Persuasive Essay Structure
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Persuasive Essay Structure" can be a challenging yet
rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in presenting compelling arguments but also in
adhering to a specific structure that maximizes persuasive impact. To begin with, one must
thoroughly understand the intricacies of persuasive writing, mastering the art of convincing the
audience to adopt a particular viewpoint.
The complexity of such an essay is amplified by the need to seamlessly integrate logical
reasoning, evidence, and emotional appeal. Establishing a strong introduction that grabs the
reader's attention while clearly stating the thesis is crucial. The body paragraphs demand
meticulous organization, ensuring a coherent flow of ideas that builds a persuasive case. Each
argument needs to be supported by relevant evidence, be it statistics, anecdotes, or expert
opinions, requiring in-depth research and analysis.
Balancing the persuasive elements is an additional challenge. Striking the right chord between
ethos, pathos, and logos is essential for creating a well-rounded and convincing essay. Moreover,
crafting a persuasive conclusion that reinforces the main points without introducing new
information requires finesse.
The process also involves revision and refinement. Revisiting the essay to fine-tune language,
eliminate redundancies, and strengthen arguments adds to the overall complexity. Meeting word
count requirements while maintaining clarity and depth of thought is yet another layer of
difficulty.
Despite these challenges, mastering the art of constructing a persuasive essay can be a valuable
skill, applicable in various academic and professional settings. It not only hones one's ability to
communicate effectively but also cultivates critical thinking and research skills.
For those who find themselves grappling with the intricacies of persuasive essay structure or are
pressed for time, seeking assistance is a viable option. Platforms like HelpWriting.net offer a

Age Of Cathedral Essay
Gothic cathedrals are more often than not very tall. In fact, they are the equivalent of
city scrapers today because they dominate the skyline and emphasize vertically.
Church leaders sought an architectural style that would create a sense of awe in the
power and majesty of God for anyone that went to such churches. Master masons
designed and constructed the cathedrals with the aim of creating uninterrupted
vertical space in their structures. These great heights formed a dramatic interior that
served the purpose of reinforcing the power of God and the church.
Gothic architecture did not evolve from dying Romanesque traditions, but from a style
that was very popular. This shift came about in an era of much political and
intellectual development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These innovations include the ribbed vault, flying buttress, and the pointed arch. The
use of ribbed vaults created a sense of lightness and height in the building whereas
flying buttress supplemented the strength of the structure.
One such example is the Opening of Psalm 1 in the Windmill Psalter. Illumination
of manuscripts was used to pass theological concepts during the Gothic period.
This concept was achieved by weaving some ideas and stories into single
illuminations as was the case in the example above. As seen in the first two pages,
the letter b is achieved by weaving a lot of pictures in and around it. Biblical tales
of Solomon and the story of the creation of Adam and Eve are included. These
different stories as well as others when put together provoked the viewers and
portrayed complex theological ideas
French King Louis IX built many churches and religious houses. The most
celebrated being the Sainte Chapelle that was built to house his relics such as the
Image of Edessa, Crown of Thorns and other items. These works of art were of great
significance to his ambitions and political life. His architectural and artistic patronage
helped in placing him as the central monarch of the western
Economic Impact On Australia s Economy And Society
The changing land use via the construction of the new Crown Resort in Sydney
harbour yields a majority of negative implications on the environment, Australia s
economy, and society. The effect on the environment, including air and water
pollution, and the deconstruction of the working harbour, is detrimental to health
and well being. The social implications include the effect on gamblers individual
lives and the lives of social housing occupants, as well as the impact casinos have on
Australia s international profile. The economy is affected because it widens the
economic gap between rich and poor and changes the area via the changing of
residents due to high rates catering to wealthy tourists.

The resort is saddled with dangerous risks for the gamblers and residents, the social
implications of which were discussed, economically. People in social housing can t
afford to stay in the area, and regular people can t afford to live, shop or eat there
either, due to the catering to wealthy customers. Furthermore, the Australian
government has waived penalty rates people who used to be paid for weekend
work to compensate for the lack of time off are now poorer and worse off, which
leads to even less of a diverse community around the harbour. Alternatively, the lack
of lock out laws bringing more people to the area than locals could be seen in a
positive light. According to Crown Resorts Limited Corporate Social Responsibility
Report 2013, in reaction to the Melbourne resort, Crown Resorts graduated over 6
000 apprentices and trainees, provided employment for 15 000 people and invested
$2.7 billion in tourism. Combined with the tax revenue from gamblers lost money,
the resort would boost Australia s economy substantially and increase tourism in
Sydney. However, it does not specify if these apprentices skills could be useful in
life apart from how they are used in a casino, or how much of this money will go
towards the betterment of Australia and not towards already multi millionaires
Romanticism In Oliver Twist
Introduction:
In mid 19th century England, realistic literature came as a response to the preceding
romantic period. The romantic period was known to emphasize the experiences of
the individual and was regarded as a highly aesthetic period. It was related with the
movement of sensibility or sentimentalism, which stressed the importance of
emotions and feelings of sympathy (Kitson 328 329). Contrarily, realism during the
Victorian age aimed to address economic and social issues in society by depicting
the struggles in the developing society as accurately as possible (Redd).
Consequently, in the 1830s, when Charles Dickens was writing Oliver Twist, it is
justifiable that elements of both realism and sentimentalism can be found in the
novel. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most notably, Dickens depiction of London (in particular the workhouses and
other social institutions) and his criminal characters have a very prominent
realistic effect. However before going into detail about the realistic setting and
characters, it would be beneficial to take a look at Dickens preface for Oliver
Twist. In his preface for Oliver Twist, Dickens justifies his reasons for writing
about the criminals of London; he had the impression that real thieves and
pickpockets were not portrayed correctly in literature during that time. For that
reason, he felt that it was necessary to show these crooks as they really were, for
ever skulking uneasily through the dirtiest paths of life (7). He also believed that
doing this would be a service to society , and that he did it as best as [he] could .
He explains that he won t be writing about appealing and pleasant situations; ...no
merry makings in the snuggest of all possibly caverns, none of the attractions of
dress, no embroidery, no lace... (8). In essence, this preface foreshadows the
realistic elements in the novel by telling the readers where to look. Clearly the
characters and setting will be portrayed as honestly and truthfully as possible,
without overlooking even one hole in the Dodger s coat, or one scrap of curl paper
in Nancy s dishevelled hair (9) and describing the cold wet shelterless midnight
streets of London; the foul and frowsy dens, where vice is closely packed and lacks
the room to turn [...]
Gustave Eiffel Research Paper
Gustave Eiffel was born on December 15, 1832, Dijon, France and died on
December 27, 1923, Paris, France. He died from Intracerebral hemorrhage,
Intracerebral hemorrhage is when blood suddenly bursts into brain tissue, causing
damage to the brain. Gustave was an engineer he was interested in construction at an
early age he also attended at a french public institution called Ecole Polytechnique.
He graduated in 1855, at Ecole Centrale des arts et manufactures which is a college of
arts and manufacturing.
One of Eiffel s first projects came in 1858, when he oversaw the building of an iron
bridge at Bordeaux, and by 1866 Eiffel had set up his own company. By the time he
designed the arched Gallery of Machines for the Paris Exhibition of 1867, his
reputation was solidified. In 1876, he designed the 525 foot steel arched Ponte Maria
Pia Bridge over the Douro River in Oporto, Portugal, which was completed the

