In order to ensure diverse, independent and high quality journalism in the future there is a need to rethink the classic publisher business while IT has to become part of the core products. On the way to digital transformation, we have to adapt to agile methodologies, and historically grown, complex infrastructures have to be reinvented in order to speed up the development process. With Cloud Foundry, we realized our vision of an innovative, fully automated service delivery platform by accelerating the time and quantity to market rate and reducing IT costs at the same time. The service oriented nature of the PaaS approach enables a modularization strategy for applications. We will discuss how Cloud Foundry’s capabilities helped to establish a culture of prototyping in combination with continuous delivery and business intelligence in order to form minimal viable products.

Introducing elastic.io iPaaS: Best-of-Breed Integrations - New in 2017elastic.io
elastic.io’s primary motivation is to support large corporations and mid-size businesses alike in their digital strategy initiatives by helping them spend less time on gathering data together across the entire organization, and instead, have enough time and resources to focus on using this data to improve business operations or to develop new products and services.
To make this a reality, the elastic.io integration platform makes use of the most modern technologies like microservices and serverless architecture to address the ever more pressing need for IT teams to connect the growing number of various, oftentimes disparate data sources, such as cloud-based systems of record or systems of engagement, IoT platforms, and legacy IT systems.
The elastic.io iPaaS is a ready-made product delivered as a service. It can be implemented through a cloud provider of one's choice, outside or behind the firewall. Its specific features include integration management API and the white-labelling option for building new products and services on top of the platform.

This document discusses the evolution of cloud computing from mainframes in the 1970s to modern cloud platforms. It covers the core models of cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and shows that cloud adoption among large enterprises has reached critical mass. Analyst reports from 2008-2009 find that early adopters are seeing benefits, and most enterprises will use cloud services over time. The document also discusses workload patterns well-suited to cloud services and reasons for considering a cloud-based approach.
The ability to deliver software is no longer a differentiator. In fact, it is a basic requirement for survival. Companies that embrace cloud native patterns of software delivery will survive; companies that don’t - will not.
In this webinar, we will:
- Look at the common patterns that distinguish cloud native companies and the architectures that they employ.
- Discover that an opinionated platform, one that stretches from the infrastructure all the way to the application framework, rather than ad-hoc automation, is an essential component to an enterprise's cloud native journey.
- Show that the combination of Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Spring is the complete cloud native platform.

SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS)Darren Cunningham
Integration is at the heart of every successful Social, Mobile, Analytics (Big Data), Cloud and the Internet of Things (SMACT) initiative. A modern integration platform as a service (iPaaS) must be fast to deploy and easy to use. It must be able to handle a variety of patterns, styles and endpoints. It must be able to connect to cloud and on-premises applications and data sources. And a modern cloud integration platform must be elastic in order to scale out as more capacity is needed. The SnapLogic integration platform as a service (iPaaS) eliminates the need to choose between multiple tools and teams for application, process and data integration, allowing you to instantly access and stream data, regardless of its location, size, and type.
The document discusses the growing enterprise platform-as-a-service (PaaS) market. It states that PaaS helps organizations develop applications faster and scale more easily across public and private clouds. The worldwide PaaS market is expected to grow 30% annually to over $14 billion by 2017 due to factors such as placing IT at the core of business strategy, using IT for innovation over just automation, and the rise of industries generating data through sensors. PaaS solutions help reduce infrastructure costs and increase developer productivity.

Situation Overview
Introduction
Systems of record are important for conducting day-to-day business with customers.
Competitive differentiation increasingly requires organizations to drive decision making based
on analyzing streams of data to target new interactions through mobile channels. Enterprises
are empowering their business analysts as “citizen developers” to develop applications in new
low/no-code environments to accelerate digital transformation and overcome the hurdle of a
shortage in developer resources.
To enable digital transformation of its customers, Salesforce provides a portfolio of services
to support and accelerate application development. Some services are meant for users with
minimal technology experience (often in line of business) with a low/no-code approach, while
others target professional developers offering complete control of application functionality
and the choice of multiple languages. Data analytics can be used to understand customer
interactions and trigger both desktop and mobile applications. Salesforce fully abstracts
infrastructure, removing the traditional time lags and complexity of delivering these types of
solutions
The document discusses how increased digitization is putting pressure on businesses to be more agile and innovative with their IT. It describes how Platform as a Service (PaaS) is evolving from a technical layer to a full-fledged business system that can accelerate the development and deployment of new applications. Specifically, PaaS provides standardized, scalable services that lines of business can use to quickly test and implement new ideas without technical expertise. The document also gives examples of how PaaS is enabling innovations in industries like retail through applications for mobile marketing, data analytics from sensors, and more integrated software ecosystems.
Don't let it PaaS you by - the future of application PaaS in Financial ServicesSentronex
PaaS (Platform as a Service) is gaining more momentum, but many firms are still unsure about what it is and how it can benefit their business. This slideshare provides a better understanding of what PaaS is, the key drivers to move to PaaS and how to go about implementing a PaaS solution, particularly for financial services businesses..
Software as a Service (SaaS) is one of the fastest-growing divisions in the IT industry. SaaS models, which are centrally located on a remote cloud network, operate on a subscription basis and become useful for many businesses due to their flexibility, cost, and many other reasons.
Newsdata.io is just another example of Saas based product, which in this case is a news API that users use to get required news data through API calls. This is just one simple example of Saas.
In the coming period due to the covid pandemic, many companies will need the remote working of their employees, so the need for SaaS will only increase.
In this article, I’ve included some of the most important trends and growth data for SaaS solutions in 2022.
If you ask a group of IT leaders about their strategic goals, their responses will likely
address business growth. Today’s IT leaders understand they have an unprecedented
stake in corporate success, thanks to transformational IT-led business trends such as
social networking and crowd sourcing, m-commerce and virtual teaming, analytics-driven
decision making and “everything as a service.” For these leaders, “innovation” and
“agility” are not just words on a PowerPoint slide, but a mandate for corporate value and
differentiation.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity serverAntonios Katsarakis
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).
