushing them into each other s arms and giving them the time and space to get physical before the
world outside returns to normal. Also, the storm is a frightening occurrence in the natural world.
Alcee describes it as a cyclone (Chopin 2.13), while Bobinot can tell right away that its sombre,
sinister, and threatening (Chopin 1.1). Chopin describes the rain pouring down with a repetition
and regularity that suggests rain itself. Of course, it s when all that rain is coming down most
passionately and brutally that Calixta and Alcee are also getting more and more passionate;
exploring their feelings for one another to the

Worldview s Ability To Work In Global Health
The worldview an individual holds is weighted and manipulated by the experiences, morals
/values, customs, and aspects individuals develop during life. Through these factors and more, a
person s worldview differentiates from another. This then creates principles, questions, views,
and cultures that are/can be shared by communities and society as a whole. In a simpler context
of words, a person s worldview is the way they see the world, and how this perspective shapes the
way a person lives. When transferring these fundamental aspects to my own life, I am then able to
expand the effect in relation to how it guides my ability to work in Global Health. This established
awareness then allows me to modify my attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors in order to further my

Stillness Of Venice Analysis
In Marino Faliero, Lioni s soliloquy describing Venice at nightfall illustrates the intangibility and
ephemerality of Venice through emphasising the stillness of its waters. His speech functions
dramatically on two levels which might seem in opposition: it humanises the previously
anonymous patricians whilst simultaneously demonstrating Lioni s (and thus the aristocracy s)
innate inability to understand Venice. Whilst Lioni is prompted by a quiet and directionless
unease to leave the party early, his view overlooking Venice is of a city entirely at peace. Around
me are the stars and waters Worlds mirror d in the ocean. (IV.i.68 9) Lioni s observation
dematerialises Venice: not only is Lioni entirely mistaken in his depiction of a city in peaceful
unity, the city he is looking at is perhaps not even real, merely a reflection of the real Venice.
Byron implicitly questions whether we can trust Lioni s perspective at all through destabilising
Venice as simply a world mirror d in the ocean , much like Emerson s depiction of Venice as a
place one can live in for months and never understand. Like altars, ranged along the broad canal,
Seem each a trophy of some mighty deed Rear d up, from out the waters. (79 81) The artificial
stillness of Venice is compounded as Lioni s soliloquy develops. The only movement here (in
contrast to the continual animation of Beppo s Venice) is the pillars rearing up from out of the

Christ Birth Research Paper
Christmas is arguably the biggest holiday in the western world. It is the holiday that brings forth
the spirt of joy, giving s and love. Christmas is also the year that brings forth remembrance of
Jesus Christ s birth. However, the nativity story, the story of Christ birth, has much more meaning
to it then what people reflect on it as. When the Nativity story is told it seems the main focus or the
happy ending is always the savior birth. That arguably is not what the Bible fully attended the focus
to remain on. The Nativity story is more than just a story about Christbirth; it is a metaphor that
paints the picture of the two people s faith in God and ultimately the gospel in a nutshell. Many

Mary knew that Joseph would most likely leave her due to her mysteries pregnancy and a
tarnished reputation. Although, those things are very important factors to look at when
considering the risk Mary took, when she accepted to birth the Messiah, the most significate risk
Mary had taken was the endangerment of her own life. According to the Old Testament law, if a
women failed to remain physically pure before marriage she would be brought to the door of her
father s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath
wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father s house: so shalt thou put evil away from
among you. And if the women was betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and
lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them
with stones that they die. Again, Mary knew the challenges she had to face. She had nothing but
a story of an angel to give to Joseph and the towns people. The possibility of Joseph and the
towns people believing that Mary, a poor servant, miraculously became pregnant by the Holy Spirit
is as slim as it would be now. In fact, most would conclude that Mary was covering up an immoral
relationship with Roman soldier. Yet, Mary kept the same attitude that her son had in Gethsemane
when He prayed, not my will, but thine, be done. Regardless,

Abstract
There are number of issues facing healthcare in the United States that are not exclusive to one
area and often occur during routine tasks. Although many of these issues are addressed on a daily

concern for medical staff each day.
Because to Err is human, operating room staff members should have fail safe provisions in place in

There are a number of potential causes of popliteal and femoral nerve block errors that can be
broken down into process factors and system factors. System factors focus on the lack of checklists,
and the exclusion of certain surgical teams members. Whereas, process factors focus on things like,
inadequate communication with team members or one patient having multiple procedures done.

Why We Are Better Than Colleges
Senior year is the time for making choices. Some of these choices are going to be small and
others affect the rest of our lives. The biggest and most important choice is which college to
attend. Do you want to stay close to home or go far away? The biggest question is what size of
college is right for you. My two top choices are Universityof Bluffton and University of Findlay. I
think they are both great colleges but one is definitely a better fit for me. The University of
Findlay is a better fit for me over University of Bluffton because it is close to home, but is still
large enough to give me the large campus feel I am looking for in a college. The hardest part of
going to college is the expenses today. Most students have to take out loans which leaves them in
debt all of their lives. University of Bluffton s tuition is $44,008 ( CollegeSimply. ) which is
slightly more than University of Findlay which costs $42,335 ( Cost of Attending the University of
Findlay . ). The difference is $1,673, which in the big picture does not seem that much. I am hoping

Persuasive Essay On Pet Adoption
Pet Adoption AD s
There are numerous reasons why one should make wise decision before adopting a dog. The
first you get to save a life by choosing to adopt. In the United Sates, more than two million dogs are
available to be adopted every year. One of the reason there are so many dogs up for adoption is a
lot of owners surrender their pets to the animal shelter. There are also benefits to adopting a dog
from a shelter, it helps pay for the shelter to save more dogs and to find homes for other dogs.
There is also a misconception that s animals in the shelter have something wrong with them. There
is numerous reason as to why someone would surrender a dog to the shelter, other than health
problems. They also make sure the dogs are healthy before they leave the shelter. Also, it is usually
cheaper to purchase a dog from an animal rescue center than a pet store.
Another reason people adopt dogs for a pet is that he can help improve the mood of their owners.
By adopting a dog, you can help improve yours and the dog s life. But you also must be careful
about where you look for a dog. You can look in the paper about adoption places. But the main
way people will look for pet adoptions is online. There are over thousands of places to adopt a
pet from. You want to make sure that the place you adopt from has references from previous