As his career advanced, Eiffel moved away from bridge work, such as in 1879 when
he created the dome for the astronomical observatory in Nice, France, notable in that
the dome was movable. That same year, when the Statue of Liberty s initial internal
engineer, EugГЁne Viollet le Duc, unexpectedly died, Eiffel was hired to replace
him on the project. He created a new support system for the statue that would rely on
a skeletal structure instead of weight to support the copper skin. Eiffel and his team
built the statue from the ground up and then dismantled it for its journey to New York

A marine biome is a large aquatic zone that takes up almost 75% of Earth s surface,
has a salt concentration around 3%, and is distinguished from other biomes by its
physical environment. According to Campbell Essential Biology with Physiology,
(2010), the habitats of a marine biome varies depending on the level of the sea that
it exists (pp.382). The layers or zones that make up the marine biome consist of the
pelagic realm, the intertidal zone, the photic zone, the aphotic zone, and the benthic
realm. The pelagic realm is the part of the marine biome that includes all open water.

Other marine life that exist in this ecosystem prey on other species for food, such
as shark, octopus, and larger fish prey on smaller marine life for food. Herbivory is
a large part of the marine life, which is the consumption of plant parts or algae by an
animal. Phytoplankton, known as algae and other plants of the marine environment
is the producer for food of many species living in this ecosystem. The consumer relies
directly or indirectly on the output of the producers. A main hazard to this ecosystem
caused by humans would be pollution. The acid precipitation, toxic chemicals, and
other contaminants are harming the aquatic environment, and it contributes to the
dwindling population of species in this ecosystem. According to (Dickey, Reece
Simon, 2010), this human behavior has contributed to the decline in commercial fish
species, dying coral reefs, and even the closing of some beaches due to pollution. The
abiotic factors present in this ecosystem consist of temperature, light, water, minerals,
and air. Majority of organisms living in this aquatic environment require specific
temperatures to survive, although temperatures can vary according to the species.
Obviously, water is a part of the aquatic environment, and is actually essential to all
parts of life. Light plays a major part in the photosynthesis process for many
organisms
The Oedipus Complex In The Turn Of The Screw By Henry
James
The Turn of the Screw has been analyzed multiple times and each time with a
different focus. Psychoanalytic criticisms are unique in the way that it is like
analyzing the plot and characters of the story the same way a therapist would would
their patients. Picking apart the things that make people wonder or the things that
drive them to find the truth. In the story, we re introduced to seemingly normal
characters at first. The narrator, the governess, the master, Mrs. Grose, and Flora.
However, once the reader becomes accustomed to the characters and begins to pick
up the plot, Henry James introduces the notion of ghosts. How these ghosts are
received depends on the reader s specific mindset. Many see them as merely figments
of the governess s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oedipus Complexes are fairly common and can be found almost in any text if
analyzed closely. A critique done by Rictor Norton goes as far as to say that
oedipal incest is the basis for normal (Norton, 1). This idea can be applied to Miles
in The Turn of the Screw in the way that he and the governess interact. It is,
however, common for the oedipal situation to work both ways, which suggests that
the governess, whether it be consciously or unconsciously, reciprocates the feelings
that Miles exhibits. However, the idea of a negative oedipus complex suggests that
Flora has a deep seated longing, as well as an unconscious sexual desire, for her
always absent father. Flora doesn t want the governess to lust after her father, she
wants to be the only girl in his life, even though he s not really in their lives at all.
There are many literary analysts that read into the evidence in The Turn of the
Screw that suggests an aspect of Miles that could be described as homosexuality.
The evidence present surrounds Miles expulsion from school. As Miles and the
governess discuss the circumstances around his dismissal, Miles says he: said
things...[to] those I liked...they must have repeated them. To those they liked
(James, 118 119). From my perspective, I don t agree that this can be read as
homosexuality. The text only says Miles said things to those he liked and it doesn t
specify if those were boys or
Escape From Alcatraz Research Paper
Escape from Alcatraz
`On that night of June 1962 the Anglin brothers Clarence and John and, Frank
Morris. It s pretty obvious that that the famous Alcatraz escapees survived. There may
be some persuasive arguments against that but, by looking through the evidence it
seemed the fact that they survived out weighed the fact they died. The prison they
may have escaped from is a lone island on the San Francisco bay. Surrounded by the
freezing cold water chances of a swim escape was very slim the 50 degree water
would kill in half an hour. The current would pull them out to the ocean where they
would eventually drown. Inside Alcatraz is a high security prison for the worst of the
worst. With tool proof cell bars prisoners would spend years trying to cut through the
bars. Along with that the guards had machine guns and had continuous prisoner

helped them escape? Statistically that doesn t just happen randomly that night.
Many men who had tried to swim downed many people say. But did those men
have a boat? Frank morris was an armed bank robber and was extremely familiar on
how to escape according to the scholastic scope. Many claim that the sharks ate
them because their are supposedly sharks in san francisco bay. There happen to be
sharks in the san francisco bay. Now those of you who live in san francisco don t
jump out of your pants they re only little bottom feeder sharks they only are about
as big as your fingers. It would seem that there be a chance the could have died but
that is very unlikely based on the evidence I have found. They are most likely down
in south america right now drinking out of coconuts while the FBI says their dead.
So that s how they escaped why they probably survived and where they

Article 53 In Criminal Justice
The creation of the International Criminal Court (ICC) intended to ensure the pursuit
of criminal accountability of mass human rights violations did not go as smoothly as
was hoped. Overtime, sensitive questions emerged on the impact of ICC prosecutions
on ongoing or recently ended conflicts. Particularly, with regards to the possibility of
the ICC impeding the progress of domestic initiatives seeking to deal with the
aftermath of a conflict through peace and reconciliation processes. In such instances,
should the Prosecutor only consider the facts of the case, or should she also take into
account broader considerations, such as the impact of her actions? The Rome Statute
left these uncertainties on the relationship between the ICC and local peace and
reconciliation initiatives unaddressed. In drafting... Show more content on

