Song Choice
-Oh Wonder- Drive
-London based Duo
-Josephine Vander
Gucht and Anthony
West.
We chose this song
because of the
simple structure.
The rises and falls
allow for maximum
succession in
filming.
Interpretations of lyrics
“But I can’t help but drive away
from all the mess you made
You sent this hurricane now it
won’t go away
And I promised I’d be there but
you don’t make it easy
Darling please believe me”
-Broken
relationship
-Hardship
“Cos loving you, loving you
is too hard” -Questioning effort
to put into the
relationship“Sure I could stay but there’s
a place I’d rather be”
“You sent this hurricane now
it won’t go away”
-Blaming
each other
Exploring the Concepts
We will explore the nature of relationships
throughout our music video.
Time will be of importance. We will explore how
emotions change as time goes by:
-beginning with flashbacks of the start of a
relationship
-flashbacks of arguments at the end of the
relationship
-also in present time of being alone having lost the
one you love because the relationship isn’t working
out
Genre
Our music video will follow a narrative storyline.
We will begin by showing a girl alone. This gives the audience an
initial question of who she is.
The middle of the song will consist of flashbacks of good and bad
memories with her boyfriend.
During this time we will show present time shots of the girl walking
alone throughout the whole video posing another question of where
she is going and why she is walking so far.
The end will reveal that she is walking to place a single flower on the
grave of the boy who is in her memory.
Representations
Representations will be simple and rather
stereotypical.
Both similar ages, relatable to the audience.
Following similar fashion sense to the duo who
sing the song.
Existing Image of the Band
-We are conforming to the existing image of the band by
using similar shots and a very similar style of filming to the
original music video.
-Previously mentioned costume similar to band members.
-We want artistic shots to impress the audience including:
Facial close ups
• Environmental close ups
• Medium shots
• Extreme close ups to show connection between
characters (hands)
• Extreme long shots
• Most importantly artistically pleasing shots.
We will edit our frames to have tints. This will create a more
professional final piece.
Examples of shots
Target audience
The target audience will be older teens.
This is because they:
Can handle the darker meaning to the video. (his death)
May relate to the relationship conveyed.
Will enjoy the artistic feel of the video
UK Tribes:
Leading Edge
These types of people ‘live in the moment’. They show
artistic sensitivity and interest in the new and now
Distribution of Video
To correlate with our target audience we will
distribute via:
• Facebook
• Youtube
• Twitter
This will give us maximum feedback from friends
and ‘friends of friends’.
The Actors
We will only be needing two actors in our video. This
is because we want the attention to be focused on
their relationship.
Secondly we believe for filming purposes it will be
easier with less actors in order to reach each
location and check for availability.
We will be personally asking actors we believe will
show commitment and professionalism for the task.

Locations
We will primarily be filming in very natural areas. Including
a beach, nature walks etc.
The past bad memories will consist of being in an
enclosed space such as a dull room with no colour to help
express the emotion behind the acting.
The past good memories will consist of flooded sunlight
and will mostly take place in a car with the two characters
driving to show positive movement in their relationship.
We will be taking a location trip to take test shots and sort
definite locations of shooting.