Behavior-Specific Praise
Teachers of students with or at risk for emotional or behavioral disabilities (EBD) face countless
stressful professional challenges throughout their careers. Students with EBD are being scattered
amongst General Education classrooms and can often exhibit behavioral changes in which many
teachers who have not had proper training or experience in managing may find overwhelming. One
strategy to help maintain engagement and reduce behavioral challenges in a classroom that
includes students with or at risk for EBD is to increase the rate of BehaviorSpecific Praise (BSP).
Offering students praise in the form of a statement which explains which acceptable behavior they
are being praised for can enhance the student s ability to remain on task and engaged in classroom
activities and discussions. Professional development in the area of BSP is necessary in developing
teachers who are more prepared to effectively face the challenges of having students with EBD.
Many strategies have been suggested for training teachers in the use of BSP, each with different
methods of presenting the information to educators. The researchers in this study believe that

Comparison Of Thomas Hobbes And Locke s Political Philosophy
Thomas Hobbes was an English Philosopher who was born in 1588. Hobbes is best known for
his book Leviathan, which was published in 1651. Hobbes political philosophy can best be
described as philosophical absolutism, the absolute rule of a people by a ruler. The book
Leviathan was based on the idea that a government should be too strong for the people to
overthrow and can rule the people with absolute power. Hobbes chose a Leviathan to represent
the government that has absolute power and is strong enough to never be overthrown. Another
famous English philosopher whose ideas are often compared to Hobbes is, John Locke. Locke
was born in England in 1632 and is best known for his work Two Treatises of Government, a book
in which Locke outlines his views on government and the role it should play. Unlike Hobbes,
Locke s political philosophyis best described as philosophical constitutionalism, which is the belief
that the people should have control of the government and not a single ruler. Locke s political
ideals are the foundation on which the United States Constitution was written. (Uzgalis, 2017)
While these two great philosophers do not share the same political ideology, there were a couple
of ideas that the two did agree upon. Hobbes and Locke both believed in the Social Contract, which
is the idea that individuals give up certain rights to be protected by the government. Hobbes
describes the Social Contract as the mutual transferring of rights. (Lloyd, 2014) Where the

(Southeast Wisconsin Statistics, 2014)
Currently, the Wheaton System in southeast Wisconsin is divided into the North,
Central, and South markets. Each market has its own management team that reports to the system

Radiology, Emergency, Surgical, Nursing, etc.
My role in this organization is the coordinator for interventional radiology at one of the three
hospitals in the North market. I report to my supervisor at my hospital, who in turn reports to the

has begun to standardize practices among the different interventional radiology departments. This

What Is Materialism In The City By David Harvey
In 1968, David Harvey published a book titled Rebel Cities: From the Right to the City to the
Urban Revolution, where he argues the importance of changing the current way of urban living.
With great influence from Henri Lefebvre, Harvey offers an anti capitalist rebellion against today s
treatment of those living in poverty. In Rebel Cities, Harvey uses the term right to the city . He
states that this right is empty in a sense, implying that it is a right that does not have a definition or
meaning. Harvey states that this right represents a collective struggle for the people who have
helped in the building and populating of their city. The right to the city is the right that should allow
this community of people to decide how their city will continue in terms of urbanization. According
to Harvey, the people who have built and constructed the infrastructure, the families, and other
cultural and social communities who have aided in the improvement of the... Show more content on

Characteristics Of Aeneas A Hero
Despite his accomplishments and the glory associated with his life, Aeneas only achieves the status
of hero through divine intervention, and this god given position causes him just as much grief as it
does splendor.
What is a hero? We would like to think that a hero is someone who has achieved some fantastic
goal or status, or maybe someone who has accomplished a great task. Heroes find themselves in
situations of great pressure and act with nobility and grace. Though the main character of Virgil s
Aeneid, Aeneas, is such a person, it is not by his own doing. He encounters situations in which
death is near, in which love, hate, peace, and war come together to cause both good and evil. In
these positions he conducts himself with honor, by going along with what the gods want. Only
then goes on to pave the way for the Roman Empire. His deeds, actions, and leadership would never
have come to be if it were not for the gods. The gods took special interest in Aeneas, causing him
misfortune in some cases, giving him assistance in others. On the whole, the gods constantly
provide perfect opportunities for Aeneas to display his heroism. Without them, Aeneas would not be
the hero he is. This gift does not come without a price, though; he must endure the things heroes
endure to become what they are. Despite his accomplishments and the glory associated with his life,
Aeneas only achieves the status of hero through divine intervention, and this god given position

Like The Greedy Wolf Analysis
In the years of 1807 to 1831, tragedy struck for The Blackfoot Indians, the British, and American

took place at the time, but did these events actually happen? The article does not go into detail on
the impact it made upon the leaders and people involved, nor does it give the most accurate, in
stone details. This article places emphases on a collection of documents rather than an informational

In paragraph one, disaster hit the city of St. Louis on the fifteenth of July in 1823. News eventually

A Reflection On What Makes A Socially Intelligent Leader
In this paper, I will be writing a final reflection on what makes a socially intelligent leader. This
will include a reflection on the article called, Social Intelligence and the Biology of Leadership

leader attributes and describe them. Lastly, I will discuss my plan for further self development to

Goleman and Boyatzis write, ...certain things leaders do specifically, exhibit empathy and become
attuned to others moods literally affect both their own brain chemistry and that of their followers
(p. 76). This is a finding from research that shows how individual minds combine together to work
as a single system. This means that people who are great leaders have the ability to act with a
behavior that has an influential force on brain interconnectedness. Furthermore, being a leader is
more about developing an interest in people that will nurture positive feelings in them. This will
lead them to provide better cooperation and support back to the leader (Goleman Boyatzis, 2008, p.