However, without a detailed account of what falls under the rubric of interests of
justice, its application remains unclear. In its 2007 Policy Paper, the Office of the
Prosecutor argued that the criteria for the application of Article 53 is guided by the
goal of putting an end to impunity. It thus adopted a narrow interpretation of the
article, establishing that any decision not to proceed with an investigation or a
prosecution will be highly exceptional. Many argued that such a narrow interpretation
ignores the realities of societies in transition. Often, in these situations a state may

during the communist revolution. He grew up under communism and experienced
the Cultural Revolution. Zhao became a prominent leader of the democracy

The diction in this poem relates to how the author views his country as poisonous
and negligent. He says that things are filled with blind toadstools (Zhenkai,
Language 147). Zhao views his government officials as poisonous like toadstool
fungi. He has no faith in his leaders and wants a change. The author makes
allusions to outside situations so that readers can better relate to China s
condition. He states that while trampling the flowers, the dandelion grows secretly
(Zhenkai, Language 147). This is saying that while the Chinese officials are
trampling over the country, the democratic leaders are flourishing. Their ideas
would soon be heard and spread. The tone in Language is very similar to the tone
in One Step . The poem is simplistic and meaningful while having a harsh tone. It
uses words such as flimsy, trample, and collapse to describe China (Zhenkai,
Language 147). Overall the poem is impactful and well written. It will allow readers
to see that it s good to voice their opinions. Zhenkai s writing is an excellent example

My Experience At My Church
Have you ever felt like you were getting called upon to do something? I ve
experienced this after my dad passed away. I felt God calling me to serve my
church. I started to become more active in my church s faithful followers group. I
felt God come into my life. I got the chance to go on this amazing tripthat changed
my life around.
I was sitting in my confirmation class on Sunday afternoon, when my teacher,
Melanie, was talking about all the upcoming events. She had an eye catching video
about the National Catholic Youth Conference or NCYC. The group from two years
about created the video. They went into detail of what we d get out of the trip. The
thing that stuck out the most was the unique feeling of God s presents. It was time
to pay for our spot on this trip. The cost was $50, so you would have a seat on the
bus. This frightened me because I didn t know if I wanted to go for sure. I was
going to be around 200,000 other people, only seven being ones from my church.
Preparing for this trip was time consuming. We had to dedicate all our free time
this summer to setting up fundraisers. The trip was $510 per person. Our
fundraising consisted of selling Pastry Puffins, bake sales, and 50/50 tickets. Also
there were people who would donate so they could get a free pancake breakfast out
of the deal. We had meetings on top of meetings. We had to think of every possible
thing we could to make this trip possible. We discussed trading items for weeks. We

The And Rogers Park Community
Throughout the Edgewater and Rogers Park community, my focus was on the
physical health and well being of the members of the community. The assets
identified were doctor s offices, small clinics and clinics that are a part of a larger
chain. Each of these assets show the diversity in the medical care offered in the
Edgewater and Rogers Parkcommunity. For example, the assets that we found
were mostly privately owned and the clinics that are part of a larger chain such as
the clinics in Walgreens or CVS, were small and run by only a few people. There
weren t any assets that were part of a large medical institution such as Advocate or
Nova health. There was only one hospitalwhich is Methodist Hospital which is one
of the largest assets we found. This illustrates how in the Edgewater and Rogers
Park community, smaller and more convenient methods of receiving healthcare is
emphasized more than larger scale hospitals. The asset that I researched and
interviewed was Physicians Immediate Care on 6140 North Broadway in
Edgewater Chicago. This is a small clinic which is actually part of a larger chain of
clinics that are located in Nebraska, Indiana, and Illinois. This particular clinic was
run by the PhysicianAssistant. I learned through the interview that the Physician
Assistant can perform many of the tasks that a Doctor could, however, they must
practice under a Doctor s license. The Physician Assistant I interviewed said that a
Doctor will periodically come during the week
Wolves In Little Red Riding Hood
In both stories wolves are portrayed as dangerous creatures. Throughout the story of
On the Mountain Trail the wolves are chasing after what they think is prey. Then
in Law of Life at the end of the story (paragraph 22) the wolves attack him and kill
him. The wolves in both stories are portrayed as fierce ferocious animals; they are
creatures of the wilderness, hunting prey whenever possible. They are not the
sociable animals such as dogs that we are so custom to they are deadly animals in
some cases. For example: In the mountain trail once the characters started to shoot at
them the wolves immediately thought of them as a threat, or when you are lying

In the fairy tales Little Red Riding Hood the wolf was a trick so he could eat her and
as a result she ran away. In The Boy Who Cried Wolf, he was lier and eventually
died. They were supposed to scare us so as we got older we never saw a wolf and if
we did it was a symbol of fear to us. But because we have never seen them in person
when we do we think of a way to either kill them or get them away so that they
cannot harm us or them, the main characters (On the Mountain Trail paragraph 9 10
and Law of life paragraph 22). But sometimes we don t understand wolves they can
represent fear as the lone wolf represents when it s hunting alone without his pack

$3.5 billion. More importantly, their gross profit was $1.2 billion. Their net income

Unfortunately, the accounts payable outweighs the cash account, but nevertheless,
the net receivables account is at $560 million. After receiving that amount and
including the cash, they will be able to pay off their entire accounts payable, as well
as short term and long term debt. Lastly, the long term debt is at a mere $324
million. This is only 13% of their total assets, meaning that the company owns most
of their assets.
Again, in comparison to Saks, Neiman Marcus is far better managed. Saks s total
assets are an impressive $4.7 billion, but current assets make up only 44% of it.
Most of their money is valued in power plant and equipment $2 billion. Also, Saks
has high current liabilities of $966 million and an even higher $1.1 billion in long
term debt. They are not able to pay off these liabilities with their cash.
Recommendations based on the balance sheet are little, since the company is
performing so well. Firstly, we can increase cash meaning, make more sales and
have more discounts to attract buyers. Furthermore, increase service sales.
Introduce a dry cleaning line or a tailor service. Secondly, increase property more
stores. We see that we are performing well and with more stores, we will increase
assets. By doing so, we increase our collateral and gain more financial status.
Overall, the company is performing very well

