This document provides instructions for a group project where students will research and present on a country where English is an official language. It outlines the tasks that need to be completed, including researching the history, education system, and culture of the chosen country. They will then divide tasks, with each group member speaking for 3-5 minutes during the final presentation which will occur on June 10th. 1. We live in a colorful world filled with different
cultures, but we know little of those cultures
2. Introduction
We live in a world where everyone is different.
We all have different backgrounds.
We were all raised differently by our parents etc.
Here in the Netherlands we see different cultures walking
around. But little is known of these different cultures and if
you do know something you know the negative things and
not the positive.
With this project you are going to seek information about a
country where English is the official language in
school, politics etc.
3. Task
In week 24 you will do a presentation on the country that you
have chosen.
In your presentation you have to have the following
information:
History of the country
Education Compare the Education system with The
Netherlands
Culture Typical Food, Music, Clothing and
Religion/Belief
You have to have a written report of the information
gathered
4. Process
Step 1: Form groups of 2 . Choose your group members wisely!
Step 2: As a group you choose the country you want to research.
A list of possible countries will be provided to you by your
teacher. A country may only be chosen ONCE!!
Step 3: Once you have chosen the country let your teacher know.
Step 4: Once you have the GO AHEAD from your teacher you
need to divide the following tasks (see following slide)

6. Criteria for Presentation
Each group member has to speak a minimum of 3 to 5
minutes.
You have to have visual aid think on
Food, Clothing, Poster, Power Point Presentation, Flag etc
You have to use correct English I don’t want to hear slang
e.g. I am gonna talk about The Caribbean
Reading during your presentation is NOT allowed
The Use of Flash Cards is allowed but if you are going to
read for long periods of time, points will be taken off of
your total amount of points.

10. Evaluation
For your presentations you will receive a total of 100
points.
You will get a rubric from your teacher with a
description on how it is you can achieve these points.