A typically leader is thought of a person who is in charge, controls others, assigns tasks, deadlines,

often unproductive both for the leader and the followers. They do not have a team environment and

Contemporary Art Research Paper
The early Renaissance is often hailed as a period of artistic detail. However, critics might argue that
at least as far as subject matter goes, the Renaissance very much alludes to the religious themes of
contemporary art. What, then, were other differences from contemporary art in comparison to
Renaissance?
Despite the similarities to modern art surrounding subject matter, there can be no doubt that that
Renaissance artists broke the static mold of contemporary art. First of all, though the themes of
modern art have remained fairly constant, the style of the Renaissance was unique in its
combination of modern and ancient influences. However, what is most remarkable about the art of
the Renaissance is the constant evolution of techniques and ... Show more content on

The sculptures created in the Renaissance era saw the use of new techniques and styles that were
never used before. The artwork had a huge impact of humanism on the different artists in this
era. Starting around the 14th century and ending around the beginning of the 17th century the
Renaissance era art was all about realistic linear perspective where the artist would observe
objects from close and far and then paint it. This enabled the artist to get a lot of depth in his or
her sculptures. Also, the art changed to depicting joy of human emotions and pleasures of life.
On the other hand, art of today, also known as contemporary art, started a few years after World
War II up to present day. During this period, different art movements occurred that influenced
artists all over the world. In the 1950 and 1960, contemporary art was influenced by movements
like Abstract, Expressionism, Pop Art, Neo Dada, Minimalism and New York School. Some of

Examples Of Categorisation
Categorisation is not a matter to be taken lightly. There is nothing more basic than categorisation to
our thought, perception, action and speech. Every time we see something as kind of thing, for
example, a tree, we are categorising. Whenever we reason about kinds of things (...) we are
employing categories. Whenever we intentionally perform any kind of action (...) we are using
categories. (Lakoff 1987: 6)
We categorise all physical objects and motor activities we come across in our everyday life and we
make decisions based on those categories. Without the ability to categorise, we could not function at
all, either in the physical world or in our social and intellectual lives. An understanding of how we
categorise is central to any understanding of how we think and how we function, and therefore
central to an understanding of what makes us human . (Lakoff 1987: 6) Although traditional
Aristotelian view on categories provides answers that differ from the recent research, both classical
and cognitive theories see categorisation as crucial to understanding how human beings make sense
of experience and how they communicate. Categorization is basic to human thought, perception,
action, and speech. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Campaign Game
Pg. 263 277
The Campaign Game
As a fun fact, the term campaign has its origins from the military as this was the name given for
when the general had a strategy towards accomplishing a big goal. o The whole point of a
campaign in politics is that the primary nominee must create their own image of exemplary
leadership and confidence so they gain more supporters as Election Day grows closer and closer. o
Technology also has started to play a major role within the political system of the United States as a
whole.
Back in the good old days, the way campaigns would work is that the primary nominees would
get their own train and travel the nation to speak and visit as many people as they possibly could
afford. o In today s world, the live television broadcasts of the nominee s campaign is the primary
way messages are spread to majority of the nation. o This has a bad side to it though because this
gives the media too much power and the media then begins to influence who to vote for rather than
the candidates themselves. o In addition to this, the creation the World Wide Web further increased
the amount of dependency campaigns have upon technology. o In fact, one of the very first things
primary nominees take the time to do is create a website so that the population are able to see their
stance on all the primary issues occurring.
The use of technology has also had a great impact upon the funding for these type of campaigns. o
Back when Obama was running, majority of

Nuremburg Code Of Human Cloning
Cloning is the production of one or more individual organisms that are genetically identical. The
copied organism, which has the same genetic code as the original, is called a clone. In the last two
decades, cloning technology has been becoming more refined, and has been broadly applied in
agriculture, humanhealth, and many other fields. Breeding by cloningmeans being able to directly
reproduce an animal with a desirable set of genetic traits. The world s most famous clone is Dolly
the sheep, who was the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell. This idea of being able to
clone animals was encouraged by wanting to bring back extinct animals such as the wholly
mammoth and dinosaurs, and maintain endangered species. Hence, it logically... Show more content

Strategies For Prenatal Development
Asherin, Nichole WA1, PSY102 Development is a lifelong process consisting of four main stages
in which life goes through. Each stage of life has many ways of benefiting that particular time that
an individual is developing in. These show ways that individuals can determine for themselves what
is and is not beneficial to his/her development. These recommended strategies will psychologically
benefit the well being and growth of an individual from prenatal development through adulthood.
Prenatal development is the first stage that any individual being goes through. This stage is from
conception to birth. Due to mothers carrying the embryo, teratogens can be affected in this stage.
The book entails that individuals should avoid Teratogens because... Show more content on

One of the first developments in this stage is puberty, so the first strategy for this period is being
aware of when an individual is to begin puberty. This is important because it is likely that a young
woman will start developing before a young man. This may cause bullying and social confusion.
The book says that women tend to develop breasts by the age of ten, as well as having the first
menstrual period by the age of twelve and a half. While young men have their peak height spurt at
age fourteen and can start growing facial hair by age sixteen (Hockenbury et.al, 2016). Another
important part of the adolescent time period is social development. This is a time where the
individual finds their identity and explores new opportunities. The strategy to take home with this
new development is understanding that part of this stage will include peer relationships just as
much as parental relationships. Also, keeping in mind that young adults will experiment with new
relationships. The book says that parent adolescent relationships tend to be positive, as romantic
and sexual relationships also become increasingly important throughout the adolescent year
(Hockenbury et.al, 2016). All of these new experiments are beneficial to the growth of the

Discourse And Abortion
Plight of the Abandoned
Discourse is a tool for discovery and our greatest ally in our pursuit of ending child abandonment. In
this essay, I will briefly discuss possible solutions to alleviating this dire situation. Furthermore, I
will be discussing the ways in which child abandonment affects these unwanted children.
The child abandonment dilemma is a plague that affects all societies. Unfortunately, most women
are reluctant to discuss socially taboo topics such as child abandonment and abortion, let alone
confess to having partaken in it themselves. Herein lies our greatest obstacle. A pregnant mother
who attempts to conceal her pregnancy and subsequent childbirth, does not receive the necessary
medical attention which is required to ensure the well being of her newborn infant (6, 1). This
results in unsafe or unsanitary birthing conditions which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to this, education should be aimed at adults and children alike, regardless of gender. A
study of sexual and reproductive health conducted at schools in Kelantan, Malaysia revealed
shocking statistics that could have perilous implications (5). According to the researcher s findings,
69.96% of the students were unaware that pregnancy could occur after having unprotected sex only
once, and 64.4% indicated that they learn about sexual health from their peers (5). Misinformation
and inadequate information on sexual and reproductive health are catalysts for dire situations such
as unwanted pregnancies and child abandonment.
In summation, child abandonment leads to damaging ramifications for the unwanted child.
Awareness and availability of support systems such as baby hatches, are crucial to prevention. Child
abandonment is a plague on society that not only forsakes infants, but also the adults they will

questions about what that means for their child s life. With a growing prevalence rate of ASD,
many parents face the similar struggle in determining what type of treatment will provide the best