Hacker And How We Can Defend Ourselves Against Them
The term hacker and how we can defend ourselves against them
In today s society, the term hacker is very well known across the world. It is scary to
know that you are being a victim of any individual who works with remote
computers. People who use unauthorized entries to other computers through
communication networks such as the Internet, are known as hacker. Since the
technology has improved, all people should have information about hackers and how
we can protect our systems against them.
Where was this term born? The term hacker comes from an idea derived from a
community of computer programmers and systems designers, in the 1960s around
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology s, Tech Model Railroad Club and MIT
Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. A hacker is a person who secretly gets access to a
computer system in order to get information. They create programs that are so
complex, even the best programmers cannot conceive them. Many of the hackers are
probably between fourteen and eighteen years old. They earn a lot of money stealing
important information; also, they steal because they are paid for doing it; but, many
people have become their prey causing them emotional disturbances. They use many
ways of stealing.
Since 1997, companies have received hacker attacks in their systems, making some
lose a significant amount of money. With this history attacks it is now important to
find a method to combat them. They work stealing our passwords, using the process
What Role Does Religion Play In Hamlet
In life, religion can play a huge role in peoples actions and decision making. This
holds true not only in the real world but also the literary one as seen in the play
Hamlet by Shakespeare. In the play, Hamlet exhibits characteristics of faith with
mentions of heaven and hell as well as a god and a devil. However, there is no clear
mention to narrow down his views to a single religion. These religious views do
however play an important part in Hamlets decision making and the actions he
carries out. Shakespeare s work brings out the dilemma of right and wrong, moral
and immoral with Hamlet being a prime example of these conflicts. In the play, there
are many conflicts in which Hamlet s religion plays a part in. An example of religion

Compare The Life Before Apple And The French Revolution
The French revolution is important because it caused a change in power for
France, abolishing the monarchy and creating a government where everyone
could vote and decide on their leader instead of having a king who wasn t chosen
and might not make the best decisions. The existing power structure in France
before the revolution in 1789 was that the king, Louis XVI, ruled over France in a
monarchical way and the poor people barely had enough to feed their families
because the taxes were so high. So the poor people worked and the bulk of the
money they earned was taxed by the nobles. However there was also a third estate
comprised of the rich non nobles which disliked their leads so much that they
created a convention against the king. The privileges they were fighting for were
the right to vote, the right to choose their own leaders, and the right of nourishment
because the poor people had nothing. By comparison, the Apple revolution was also
important because it created a new competition for IBM but at the same time let the
people have a choice of computers. The life before Apple was that the people could
mostly only buy computers from IBM because they were the only large company
selling computers. IBM controlled the market and therefore the people, so Apple

The Metamorphosis of the Schemer Stereotype
In looking at movies and television, one can definitely argue that the viewer is
subjected to a variety of human characters and personality types some are older,
some are younger; some are outspoken, some are timid; some are brash, some are
patient the range of characters and identities is endless. Unfortunately, this may lead
to rash generalizations about gender, and in many instances, it often leads to
something far more impetuous and dissuading: the stereotype.
While one could attempt to discover and chart all the stereotypes that exist in mass
media, it is actually more useful to focus in on a specific area, along with a certain
stereotype. One area of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the schemer may not dictate what happens in every episode and/or movie,
it is safe to say that the schemer s actions (or inactions, in some cases) often create a
snowball effect, in which the subsequent events revolve around. Bearing that in mind,
then, it is intriguing to look at various schemers in pop culture, and their impact on
gender stereotypes. By looking at Zack Morris, Joey Jeremiah, Bart Simpson, Danny
Zuko, and Ferris Bueller, the viewer can outline a rather simple framework for the
stereotypical schemer in television and cinema; where schemers are often white
males, who interestingly enough fall into or rather, travel between two other gender
stereotypes the mama s boy/straight arrow, and the bad boy/rebel. However, one must
not make the mistake of assuming that this framework is anything but a work in
progress, for in the late 1990s and early 21st century, television and cinema also
provided viewers with three schemers that undeniably went against the stereotype:
Will Smith, Lisa Simpson, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As a result, it becomes clear
these three anti stereotypes offer a fresh take on the notion of the schemer, and that
the catalyst in adolescent/teenager television programs and movies is an ever
changing dimension of mass media.
Beginning with Zack Morris, and by referring to his image, one can
Hustler Vs Falwell Case Study
I. Hustler v. Falwell II.485 U.S. 46 (1988)III. Facts: In Hustler v. Falwell a dispute
arose when Hustler Magazine, a a magazine that circulates nationwide featured a
parody of an advertisement for Campari Liqueur. The inside front cover of the
magazine presented interviews with celebrities who described their first time.
One of the parodies belonged to Jerry Falwell, a nationally acclaimed minister who
was featured as describing his first time with his mother when they were both
intoxicated from drinking Campari Liqueur. While the interviews with the
celebrities contained a double sexual reference, it was evident in the end that the
ads were referring to the first time the celebrities had tried Campari Liqueur.
However, after the magazine was accessible to the public, Jerry Falwell sued
Hustler Magazine and its publisher for libel, invasion of privacy, and intentional
infliction of emotional distress. At trial court the judge dismissed the invasion of
privacy claim and then sent the case to the jury where they ruled Hustler Magazine
on the claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress and awarded Jerry
Falwell $150,000. The case was then taken to the Supreme Court level on appeal by
the petitioner, Jerry Falwell. IV. Issues: (1) Does the First Amendment s freedom of

Container Market Literature Review
1.Literature review:
Several aspects of the container market has been broadly discussed in several studies.
To gain insight in such a broad subject as the container market, the subject container
market is divided in some important parts:
Containerization.
Globalization.
Port efficiency.
Container handling capacity.
Port investments.
Port competition.
Market developments.
1.1 Containerization:
To understand the container market, it is important to understand what the
development of the container market has been. First of all, it is important to
understand what kind of developments there have been in the container market after
it s introduction. The second question that arises is what trend the container market
is following, and if a clear trend can be seen. If a trend can be seen, a conclusion
could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The double digit growth rates are not possible to maintain and the only growth in the
market could be an improvement of efficiency or the changes in level of economic
activity (Notteboom Rodrigue, 2009).
To link the containerization to the product life cycle a figure is seen below which
shows the above standing phase and the time series in which it can hold up:
Figure 1.1 Graphic view of the product life cycle theory on the container market.
(Notteboom Rodrigue, 2009).
Concluding remarks are that the container market have had minimal developments
after it s introduction, only the markets surrounding the container have been
developed through the years. Secondly, a clear trend can bee seen in the global
container market, and this trend can be explained by the normal product life cycle.
This means that future developments and forecasts should define in what stage of the
life cycle the container market is in on that current time, in order to make reliable
decision concerning the container
Characteristics Of Beethoven Music
1. Briefly describe the status of music in relation to the other arts in the nineteenth
century.
Music in the nineteenth century was starting to become recognized as one of the
major arts. No longer seen just as a casual form of entertainment, musicians and
composers began to gain respect in artistic circles. One of the key figures to help
bring up this new reverence for music was Beethoven, with his sonatas and
symphonies impacting the public massively. Not only where his musical works
perfect for the Romantic ideals of the time, but his personal afflictions, especially his
deafness, fit perfectly into the Romantic archetype of the suffering artist. Beethoven
literally became a figurehead of Romanticism in a much admired painting of the time
depicting Franz Liszt at the piano, surrounded by other prominent artists, fixated on a
bust of Beethoven in the windowsill. This painting perfectly depicts the new respect
music had gained within the artistic community of the nineteenth century largely
through the life and works of Beethoven. 2. Why were the Romantics seen as rebels?
The Romantics are particularly noted by their relationship with the French
Revolution, and their widely progressive views. Many painters, musicians and poets
closely aligned themselves and their work with libertarian politics. Among those
rebelling was Beethoven, who, in admiration of Napoleon Bonaparte, wrote the
symphony Bonaparte (later renamed Eroica in contempt for Napoleon crowning

