educators, administrators, and business
professionals have chosen to be members of
the premier business education association
preparing students for careers in business.

collegiate business student organization in the

 Opportunity to attend professional workshops
ranging from “Dress for Success” to “How to use
Social Media in the Job Search Process”.
 Opportunity to enter one or more professional
competitive events.
What are some of the
competitive events students can
enter?
 The FBLA-PBL National Awards Program
recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad
range of business and career-related areas.
 Top state winners are eligible to compete for
national awards at the National Leadership
Conference each summer.
 Competitive events fall into three categories:
individual, team, and chapter. Individual and team
events focus on skills useful in leadership and
career development; chapter events recognize
overall achievement and performance in chapter
management and growth.
What are some of the
competitive events students can
enter?
 A few categories in which you could compete:
Accounting Principles, Computer Concepts,
Hospitality Management, Human Resources
Management, Impromptu Speaking, Marketing
Concepts, Sales Presentation, Social Media
Campaign
Are there other things PBL will
get involved in as a chapter?
 During a typical school year, the chapter will
be involved in 2 or 3 community service
projects.
 Service learning helps members
 Learn about real-world issues, concerns, and
needs.
 Matches members' strengths with community
needs.
 Provides practical experience in planning and
organizing.
 Develops leadership skills.
What are the dues/fees?
 Individual Student Dues
 National = $10; State = $7 – $10
 Sinclair Fee
 $20/annually (total)