They hypothesized that the behavioral treatment group would have better outcomes after one year
when compared to those in an equally intensive, eclectic special education treatment group. The
study consisted of 25 children age four to seven who had a diagnosis of childhood autism from both

of the start of the study. All participants had an IQ at or above 50 on the Wechsler Preschool and

Non German Laws Essay
The Holocaust, defined as the systematic annihilation of six million Jews (and other non
Germans) by the Nazi regime began with the rise of Nazi Germany ( A Historical Summary ).
Adolf Hitler is viewed as the main catalyst, using many different systems to implement his
twisted views. One of the systems used was the implementation of several laws and policies that
stripped basic human rights, as well as social and political rights from persons who were
considered non German living in Nazi occupied Europe. These laws included the forbidding of
marriage between a German and a non German, the stripping of citizenship from anyone who was
a non German, and widely regarded as the cruelest and most sickening of them all a policy referred
to by the Nazis as The Final Solution .
In order to protect German blood and keep it pure , the Law for the Protection of German Blood
and German Honor was introduced. This law forbade marriage and extramarital intercourse
between Jews and Germans. This law also forbade the employment of German females under the
age of forty five in Jewish households. This law was effective in alienating the Jews from the rest
of Germany. It was later extended to include Blacks, Romani people (Gypsies), and anyone else
who was considered a non German. This law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Oceania Government In George Orwell s 1984
Throughout George Orwell s 1984, there are many peculiar, compelling events that take place,

As discussed in the novel, there are three social classes in which certain people are placed, based
on their wealth and power in society. Similar to present day society, people are placed in specific
categories solely based on their income and political power. Although this method isn t very fair,
it is, in fact, the harsh reality of society, as no one person is always treated fairly. Another

Perception People perceive the same situation in their own ways. We learn from the flow of

The United States should have Universal Health Care
Virtually 50 million Americans are presently without any health insurance, and a great number of
them with health insurance are struggling to pay for their medical bills. Everybody concurs that
healthcare must be accessible to all citizens, but the debate on whether the United States should
adopt a universal health system still rages. According to the Institute of Medicine (2002), the U.S. is

Moreover, there are already existing laws in the country that demand emergency rooms for patients
if they lack any insurance. This expenses the hospital finance that they convey to clients and
insurance firms. Under universal health care program, those people that usually go without
insurance cover would be demanded to pay for it through taxes. This concept of cost distribution
would reduce the individual costs of people currently paying for insurance. It is worth noting that
this system of taxation resembles the shared costs of schooling, road construction, or even space
exploration (Burke, Diego Semelka, 2012).
Opponents of universal healthcare system assert that the program would be damaging to the quality
of health services, although researchers have established that the country s healthcare structure is
not superior to those of various developed countries that offer universal health care (Garber
Skinner, J2008). In relation to the same research, the United States is ranked second last in terms
of the number of practicing physicians. Moreover, the country has less than the normal number of
hospital beds and period of stay for severe care. The expense of the country s healthcare per

One of the central issues in the negotiations over the past three decades has been the question of
aboriginal self government, which has taken second place only to comprehensive land claims
negotiations in areas where no treaties have been signed to date.

Among academics, political leaders, and government representatives differences of opinion and
concern abound: differences about the most beneficial structure of self government, about who
controls what, about when self government should be implemented, about whether or not a true
form self government can ever be achieved.
Those who are critical of current forms of aboriginal self government view them as little more than
convenient arrangements that allow aboriginal people administrative responsibility for services
which are ultimately controlled by the federal or provincial government.3 They argue that self
government is essentially glorified municipal government; arrangements which are far from the
ideal of a third level of government equal in legislative and financial authority to the federal and
provincial governments.4
Self government proposals also have their critics among the very people for whom it is intended.
For example, Inuit women have objected to many parts of the Nunavut agreement mainly because
of concerns about an emphasis on conventional southern Canadian notions of resource management.
They also had concerns and about an emphasis on the economic, social and political roles and
issues for men at the expense of those of women in Nunavut (Inuit Women‰s Association, 1993).

Residential Community Essay
Wailea Makena, Hawaii, EAST Maui County is a good location to build an environmentally
friendly residential community because it is filled with good resources, does not pose very
dangerous safety concerns, and it is unique.
Wailea Makena, Hawaii, East Maui County is a good place to start an environmentally friendly
residential community for many reasons. There is many resources in Maui. Around the area
there is green foliage. There are lots of palm trees and some bushes. There is a waterfall with water
rushing down it. There is a sandy beach and an ocean as well. The old volcano also will have fertile

There is solar energy which is energy that comes from the sun. You can collect solar energy be
using solar panels. Then, the energy can be used to power things. There is wind energy. The wind
energy can be collected by windmills. These windmills can convert wind into energy. There is
also hydroelectric energy. Hydroelectric energy is water flowing that can be turned into energy.
Usually, people use dams to store water inside of a reservoir. All of these types of energy can make
electricity using natural resources.
The East Maui Volcano is made of basalt, which is igneous rock. This volcano was formed from
magma erupting from a volcano. Eventually, this volcano will erode because of weathering and
turn to sediment. Sediment is small particles of matter that gets transferred to another place. Solar
energy is the energy from the sun that causes the weather. The weather makes weathering happen
which causes rocks to break down. Next, it will compact and cement to form sedimentary rock.
Compacting and cementing is when the rocks get pushed together to form a rock. Gravity moves
the sediment like in rockslides, mudslides, or waterfalls. Chemical energy helps compact and
cement the sediment to form rocks. Then, the rocks will get pulled deep into the Earth. It will turn
into metamorphic rock due to heat and pressure. Metamorphic rock is rocks that were once
sediment, but now changed. The rocks will melt partially because of the heat.