Why Is Mark Twain Wrong
When people think of the greatest works of literature, the first thing that most people
would think of is great epics or massive adventure stories with eloquent and verbose
descriptions. Usually said works are devoid of any grammatical errors or faultless in
structure, organization, and characterization. However, Mark Twainproved everyone
wrong by his work in The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin. His interesting style of
writing proved that the character s viewpoint of the story itself is more important
than staying within reason of correct grammar usage. Mark Twain was easily the
most influential writer of his time because of how and why he wrote his novels.
Mark Twain often writes in first person style, and it is evident with how the English...

His unique and revolutionary writing style still stand out among other famous works
of literature to this day, even with the criticism and heat it received upon its
publication back in 1885. The way that Twain conveyed his inner love for the south
and its diverse people and culture made The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin a novel
that can, and will stand the test of time in being one of literature s best works.
Twain effectively proved that a refined dialect is not needed to create a
masterpiece in the form of a novel, but rather it is how the characters and setting in
the story are described in the light they are presented in. The way Mark Twain
warped the language and dialect of the text to appeal to the southern states is still a
marvel to appreciate to this day. Even if some say that Twain s writing is not the
correct way to be writing a novel, he still managed to depict a certain culture so
perfectly that authors to this day wish they had his talent in descriptive
Importance of the Gardens in The Sparrow Essay
The actual turning point in The Sparrow was when the Utra Light crashed.
However, it was of little interest. The importance of the novel lied within the
gardens that were built. The garden the Jesuit mission planted served as the catalyst
to the future demise of the group, and especially Emilio. Emilio not only had his
body destroyed, but also his soul. The gardens caused a slaughter, an imprisonment,
an eventual destruction of the survivor s hands, another death, a rape, and a long
period of despair for the only survivor of the overall mission.
The crashing of the Utra Light by Sofia and Marc (290) was simply the turning point
because it was the beginning of the many unfortunate events that happened to the
group. However, it was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They went and retrieved the seeds Marc had decided to bring along, and soon
thereafter began to plant the seeds. In the beginning the Runa were absolutely
flabbergasted (342) about why the group was digging in the ground. Once the Runa
realized that the gardens grew food they too began to garden (346). As the food in the
Runa gardens grew, the fat levels and hormone production rose (346). Thus, Runa
sexual activity became more frequent, and therefore, the natality rate increased.
Soon, because of the increase in population, there was a slaughter of the Runa
village. Only two humans on the mission survived (378). The two remaining
humans, Emilio and Marc, were then taken prisoner[s] immediately (380). Once
they were prisoners, they were fed some sort of meat. Despite Emilio s effort to
convince him otherwise, Marc refused to eat the food he was given throughout the
imprisonment. As the imprisonment went on, Emilio eventually found out he was
eating, the meat of the innocents (380). Emilio continued eating the meat even after
he knew; his soul was hardly functioning. As he had watched children and his close
friends die, he was in such a state of despair that his soul barely even noticed what
he was doing. The gardens led to high hormone levels, which led to more babies. The
babies led to the murder of Emilio s good friends and Runa. Then the two surviving
humans were imprisoned by the patrol that performed the slaughter.

their behaviour, known as ethics. Many different fundamentals of ethics rationalize
and justify peoples decisions. One specific theory is called utilitarianism. This

Similarities Between Ancient And Modern Dictators Hitler
Throughout the years, the world has had its Fair share of Ancient and Modern
dictators. The word Dictator originated as the title of a magistrate, in the Roman
Republic appointed by the Senate to rule the republic in times of emergency.
(Freeman, 2008). Dictators eventually became known to be the ruler in total power
over a country, typically one who has obtained control by force. (Freeman,2008) The
ancient dictatorNero and Modern dictator Hitler both used their power to provoke
terror and absolute fear within their people, as well as both committed genocide on a
particular group in which they felt that played a big part in their country s demise.
Although there are thousands of years separating the ruling between the ancient
Dictator of Rome; Nero and the modern dictator Hitler, it didn t stop events from
repeating in a very similar manner.
You might now know this but Nero was actually born with the name Domitius.

How Do Animals Survive In The Tropical Rainforest

Safeguarding Children Assignment
The specialist skills of the Health Visitor are crucially important in safeguarding
children (HM Government, 2010). In the past decade there has been significant
change in nursing and healthcare that has led to a much wider remit for those
involved in working with children and subsequently child protection (Hall and
Elliman, 2006; Department of Health, 2004); indeed Health Visitors are responding to
a national drive to further enhance their contribution to public health(Department of
Health, 2009).
It is against this backdrop that the critical need to develop the leadership role of the
Specialist Community Public Health nurse within the process of recognising and
referring child maltreatment emerges. This requires Team Managers to... Show more

The Programme, which underpins the work of the Health Visitor, is an early
intervention and prevention public health programme that aims to provide an
invaluable opportunity to identify families that are in need of additional support
and children who are at risk (Department of Health, 2009, p.6) by providing a
progressive universal framework to ensure the promotion of the health and
wellbeing of children, delivered via multi agency support services. The safeguarding
process requires Health Visitors to utilise all four principles of specialist community
health nursing (Nursing and Midwifery Council, 2004) in developing child care
services to prevent child maltreatment and in ensuring rapid and appropriate help for
families. Furthermore, the Healthy Child Programme (Department of Health, 2009)
establishes a leadership role for Health Visitors in delivering care packages to
support the most vulnerable children; core principles of the Programme include
keeping children healthy and safe, identification of factors that influence the health

The UN Security Council was created on October 24, 1945 when the Second World
War was coming to an end, and upon the ratification of the Charter. The Security

representatives from China, Great Britain, the Soviet Union, and the United States
whom met at the Dumbarton Oaks in Washington D.C. for the initial discussions that
would then lead to the creation of the Council. The UN Security Council then took
permanent residence at the UN headquarters in New York City. Similarly to the UN,

