Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, some of pedestrian signal electrical hardware and software supply delayed and created huge gap from the substantial completion date to the full activation of the project. The scope of this project was construction of concrete median islands, curb ramps, curb and gutter, and full replacement of asphalt trail, asphalt mill/overlay, signs and new pedestrian signals installation.
Chichester Lane at Lismore Lane Walkway extended a five-foot wide concrete walkway 91 linear feet. The improvements include construction of sidewalk, adjusting an existing sanitary manhole to grade, and applying topsoil, seed and matting to disturbed areas.
The project provides a pedestrian walkway along the west side of West Ox Road from Ox Hill Road running along the ramp to Lee Jackson Memorial Highway (Route 50) to an existing walkway along the north side of Route 50. The construction includes the installation of concrete sidewalk, curb ramp, asphalt trail connection, resetting and relocating existing signs.
The purpose of this project is to provide safer access to the bus stop and to improve pedestrian access at the intersection of Chain Bridge Road and Seneca Avenue.