Strict Dress Code
What Can I Wear
What can I wear to work? Some employers have a strict dress code, while others are very laid
back. According to the type of business, the organization does could dictate the type of attire and
grooming that is expected from the organization. Does the employer have a right to tell you what
you can and cannot wear to work or even how to be groomed? In my opinion and through my
experiences in life I would say yes they do, they have a business to run, and customers require
certain expectations and those expectations are handed down to the employees. Employee rights
must be taking into consideration in the process, along with other reasons for the policies
implemented such as setting guidelines for dress and grooming that could be ... Show more content

However, we have issues occasionally and we handle those swiftly and consistently with all
employees. If we did not have these guidelines in place, we would have employees showing up
in flip flops to move pallets and heavy boxes with a high risk of foot injuries. Others would be
caught in the buffing wheel due to a loose tank top that had been cut down the side. How do I
know this? The reason I know this is because even with the policy we have in place these few
incidents have happened and the employees in both of these situations that I mentioned actually
had the accident described.
In addition, different businesses would require different standards and could have a much stricter
dress code policy. Employees that have direct interaction with the public should be well groomed
and dressed appropriately. The more formal or professional the culture the need is greater for a
policy governing hygiene and grooming along with dress code. In addition, organizations that
require work with heavy machinery and dangerous machinery requires standards to satisfy safety
hazards (Sussman, 2017). Keep in mind that employees have rights that need to be taken into
consideration when policies are being

The Effects Of Borderline Personality Disorders
There s a tremendous need to implode the myths of mental illness, to put a face on it, to show
people that a diagnosis does not have to lead to a painful and oblique life. Those are the words of
Elyn R. Sacs, a successful woman who happens to carry a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Mental
illness has been plagued by stigma and misunderstanding throughout history, due to a lack of
necessary research by professionals as well as a lack of education for the public. The disorders
which face the most stigma, both historically and in present times, are the more severe afflictions
such as schizophrenia or personality disorders. However, as time passes, more information becomes
known about these disorders, and thus our perspective of them becomes a... Show more content on

While it was initially thought that borderline personality disorder was more common in women,
new data confirms that the prevalence is equal among the sexes. Along with this, research
identified high rates of comorbidity with mood, anxiety and substance use disorders [4]. Patients
with BPD have a 50 fold higher rate of suicide than the general population [5 ] (Nelson). However,
it was also discovered within recent history that the prognosis for borderline personality disorder is
shockingly favorable, in contrast with the previous notion that it was chronic and practically
untreatable. Over the course of ten years of treatment, borderline personality disorder has a high
rate of remission combined with a low rate of relapsing symptoms. At a follow up, after sixteen
years, remission rates continued to be high, and recovery rates were moderate (Nelson). One of
the most notable processes involved in remission and recovery is dialectical behavior therapy,
which is designed to treat chronically suicidal, multiproblem patients (Nelson). Thirteen separate
trials have been performed to test the effectiveness of dialectical behavior, making it the most
highly researched forms of psychotherapy for borderline personality disorder. It is also one of
the most effective, as not only did participants of DBT report using three times more skills than
those in a control condition, but also their use of skills mediated decreases in suicide attempts and
depression, and an increase in control over anger (Nelson). Despite being viewed as having a poor
prognosis initially, borderline personality disorder can be treated effectively. While it may be a

Pyrolytic Oil Project Report
In modern years, consumption of waste is the most significant one before disposing to the land.
There is attention in the growth of alternative technologies for recycling waste tyres. The recycling

The waste to energy skill is explored to development the possible materials in waste which are

in a sort of troubles such as taking up huge quantity of more and more precious landfill space and
unintentional fires resulting in highly toxic emissions such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur
dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO) and hazardous polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) [2 4]. A variety of strategies have been planned as choices to
waste tyre managing, all planning at tyre reprocess. Waste tyres can regrettably not be recycled
in traditional ways such as glass, metal or plastic by thaw out to attain raw material for new
products. This is as a consequence of the compound nature of tyres, which consist of steel,
rubber, carbon black, ash, fillers, etc. [5]. One more snag is that the polymers in the tyres are
cross linked, and these bonds cannot be chemically broken down simply [6]. Pyrolysis is distinct
as the method by which materials are thermally degraded by subjection to high temperature in the
lack of oxygen [7]. The pyrolysis process is effectual in the recycling of waste materials, counting
waste tyres, and thus contributes to decrease the ecological impact of waste tyres [8]. The
pyrolysis process yields three main products i.e., a gas, liquid and solid [9]. The

Benefits Of A Good Credit Score
Having a good credit score is one of the best matters one can involve themselves in. Good credit
can ensure that one are able to pay for just about anything. From a new car to somebody s first
house, it can make or ruin anyone. Due to the importance of good credit, students frequently take
advantage of their college years as a valuable chance to glimpse into adulthood by beginning their
steps toward increasing that score. Considering the rising costs of tuition and the steep price of
textbooks, it is not uncommon to be incapable of paying for everything immediately. That is where
credit comes it.
Credit score is a simple concept. It s a number that represents how often a person pays off debts
they owe from using a credit card. A credit card (different an a debit card), does not take money
from its owner. Instead, the owner is borrowing money it. At the end of the month, people receive
bills from everywhere they owe money. If people can pay them all off, their credit score will rise
as a result. On the other hand, if they fail to pay, that number drops. Once a payment is missed, a
person s credit score will receive a blow that will often be very troublesome to overcome. The
higher the credit score is, the more trustworthy people come across are to salespeople. 800 is a
perfect credit score, and what people strive towards. The college years are a perfect time to
establish credit, as it is the first time in their life where students realize that they will eventually need

Bilbo s The Big Adventure And Bilbo Essay
A week has passed since the big adventure and Bilbo is now taking some time to relax at his
home that he has missed so much. As Bilbo was watching TV on his couch he saw a strange
commercial appear. The commercial was about a new dimension that was recently founded by
an elf. This new dimension caught Bilbo s eye, as he found it looked very interesting and odd.
Bilbo immediately thought to himself that he must visit there one day, but how? , he asked
himself. Bilbo had no idea how he would get to this strange new dimension nor when he would
have the guts to step back outside again. Despite Bilbo still being shook up from the last
adventure, he figured that if he traveled to this foreign place; there would be no one
accompanying him to push him around or anything, he would have no specific demands, and he
wouldn t have to face any dangerous obstacles, or so he thought. While Bilbo was still
pondering about when or if he would travel to this new place, he heard a knock at his door. Bilbo
went to see who was at the door hesitantly, since he could not remember if he had invited
someone over or not. As he opened the door to his surprise, he saw another hobbit who was just
a little shorter than him and had looked like he was all beaten up. Bilbo saw that he did not look
like he was in a good condition. Bilbo immediately took him in and started asking questions. Are
you okay? Who are you? What happened to you? Where do you come from? Do you need a place
to stay? , asked Bilbo