Transcendence in Marilynne Robinson s Housekeeping
William H. Burke suggests that transience in Marilynne Robinson s Housekeeping
is a type of pilgrimage, and that the rigors and self denials of the transient life are
necessary spiritual conditioning for the valued crossing from the experience of a
world of loss and fragmentation to the perception of a world that is whole and
complete (717). The world of reality in Housekeeping is one fragmented, isolated, and
arbitrary as glimpses one has at night through lighted windows (Robinson 50). Many

instead they pursue a spiritual transience that will lead them to an earthly state of

The thoughts and emotions that occur in connection with water are triggered by
the lake, and they help Ruth choose transience over any other form of existence.
When water floods Fingerbone, the boundaries are overrun, exposing the
impermanence of the physical world, and the world s own natural push towards
transience. Water shifts the margins, warning us that the visible world only shows
us part of the whole or perhaps even a mere reflection of a false reality. After the
fantastic train wreck in which Ruth s grandfather perished, the lake sealed itself
over in ice, changing boundaries again, while it concealed, like a secret, the last
traces of the victims with the illusion of its calm surface. The lake, a source of
beauty and darkness, life and death, is the accumulated past, which vanishes but
does not vanish, which perishes and remains (172). Water carries the symbolic
possibility for rebirth the flood causes the graves in the town cemetery to sink, so

Privacy Vs Government Surveillance
Like every debate or dilemma there are two sides, the positive and the negative; the
advocates and the opponents. In the dilemma of privacy verses surveillance, those in
favour of government surveillance believe the government should be allowed to
monitor and observe all public and private matters in order to gather security data,
because they believe in the primacy of security over privacy(McNeil, 2016).
Advocates also favour more government surveillancetechnologies and systems in
order to target and prevent terrorist attacks, as many governments say that their
surveillance technology can be used to counter espionage efforts, hinder the spread of
weapons of mass destruction and attacks through terrorism(McNeil, 2016). However

achieving greater democracy. Also, to take account of all the ideas and proposals

Therefore, I disagree with the commission s recommendation. I believe that Belize
should change from Parliamentary Executive to Executive Presidential. In such
case, having the Parliamentary Executive system has quite a few disadvantages.
Some of them are: quick decision making, the system has not effectively prevented
the increase of official waste and corruption, and the House and even more so the
Senate serve largely as rubber stamps for Cabinet decisions. If we continue to use
this system, the people will not be able to be a part of the decision making because
this system is of a dictatorship. It means that even if we disagree with something, it
s not us who have the final say. Also, it didn t decrease waste and corruption but I
believe instead it has increased. Moreover, saying that the House and Senate serves
largely as a rubber stamp for Cabinet decisions means that the House and the Senate
are approving matters or making decisions without real power. The House Senate aren

American house hold; however, that is changing. Understanding the way sex
influences or impacts our lives is very important. Not only do humans interact
sexually but also many animals. Human sexualityis being able to be comfortable with

as something dirty and unpleasable but rather than a way to show their masculinity.
Also, they go very far into the forest to be able to engage in sexual activity. In my
option the Sambia lack sexual literacy. According to Herdt, In order to become sexual
literate, ...you can develop healthy and positive attitudes in your thinking,
communication, and lifestyle that will result that in satisfying sexual relationships
when you decide you re ready for sexual intimacy. The men was more open to sexual
activities and engaged at a very young age but for a women they had to wait until

The Iron Triangle For Healthcare
The Iron triangle for healthcare consists of cost, quality, and access; these three
characteristics when balanced create great healthcare. Managed Care
Organizations combine the three to offer consumers with care that is appropriate
for their individual needs. Our book describes managed care organizations as the
cost management of healthcare services by controlling who the consumer sees and
how much the service cost (Basics of the U.S Healthcare System, Niles). Taking a
look at the history prior to the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973
(HMO ACT of 1973) the implementation has been significant in balancing cost, and
quality control. Before this Act was signed in to law by President Nixon
healthcare costs were determined by fee for service. A fee for service or
indemnity plan is a plan that allows the provider to determine the cost of service,
this fee for service plan caused for healthcare costs to increase rapidly. An example
of this would be going to the doctor with neck pain, being told to stretch then
receiving a bill for 25,000 dollars. As could be understood the cost of healthcare had
became a problem.
A part of the problem of cost was the establishment of free healthcare for those
eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, between 1965 and 1971 where there was no
limitation on benefits. The cost of healthcare increased from 39 billion in 1965 to
75 billion in 1971. Providers had no concern for the cost of their care seeing that

Each airframe is divided into shops and shifts. The different shops consist of two
separate ratings; Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT) who maintain the
airframe (fuselage and engine) and Avionics Electronics Technician (AET) who
maintain all the electronic components. The fixed wing shop has two distinct
shops made up of each rating compared to the rotary wing shop where both ratings
share a space. The shifts are divided in to a day and night shift sometimes there will
be a third shift that is dedicated to corrosion which is not present here at Air

structure. The day shift has a majority of the senior leadership present. Their job is
to ensure the personnel is managed, flights are launched and scheduled maintenance
is planned and achieved during that shift. The night shift does not have the senior

vampire family: he was turned into a vampire in 1863 when he was 19 years old,
but found the Cullens family in 1950. Jasper has honey blond hair and is also very

A Monument Of The World War I
A Monument to Peace Inspired by War Grant Deetch Humanities 120 Professor
Aaron Nusz October 10, 2015 On August the sixth 1945 a single nuclear bomb
nicknamed Little Boy was dropped on the City of Hiroshima in Japan. Then on
August the ninth 1945 another bomb, this time nicknamed Fat Man was dropped
on the City of Nagasaki Japan. While it is well known that nuclear weapons were
dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan to bring World War Two to a decisive
end, this piece of art these horrible days inspired is less known. The sculpture
Peace Statue by Seibou Kitamura is deeply rooted in the aftermath of World War

Statue (Heiwa Kinen zo) was built by Nagasaki sculptor Seibou Kitamura in 1955.
This 9.7 meter high statue is made of Bronze and has been placed on a 3.9 meter
base; the statue weighs about 30 tons. The statue s right hand is pointed toward the
sky while his left hand is pointed horizontally from his body in a flat handed
gesture. The figure itself is a muscular, blue, shirtless man sitting in a peaceful
position with one leg under him as he sits on a pedestal. The figure s eyes are
closed within a face that does not look Japanese. This statue is more than just a
work of art; it is a monument to those lost during a horrible event in mankind s

