FC Tech Group presented their SXSW recap at Olapic's NY office on April 4, 2016. These are the slides focus on the three themes pulled from SXSW sessions surrounding retail, e-commerce, fashion, digital marketing, & tech.
Grasshopper.com presents a comprehensive report on entrepreneurs in 2010 and beyond: facts, profiles, inspirations, influences, and trends. Also covered is the recession’s impact on jobs, profits, and startup activity.
What it takes to be a digital woman: Review by TrendsSpottingTaly Weiss
This presentation was presented at Microsoft's Women Think Next conference. I reviewed the current state of women in the business world, and focused on digital women. I used research done by Harvard Business Review to show the age breakdown where women leave technology professions and simply break out from the industry.
My presentation ends with practical tips: how women working in IT companies can use the Social Media to professionally lead and influence.
I have described that as a "work around" option. Companies success in Social Media relies on the professional team members sharing their insights and works. I believe that women can find that stage as a source for learning, improving and leading. .

June 2010 Jeff Davis Presentation at the ACG Utah Breakfast MeetingDavid Politis
A Bountiful, Utah native, Jeff Davis recently moved back to Utah after retiring from Procter & Gamble following a 23-year stint with the Fortune 20 giant. Most recently Davis was General Manager/Vice President of Global Operations for P&G's Salon Professional (Wella) business. Previously he served P&G in five different countries (U.S., Canada, Germany, Czech Republic & Slovakia) across six different product sectors before opting to take early retirement nine months ago. The topic of Davis' presentation was "Don't Get Discouraged . . . GET MOTIVATED!"
According to former ACG Utah President, George Flint, Davis' presentation was one of the top 5 speeches he has ever heard at an ACG Utah breakfast meeting.
Some of the best ideas and solutions of the twenty-first century are coming from creative entrepreneurs in the “Young World,” the emerging economies of the south. The rising global generation sees business differently, and their success is helping to turn Latin America from consumers of content, technology and innovation into producers of world-class ideas and disruptive business models. How will this trend affect the dynamics of the creative and content-based digital economy in the next decade?
Gen Y and Nonprofits - the Why and the HowSam Davidson
Nonprofits can (and should) reach out to Generation Y if they are to remain viable well into the future. But who is Gen Y? And how can your organization reach them? In this presentation, Sam Davidson will showcase the components of a good Gen Y messaging strategy.

In this personal talk, writer and copywriter Sidney John Vollmer talks about a very well known fear of the creative industry: the fear of being forgotten.
He’s not concerned with dented creative egos or campaigns going unnoticed. He’s worried about why we work, about the legacy of our culture and how we can make sure we preserve our knowledge and creativity for future generations.
Simply put: we can still connect with the ancient Greek through their marble statues, but even something simple as watching your childhood VHS-tapes has become an enormous hassle.
What should we as creatives do against this Digital Black Hole we’re collectively creating? What responsibility do we carry for our (often ephemeral) work, for ourselves and for our future generations?
You’ll leave this talk with a new perspective on some possible 21st century duties and rights of both you as an individual and of the creative industry as a whole.

The Evolution From Management From Leadership to CreativeshipMonster
We’ve evolved from Management to Leadership, and now need to evolve to Creativeship, defined as the necessity to create an organizational culture that can compete and thrive in this new era.
The combination of technological advances (including social media), globalization, shifting economic drivers, government intervention, vastly different motivational drivers within different generations, and the emergence of social responsibility is leading to a pronounced shift in the definition of leadership.
Over the past 25 years, we have seen the shift from managing things, data, process (management) to leading people (leadership).
Going forward, leaders will now need to focus on Creativeship – defined as creating sustainable cultures.
This presentation will push you to think differently on how best to flourish in this era of speed, technological advances, and innovation.
Key take-a-way points include:
* Why you need to link your employment brand to your product or service brand
* Importance of thinking global
* Why and how to leverage social media
* Best practices to boost innovation, speed, technology, engagement, purpose, inclusion, collaboration, and engagement

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
The Art of the Pitch: WordPress Relationships and SalesLaura Byrne

All these questions and more will be explored as we talk about matching clients’ needs with what your agency offers without pulling teeth or pulling your hair out. Practical tips, and strategies for successful relationship building that leads to closing the deal.
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

The Metaverse and AI: how can decision-makers harness the Metaverse for their...Jen Stirrup
The Metaverse is popularized in science fiction, and now it is becoming closer to being a part of our daily lives through the use of social media and shopping companies. How can businesses survive in a world where Artificial Intelligence is becoming the present as well as the future of technology, and how does the Metaverse fit into business strategy when futurist ideas are developing into reality at accelerated rates? How do we do this when our data isn't up to scratch? How can we move towards success with our data so we are set up for the Metaverse when it arrives?
How can you help your company evolve, adapt, and succeed using Artificial Intelligence and the Metaverse to stay ahead of the competition? What are the potential issues, complications, and benefits that these technologies could bring to us and our organizations? In this session, Jen Stirrup will explain how to start thinking about these technologies as an organisation.
zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).