How The Three Artists ( Michelle Lougee, Andy Goldsworthy,...
The aim and intentions of this essay is to compare and contrast how the three artists (Michelle
Lougee, Andy Goldsworthy, and Hermannsburg Potters) use their materials to communicate ideas
about the natural environment.
Michelle Lougee is a very famous environmental artist, sculptor, and ceramist. She is a member of
the Boston Sculptors Gallery, and her artwork has been shown in many New England museum
exhibits. She also teaches sculpture, ceramics, pottery, and drawing to adults and children at various
local museums. She holds an M.F.A and a B.F.A. from Boston University and lives in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. Her work focuses on the delicate balance between nature versus human society and
technology. The contrast of this relationship is explored in both materials and subject matter. The
combination of the two factions produce mysterious yet familiar forms. Michelle Lougee strives to
replicate the animated quality that all living things possess. She believes that her job as an
environmental artist is to capture that beauty in my work while instilling a message into it.
Michelle Lougee uses a wide variety of naturally found materials from the environment. These
materials are very banal. They include clay, papyrus, paper, cloth, plastic, post consumer grocery
bags, and plastic bags. Michelle Lougee s signature material is the plastic bags as they are
symbolic of the harmfulness brought to our environment. You can see her thorough incorporation
of plastic bags in her Gyre

Ip Address Scenario
Unit 1 Exercise 1 IP address scenario There are many factors involved in this scenario. For
example, the building may lend itself to certain network designs. You may have multiple floors
or a single floor. Multiple data closets or just one. You may have virtualized servers or desktops.
You will want to accommodate all these into your design. 50% may seem like too much now,
but realistically, 200 or 300% might be more acurate. A simple design you can consider is 1 floor
with a single data closet serving 150 users. You need: A core network Networks for your firewall,
dmz, remote vpn clients, etc switch mgmt network server network voice network wireless network
networks for other services you have not yet identified, like... Show more content on

If you can imagine wanting multiple networks for servers in the future for security reasons, this
makes sense. You may not want to lump your security camera video servers in the same network
as your email server. You may want a dedicated development network. You may have remote
users that don t need access to all servers. Things like that will influence your final design.
Another recommendation would be to leave 10.1.0.0/21 for network usage. Then make 10.1.8.0
/21 for your access. This can be carved up as above, 10.1.8.0/24 for pc s, 10.1.9.0/24 for voip and
so on. You can also go with smaller chunks if you are planning multiple data closets. 10.1.8.0 /22
would give 10.1.8.0 10.1.11.254 with a/24 network for pc,s voip, other then floor 2 10.1.12.0/22
10.1.12.0 10.1.14.254. In any case, your design needs to be flexible enough to handle massive
change without needing a complete overhaul. If you have 50 pc s per network now and you
allow for 254 and you have separate networks already in place for voip, wireless and 4 other
networks that can be carved into smaller networks as needed, you will have enough to go
around without redesigning anything for a long time. There are lots of pages available on
classless and classful addressing. Please let me know if this was helpful or if you need anything
else. Remember that using 10. address space is not necessary, you can use 172.29.x or 192.168.x as
well. It is just a little more flexible if

Position Paper on Relevance of It
Position Paper on Relevance of Information Technology
Information technology has undoubtedly become an indispensable part of our day to day lives.
Both the articles considered for analysis projects the role of IT, from being the back bone of
commerce to handling huge volumes of data, as being highly significant in the modern world. Even
though both Nicholas Carr and Erik Brynjolfsson are in agreement to the omnipresence of IT, their
perception of the future of IT differs vastly. I am in accordance with the school of thought put forth
by Nicholas Carr which believes that the strategic value of IT has reduced. For all the inventions
that had revolutionized the world there has been a point where these inventions become inevitable
and hence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the companies invest in new technologies when the existing versions can very well serve
the purpose. Hence emphasis should be given to effectively managing and maintaining the existing
technology rather than unnecessarily investing on more technology. IT can be replicated very
easily and is subject to rapid deflation making it a bad investment. It is always better to wait rather
than rush to buy a new technology since a better version is always available before the newly
purchased one is ready to use. Also it is very difficult to turn temporary technological advantages to
enduring positioning ones. Hence more emphasis should be given in fixing the vulnerabilities
rather than investing on a soon to be outdated technology. I agree with Carr that the companies in
order to achieve a better return should manage risks and costs meticulously rather than resorting to
seeking aggressive advantage. Also we have indeed spent much more than necessary on IT that the
available technology is much advanced than what is required in the most cases.
Brynjolfsson s four paradigms for innovation, i.e., measurement, experimentation, sharing and
replication, in my opinion, put forth a best practice that can be adopted to achieve innovation.
This model can be replicated by companies to achieve a desired effect. It has in turn been discussed
by Carr that a best practice can be

How Did Janis Joplin Influence Popular Culture
In the late 1960 s, the height of her career, Janis Joplin was titled the Queen of Rock n Roll . To
this day, she still lives on as one of the most influential women in the music industry. Her raspy,
blues inspired voice left audiences speechless, and her success paved the way for the advancement
of women in the music industry. Her lyrics reflected her carefree spirit and love of the blues, but
also her opinions on social and political issues. These positions made her an outcast before her
fame, but today they are part of the reason she is so respected. Janis Joplin was born on January
19th, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas. Port Arthur was a conservative town, which was hard for
Janis. She was different from her peers, and not well liked. In an interview on the Dick Cavett
show, when discussing why she left Texas, Janis said They laughed me out of class, out of town,
and out of the state (qtd. in Janis Interview). She dressed how she wanted, often wearing clothing
meant for men; she didn t discriminate against black people; and she loved the blues. Rock n roll
and blues music were a large part of life in the Joplin s household. After an interview with Janis s...

doing everything else she could to appear straight laced (biography). She stayed in Texas for six

The Influence Of Ralph Miliband s View On Marxist Theory
2. Ralph Miliband s View on Marxist Theory of the State
2. 1. Introduction
This chapter aims to present Ralph Miliband s view on the Marxist theory of the state. Miliband, as
stated by Newman (2007) was probably the most influential Marxist political sociologist writing in
English in the second half of the twentieth century, his works simultaneously contributing both to
the academic research agenda and to student protest movements of the era. (p. 176).
One of his most popular books is The State in Capitalist Society . The major goal of this book is
to refute the pluralism claim a dominant paradigm in the western political science when the book
was published that power is dispersed among a large number of competing groups in society and
the government was open to influence by competing parties and groups . (Newman, 2007, p. 76).
In his book, Miliband s criticism against the pluralists is clearly stated in the Introduction chapter,
One of the main purposes ... to show in detail that the pluralist democratic view of society, of
politics and of the state in regard to the countries of advanced capitalism, is in all essentials wrong