  • 1. Persuasive Essay Structure Crafting an essay on the topic of "Persuasive Essay Structure" can be a challenging yet rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in presenting compelling arguments but also in adhering to a specific structure that maximizes persuasive impact. To begin with, one must thoroughly understand the intricacies of persuasive writing, mastering the art of convincing the audience to adopt a particular viewpoint. The complexity of such an essay is amplified by the need to seamlessly integrate logical reasoning, evidence, and emotional appeal. Establishing a strong introduction that grabs the reader's attention while clearly stating the thesis is crucial. • 2. Age Of Cathedral Essay Gothic cathedrals are more often than not very tall. In fact, they are the equivalent of city scrapers today because they dominate the skyline and emphasize vertically. Church leaders sought an architectural style that would create a sense of awe in the power and majesty of God for anyone that went to such churches. Master masons designed and constructed the cathedrals with the aim of creating uninterrupted vertical space in their structures. These great heights formed a dramatic interior that served the purpose of reinforcing the power of God and the church. Gothic architecture did not evolve from dying Romanesque traditions, but from a style that was very popular. This shift came about in an era of much political and intellectual development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These innovations include the ribbed vault, flying buttress, and the pointed arch. The use of ribbed vaults created a sense of lightness and height in the building whereas flying buttress supplemented the strength of the structure. One such example is the Opening of Psalm 1 in the Windmill Psalter. Illumination of manuscripts was used to pass theological concepts during the Gothic period. This concept was achieved by weaving some ideas and stories into single illuminations as was the case in the example above. As seen in the first two pages, the letter b is achieved by weaving a lot of pictures in and around it. Biblical tales of Solomon and the story of the creation of Adam and Eve are included. These different stories as well as others when put together provoked the viewers and portrayed complex theological ideas French King Louis IX built many churches and religious houses. The most celebrated being the Sainte Chapelle that was built to house his relics such as the Image of Edessa, Crown of Thorns and other items. These works of art were of great significance to his ambitions and political life. His architectural and artistic patronage helped in placing him as the central monarch of the western
  • 3. Economic Impact On Australia s Economy And Society The changing land use via the construction of the new Crown Resort in Sydney harbour yields a majority of negative implications on the environment, Australia s economy, and society. The effect on the environment, including air and water pollution, and the deconstruction of the working harbour, is detrimental to health and well being. The social implications include the effect on gamblers individual lives and the lives of social housing occupants, as well as the impact casinos have on Australia s international profile. The economy is affected because it widens the economic gap between rich and poor and changes the area via the changing of residents due to high rates catering to wealthy tourists. Crown Resort has many environmental impacts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The resort is saddled with dangerous risks for the gamblers and residents, the social implications of which were discussed, economically. People in social housing can t afford to stay in the area, and regular people can t afford to live, shop or eat there either, due to the catering to wealthy customers. Furthermore, the Australian government has waived penalty rates people who used to be paid for weekend work to compensate for the lack of time off are now poorer and worse off, which leads to even less of a diverse community around the harbour. Alternatively, the lack of lock out laws bringing more people to the area than locals could be seen in a positive light. According to Crown Resorts Limited Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2013, in reaction to the Melbourne resort, Crown Resorts graduated over 6 000 apprentices and trainees, provided employment for 15 000 people and invested $2.7 billion in tourism. Combined with the tax revenue from gamblers lost money, the resort would boost Australia s economy substantially and increase tourism in Sydney. However, it does not specify if these apprentices skills could be useful in life apart from how they are used in a casino, or how much of this money will go towards the betterment of Australia and not towards already multi millionaires
  • 4. Romanticism In Oliver Twist Introduction: In mid 19th century England, realistic literature came as a response to the preceding romantic period. The romantic period was known to emphasize the experiences of the individual and was regarded as a highly aesthetic period. It was related with the movement of sensibility or sentimentalism, which stressed the importance of emotions and feelings of sympathy (Kitson 328 329). Contrarily, realism during the Victorian age aimed to address economic and social issues in society by depicting the struggles in the developing society as accurately as possible (Redd). Consequently, in the 1830s, when Charles Dickens was writing Oliver Twist, it is justifiable that elements of both realism and sentimentalism can be found in the novel. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most notably, Dickens depiction of London (in particular the workhouses and other social institutions) and his criminal characters have a very prominent realistic effect. However before going into detail about the realistic setting and characters, it would be beneficial to take a look at Dickens preface for Oliver Twist. In his preface for Oliver Twist, Dickens justifies his reasons for writing about the criminals of London; he had the impression that real thieves and pickpockets were not portrayed correctly in literature during that time. For that reason, he felt that it was necessary to show these crooks as they really were, for ever skulking uneasily through the dirtiest paths of life (7). He also believed that doing this would be a service to society , and that he did it as best as [he] could . He explains that he won t be writing about appealing and pleasant situations; ...no merry makings in the snuggest of all possibly caverns, none of the attractions of dress, no embroidery, no lace... (8). In essence, this preface foreshadows the realistic elements in the novel by telling the readers where to look. Clearly the characters and setting will be portrayed as honestly and truthfully as possible, without overlooking even one hole in the Dodger s coat, or one scrap of curl paper in Nancy s dishevelled hair (9) and describing the cold wet shelterless midnight streets of London; the foul and frowsy dens, where vice is closely packed and lacks the room to turn [...]

