The PHP Conference is one of the few undergraduate conferences in Canada.
It is organized by students along with two faculty advisors.
Sessions run during the day on Friday and Saturday.
Each session is 1 hour and 15 minutes long; typically 3 students present in each session.
2. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE…

3. PRESENTING AT THE CONFERENCE
• Submit an abstract on our website with a theme related
to Philosophy, History, or Politics, preferably by
November 6th, 2015.
• The abstract should be approximately 200 words and
needs to include the title of your paper, your thesis
statement, and a brief summary of the major points of
your paper.
• At the conference you will give a 10-15 minute
presentation to a panel that includes fellow students and
your professors.
4. HOW DOES PARTICIPATING IN THE
CONFERENCE BENEFIT ME?
• Great opportunity to practice public speaking in a
friendly and relaxed environment.
• Presenting at the PHP Conference will stand out
on your academic resume.
• You will meet other students in your field of
interest from across North America.
• You get the chance to share with others research
that interests you and that you have put a lot of
work into.
5. KEYNOTE ADDRESS
JANUARY 15TH, 7PM, IRVING K. BARBER CENTRE
Dr. Cressida Heyes is currently the Associate Chair (Graduate
Studies) in the Department of Political Science and the University of
Alberta, as well as the Canada Research Chair in Philosophy of
Gender and Sexuality.

We talk about it endlessly while failing to take it seriously as a part of
human existence; we each worry that our sleep is abnormal or
inadequate but lack ways of collectivity solving our sleep problems.

Reception. The Wine &
Cheese is included with
registration.
7. CONFERENCE BANQUET
JANUARY 16TH, 2016
Tickets are $35 and include a full buffet dinner and dance
You may purchase an additional ticket for a guest.

INTERNAL KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Dr. Robert Hanlon, a Politics professor here at TRU, will be speaking about
Human Security while touching on his soon to be released book
Freedom from Fear / Freedom from Want: an Introduction to Human Security.
8. REGISTRATION
• Registration is free for TRU students, we are covered
through CUEF.
• Registration closes January 13, 2016. Please try to
register by January 10th so that we have a better idea
of how many people will be attending.
• Registration includes lunch on Friday and Saturday, a
continental breakfast on Saturday, and tickets for the
Wine & Cheese. It does not include banquet tickets.
• You can register on our website, and when you get to
the conference you must come to the registration table
to sign in.