Henry Turner Superego
Freud believes there is three parts of a person s personality, the Id, Ego and Superego. The Id is
the portion of the brain that is based on a pleasure principle , meaning that this is the part that
controls a person s craving and wants. There is also the Ego which is based on the reality
principle , meaning this is the section of your brain telling you how it really is and saying you
can t have something based on the present situation. Lastly, there is the Superego which is based
on moral principle , meaning that you can t have something your Id wants because it is morally
wrong. Henry Turner was living a fairly normal life, till one day his Id took over and he wanted
some cigarettes and when he went to purchase them something unexpected happened. A man was
trying to rob him, but Henry wouldn t give up his money and tried running away and got shot
twice. He was able to live through, but when he came back, he wasn t able to be himself, he couldn
t walk, talk or remember anything about him or his life. He went through extensive training and
rehab to be able to retain the walking and talking part that he had forgotten. While in rehab,... Show

and learn right from wrong. An example of this is when he learns his wife cheated on him, he

in previous years. I also believe the most prominent scene to prove his Id is his natural state is
when he buys the dog and leaves to go walk around with nothing else to do. The traumatic accident

  • 2. Buddhism Is An Indispensable Element Of Chinese And... Buddhism has been the main religion of china for several thousands of years. In fact, Buddhism is an indispensable element of Chinese philosophy and literature. As we all know, Buddhism originated in India and first spread to China around 100BC. Nevertheless, (Mahayana) Buddhism in China separated itself from the mainstream Buddhismand created a new form of Bodhisattva precept instead of following the Indian Vinaya precept. In fact , the distinct Chinese history and culture played significant roles in the development and formation of Mahayana Buddhism . The change of Chinese society also had a great impact on the doctrine and status of Mahayana Buddhism. In this paper, I will illustrate the reason why Buddhism was widely accepted by Chinaas an alien religion , analyze how the indigenous philosophy such as Taoism and Confucianism affected the Mahayana concept and find the relationship between Mahayana Buddhism and Chinese Imperialism. Chinese has always been a confident nation most of the time. As they believe that China is the Celestial Empire of the world, Chinese rulers and scholars are reluctant to accept heterodox knowledge, especially religion. For hundreds of years, Confucianism had been the essence of Chinese Philosophy. However, By the middle of the second century. A.D, the great Han Empire was on the edge of disintegration. The upper level of Han socio political order was riven by conflict and the elite was frustrated by uncertainty . On the other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Literary Techniques Used in The Storm by Kate Chopin This short story was really straight forward until it got to the end, where it had a twist, which made me pick the story to write on. Kate Chopin did an outstanding job using symbolism, but this novel is not for all ages, if you know what I mean. How the setting, tone and theme all tie all together is what makes the story different from the others. Is the storm literal or symbolic? This particular question really stood out and really made me think and analysis the story. For example, the question asks about the storm if it is literal or symbolic. The storm is a super obvious symbol. It s involved in practically every element of the story. First off, it s the title. Second, it plays a huge role in the plot, forming the beginning and the end of the story. It also plays a really important part in the middle by bringing Calixta and Alcee together, pushing them into each other s arms and giving them the time and space to get physical before the world outside returns to normal. Also, the storm is a frightening occurrence in the natural world. Alcee describes it as a cyclone (Chopin 2.13), while Bobinot can tell right away that its sombre, sinister, and threatening (Chopin 1.1). Chopin describes the rain pouring down with a repetition and regularity that suggests rain itself. Of course, it s when all that rain is coming down most passionately and brutally that Calixta and Alcee are also getting more and more passionate; exploring their feelings for one another to the ... Worldview s Ability To Work In Global Health The worldview an individual holds is weighted and manipulated by the experiences, morals /values, customs, and aspects individuals develop during life. Through these factors and more, a person s worldview differentiates from another. This then creates principles, questions, views, and cultures that are/can be shared by communities and society as a whole. In a simpler context of words, a person s worldview is the way they see the world, and how this perspective shapes the way a person lives. • 7. Stillness Of Venice Analysis In Marino Faliero, Lioni s soliloquy describing Venice at nightfall illustrates the intangibility and ephemerality of Venice through emphasising the stillness of its waters. His speech functions dramatically on two levels which might seem in opposition: it humanises the previously anonymous patricians whilst simultaneously demonstrating Lioni s (and thus the aristocracy s) innate inability to understand Venice. Whilst Lioni is prompted by a quiet and directionless unease to leave the party early, his view overlooking Venice is of a city entirely at peace. Around me are the stars and waters Worlds mirror d in the ocean. (IV.i.68 9) Lioni s observation dematerialises Venice: not only is Lioni entirely mistaken in his depiction of a city in peaceful unity, the city he is looking at is perhaps not even real, merely a reflection of the real Venice. Byron implicitly questions whether we can trust Lioni s perspective at all through destabilising Venice as simply a world mirror d in the ocean , much like Emerson s depiction of Venice as a place one can live in for months and never understand. Like altars, ranged along the broad canal, Seem each a trophy of some mighty deed Rear d up, from out the waters. (79 81) The artificial stillness of Venice is compounded as Lioni s soliloquy develops. The only movement here (in contrast to the continual animation of Beppo s Venice) is the pillars rearing up from out of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Christ Birth Research Paper Christmas is arguably the biggest holiday in the western world. It is the holiday that brings forth the spirt of joy, giving s and love. Christmas is also the year that brings forth remembrance of Jesus Christ s birth. However, the nativity story, the story of Christ birth, has much more meaning to it then what people reflect on it as. When the Nativity story is told it seems the main focus or the happy ending is always the savior birth. That arguably is not what the Bible fully attended the focus to remain on. The Nativity story is more than just a story about Christbirth; it is a metaphor that paints the picture of the two people s faith in God and ultimately the gospel in a nutshell. Many overlook Mary and Joseph struggle during the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mary knew that Joseph would most likely leave her due to her mysteries pregnancy and a tarnished reputation. Although, those things are very important factors to look at when considering the risk Mary took, when she accepted to birth the Messiah, the most significate risk Mary had taken was the endangerment of her own life. According to the Old Testament law, if a women failed to remain physically pure before marriage she would be brought to the door of her father s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you. And if the women was betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die. Again, Mary knew the challenges she had to face. She had nothing but a story of an angel to give to Joseph and the towns people. The possibility of Joseph and the towns people believing that Mary, a poor servant, miraculously became pregnant by the Holy Spirit is as slim as it would be now. In fact, most would conclude that Mary was covering up an immoral relationship with Roman soldier. Yet, Mary kept the same