Personal Statement
Candidate mechanical engineer registered at ECSA with 4 years of experience in research and development
projects. Iam a loyal,principled and hardworking individual that alwaysfinishes what is started. Ethics and trust
are most important to ensure good relations and will be a pre-requisite for selecting a future employer. My
passion evolves around the design and build of new, innovative and practical solutions for many engineering
problems.
Skills
Professional/Technical Expertise
Skilled at the applicationof mechanical engineering technicalexpertise that have been gained during the last four
years working on various research problems. I work on the entire design process through to developing
prototypes and final product manufacturing.
Design
Conceptual design skills to develop mechanical engineering solutions. Specifically gained practical exposure
through a wide variety of design projects whilst working in the research and development department. This
requires innovative improvement and original mechanical engineering solutions on a daily basis.
Computer skills
CAD software:
i) Creo (Expert) whilst working on the solar vehicle project a wide range of training courses were completed.
These courses were utilised in the design of the various components of the project.
ii) Solid Works (Expert) Software used by current employer over the past 3 years
Microsoft Office: Competent
Marketing
At many occasions, I represented the University of Johannesburg and my current employer at various public
exhibitions where I interacted with potential clients and learnt the principles of marketing.
Public speaking
As part of my responsibilities at my previous and current employers, I presented numerous projects to various

Complete Aerodynamic and chassis (internal structure) design of a third Solar Car (participated in 2014 Sasol
Solar Challenge), various other Intellectual Property Research and Development projects and In-Service

Designed and manufactured two Solar Cars as well as Driver of solar car in Sasol Solar Challenge 2012.