attitude that her son had in Gethsemane when He prayed, not my will, but thine, be done. Regardless, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Why We Are Better Than Colleges Senior year is the time for making choices. Some of these choices are going to be small and others affect the rest of our lives. The biggest and most important choice is which college to attend. Do you want to stay close to home or go far away? The biggest question is what size of college is right for you. My two top choices are Universityof Bluffton and University of Findlay. I think they are both great colleges but one is definitely a better fit for me. The University of Findlay is a better fit for me over University of Bluffton because it is close to home, but is still large enough to give me the large campus feel I am looking for in a college. The hardest part of going to college is the expenses today. Most students have to take out loans which leaves them in debt all of their lives. University of Bluffton s tuition is $44,008 ( CollegeSimply. ) which is slightly more than University of Findlay which costs $42,335 ( Cost of Attending the University of Findlay . ). Students with EBD are being scattered amongst General Education classrooms and can often exhibit behavioral changes in which many teachers who have not had proper training or experience in managing may find overwhelming. One strategy to help maintain engagement and reduce behavioral challenges in a classroom that includes students with or at risk for EBD is to increase the rate of BehaviorSpecific Praise (BSP). Offering students praise in the form of a statement which explains which acceptable behavior they are being praised for can enhance the student s ability to remain on task and engaged in classroom activities and discussions. Professional development in the area of BSP is necessary in developing teachers who are more prepared to effectively face the challenges of having students with EBD. • 15. Comparison Of Thomas Hobbes And Locke s Political Philosophy Thomas Hobbes was an English Philosopher who was born in 1588. Hobbes is best known for his book Leviathan, which was published in 1651. Hobbes political philosophy can best be described as philosophical absolutism, the absolute rule of a people by a ruler. The book Leviathan was based on the idea that a government should be too strong for the people to overthrow and can rule the people with absolute power. Hobbes chose a Leviathan to represent the government that has absolute power and is strong enough to never be overthrown. Another famous English philosopher whose ideas are often compared to Hobbes is, John Locke. Locke was born in England in 1632 and is best known for his work Two Treatises of Government, a book in which Locke outlines his views on government and the role it should play. Unlike Hobbes, Locke s political philosophyis best described as philosophical constitutionalism, which is the belief that the people should have control of the government and not a single ruler. Locke s political ideals are the foundation on which the United States Constitution was written. (Uzgalis, 2017) While these two great philosophers do not share the same political ideology, there were a couple of ideas that the two did agree upon. Hobbes and Locke both believed in the Social Contract, which is the idea that individuals give up certain rights to be protected by the government. Hobbes describes the Social Contract as the mutual transferring of rights. (Lloyd, 2014) Where the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He states that this right is empty in a sense, implying that it is a right that does not have a definition or meaning. Harvey states that this right represents a collective struggle for the people who have helped in the building and populating of their city. Characteristics Of Aeneas A Hero Despite his accomplishments and the glory associated with his life, Aeneas only achieves the status of hero through divine intervention, and this god given position causes him just as much grief as it does splendor. What is a hero? We would like to think that a hero is someone who has achieved some fantastic goal or status, or maybe someone who has accomplished a great task. Heroes find themselves in situations of great pressure and act with nobility and grace. Though the main character of Virgil s Aeneid, Aeneas, is such a person, it is not by his own doing. He encounters situations in which death is near, in which love, hate, peace, and war come together to cause both good and evil. In these positions he conducts himself with honor, by going along with what the gods want. Only then goes on to pave the way for the Roman Empire. His deeds, actions, and leadership would never have come to be if it were not for the gods. The gods took special interest in Aeneas, causing him misfortune in some cases, giving him assistance in others. On the whole, the gods constantly provide perfect opportunities for Aeneas to display his heroism. Without them, Aeneas would not be the hero he is. Then make 10.1.8.0 /21 for your access. This can be carved up as above, 10.1.8.0/24 for pc s, 10.1.9.0/24 for voip and so on. • 55. The Influence Of Ralph Miliband s View On Marxist Theory 2. Ralph Miliband s View on Marxist Theory of the State 2. 1. Introduction This chapter aims to present Ralph Miliband s view on the Marxist theory of the state. Miliband, as stated by Newman (2007) was probably the most influential Marxist political sociologist writing in English in the second half of the twentieth century, his works simultaneously contributing both to the academic research agenda and to student protest movements of the era. (p. 176). One of his most popular books is The State in Capitalist Society . The major goal of this book is to refute the pluralism claim a dominant paradigm in the western political science when the book was published that power is dispersed among a large number of competing groups in society and the government was open to influence by competing parties and groups . (Newman, 2007, p. 76). In his book, Miliband s criticism against the pluralists is clearly stated in the Introduction chapter, One of the main purposes ... to show in detail that the pluralist democratic view of society, of politics and of the state in regard to the countries of advanced capitalism, is in all essentials wrong that this view, far from providing a guide to ... • 56. Henry Turner Superego Freud believes there is three parts of a person s personality, the Id, Ego and Superego. The Id is the portion of the brain that is based on a pleasure principle , meaning that this is the part that controls a person s craving and wants. There is also the Ego which is based on the reality principle , meaning this is the section of your brain telling you how it really is and saying you can t have something based on the present situation. Lastly, there is the Superego which is based on moral principle , meaning that you can t have something your Id wants because it is morally wrong. Henry Turner was living a fairly normal life, till one day his Id took over and he wanted some cigarettes and when he went to purchase them something unexpected happened. A man was trying to rob him, but Henry wouldn t give up his money and tried running away and got shot twice. He was able to live through, but when he came back, he wasn t able to be himself, he couldn t walk, talk or remember anything about him or his life. He went through extensive training and rehab to be able to retain the walking and talking part that he had forgotten. While in rehab,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was forced to start all over and relearn how walk and talk, meaning he didn t know right from wrong. Since he didn t know what was right and what was wrong, he just did all the things his brain wants him to do. He didn t have any more morals to live by, because he had to start all over and learn right from wrong. An example of this is when he learns his wife cheated on him, he doesn t know that it was wrong until he starts to remember more and more about what he learned in previous years. I also believe the most prominent scene to prove his Id is his natural state is when he buys the dog and leaves to go walk around with nothing else to do. The traumatic accident he goes through changed him as a person and made him become more of someone who is controlled by their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