He died from Intracerebral hemorrhage, Intracerebral hemorrhage is when blood suddenly bursts into brain tissue, causing damage to the brain. Gustave was an engineer he was interested in construction at an early age he also attended at a french public institution called Ecole Polytechnique. He graduated in 1855, at Ecole Centrale des arts et manufactures which is a college of arts and manufacturing. One of Eiffel s first projects came in 1858, when he oversaw the building of an iron bridge at Bordeaux, and by 1866 Eiffel had set up his own company. By the time he designed the arched Gallery of Machines for the Paris Exhibition of 1867, his reputation was solidified. In 1876, he designed the 525 foot steel arched Ponte Maria Pia Bridge over the Douro River in Oporto, Portugal, which was completed the following year. http://www.biography.com/people/gustave eiffel 9285294#early projects ... As his career advanced, Eiffel moved away from bridge work, such as in 1879 when he created the dome for the astronomical observatory in Nice, France, notable in that the dome was movable. That same year, when the Statue of Liberty s initial internal engineer, EugГЁne Viollet le Duc, unexpectedly died, Eiffel was hired to replace him on the project. He created a new support system for the statue that would rely on a skeletal structure instead of weight to support the copper skin. Eiffel and his team built the statue from the ground up and then dismantled it for its journey to New York
  • 6. Marine Biomes Marine Biomes Shonda Morton October 20, 2013 SCI/230 Paula Roberts A marine biome is a large aquatic zone that takes up almost 75% of Earth s surface, has a salt concentration around 3%, and is distinguished from other biomes by its physical environment. According to Campbell Essential Biology with Physiology, (2010), the habitats of a marine biome varies depending on the level of the sea that it exists (pp.382). The layers or zones that make up the marine biome consist of the pelagic realm, the intertidal zone, the photic zone, the aphotic zone, and the benthic realm. The pelagic realm is the part of the marine biome that includes all open water. (Dickey, Reece, Simon, 2010) explains the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other marine life that exist in this ecosystem prey on other species for food, such as shark, octopus, and larger fish prey on smaller marine life for food. Herbivory is a large part of the marine life, which is the consumption of plant parts or algae by an animal. Phytoplankton, known as algae and other plants of the marine environment is the producer for food of many species living in this ecosystem. The consumer relies directly or indirectly on the output of the producers. A main hazard to this ecosystem caused by humans would be pollution. The acid precipitation, toxic chemicals, and other contaminants are harming the aquatic environment, and it contributes to the dwindling population of species in this ecosystem. According to (Dickey, Reece Simon, 2010), this human behavior has contributed to the decline in commercial fish species, dying coral reefs, and even the closing of some beaches due to pollution. The abiotic factors present in this ecosystem consist of temperature, light, water, minerals, and air. Majority of organisms living in this aquatic environment require specific temperatures to survive, although temperatures can vary according to the species. Obviously, water is a part of the aquatic environment, and is actually essential to all parts of life. Light plays a major part in the photosynthesis process for many organisms
  • 7. The Oedipus Complex In The Turn Of The Screw By Henry James The Turn of the Screw has been analyzed multiple times and each time with a different focus. Psychoanalytic criticisms are unique in the way that it is like analyzing the plot and characters of the story the same way a therapist would would their patients. Picking apart the things that make people wonder or the things that drive them to find the truth. In the story, we re introduced to seemingly normal characters at first. The narrator, the governess, the master, Mrs. Grose, and Flora. However, once the reader becomes accustomed to the characters and begins to pick up the plot, Henry James introduces the notion of ghosts. How these ghosts are received depends on the reader s specific mindset. Many see them as merely figments of the governess s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Oedipus Complexes are fairly common and can be found almost in any text if analyzed closely. A critique done by Rictor Norton goes as far as to say that oedipal incest is the basis for normal (Norton, 1). This idea can be applied to Miles in The Turn of the Screw in the way that he and the governess interact. It is, however, common for the oedipal situation to work both ways, which suggests that the governess, whether it be consciously or unconsciously, reciprocates the feelings that Miles exhibits. However, the idea of a negative oedipus complex suggests that Flora has a deep seated longing, as well as an unconscious sexual desire, for her always absent father. Flora doesn t want the governess to lust after her father, she wants to be the only girl in his life, even though he s not really in their lives at all. There are many literary analysts that read into the evidence in The Turn of the Screw that suggests an aspect of Miles that could be described as homosexuality. The evidence present surrounds Miles expulsion from school. As Miles and the governess discuss the circumstances around his dismissal, Miles says he: said things...[to] those I liked...they must have repeated them. To those they liked (James, 118 119). From my perspective, I don t agree that this can be read as homosexuality. The text only says Miles said things to those he liked and it doesn t specify if those were boys or
  • 8. Escape From Alcatraz Research Paper Escape from Alcatraz `On that night of June 1962 the Anglin brothers Clarence and John and, Frank Morris. It s pretty obvious that that the famous Alcatraz escapees survived. There may be some persuasive arguments against that but, by looking through the evidence it seemed the fact that they survived out weighed the fact they died. The prison they may have escaped from is a lone island on the San Francisco bay. Surrounded by the freezing cold water chances of a swim escape was very slim the 50 degree water would kill in half an hour. The current would pull them out to the ocean where they would eventually drown. Inside Alcatraz is a high security prison for the worst of the worst. With tool proof cell bars prisoners would spend years trying to cut through the bars. Then turn its lights back on once it was far away from alcatraz. could this have helped them escape? Statistically that doesn t just happen randomly that night. Many men who had tried to swim downed many people say. But did those men have a boat? Frank morris was an armed bank robber and was extremely familiar on how to escape according to the scholastic scope. Many claim that the sharks ate them because their are supposedly sharks in san francisco bay. There happen to be sharks in the san francisco bay. Now those of you who live in san francisco don t jump out of your pants they re only little bottom feeder sharks they only are about as big as your fingers. It would seem that there be a chance the could have died but that is very unlikely based on the evidence I have found. They are most likely down in south america right now drinking out of coconuts while the FBI says their dead. So that s how they escaped why they probably survived and where they

  • 10. Article 53 In Criminal Justice The creation of the International Criminal Court (ICC) intended to ensure the pursuit of criminal accountability of mass human rights violations did not go as smoothly as was hoped. Overtime, sensitive questions emerged on the impact of ICC prosecutions on ongoing or recently ended conflicts. Particularly, with regards to the possibility of the ICC impeding the progress of domestic initiatives seeking to deal with the aftermath of a conflict through peace and reconciliation processes. In such instances, should the Prosecutor only consider the facts of the case, or should she also take into account broader considerations, such as the impact of her actions? Zhao Zhenkai is a poet from Beijing, China who writes under the pen name Bei Dao. His negative outlooks in his literature make his pieces significant and interesting. He was born in 1949 during the communist revolution. He grew up under communism and experienced the Cultural Revolution. He says that things are filled with blind toadstools (Zhenkai, Language 147). Zhao views his government officials as poisonous like toadstool fungi. He has no faith in his leaders and wants a change. The author makes allusions to outside situations so that readers can better relate to China s condition. He states that while trampling the flowers, the dandelion grows secretly (Zhenkai, Language 147). This is saying that while the Chinese officials are trampling over the country, the democratic leaders are flourishing. Their ideas would soon be heard and spread. The tone in Language is very similar to the tone in One Step . The poem is simplistic and meaningful while having a harsh tone. It uses words such as flimsy, trample, and collapse to describe China (Zhenkai, Language 147). Overall the poem is impactful and well written. She had an eye catching video about the National Catholic Youth Conference or NCYC. The group from two years about created the video. They went into detail of what we d get out of the trip. The thing that stuck out the most was the unique feeling of God s presents. It was time to pay for our spot on this trip. The cost was $50, so you would have a seat on the bus. This frightened me because I didn t know if I wanted to go for sure. I was going to be around 200,000 other people, only seven being ones from my church. Preparing for this trip was time consuming. We had to dedicate all our free time this summer to setting up fundraisers. The trip was $510 per person. Our fundraising consisted of selling Pastry Puffins, bake sales, and 50/50 tickets. Also there were people who would donate so they could get a free pancake breakfast out of the deal. We had meetings on top of meetings. We had to think of every possible thing we could to make this trip possible. We discussed trading items for weeks. We finally figured

The assets identified were doctor s offices, small clinics and clinics that are a part of a larger chain. Each of these assets show the diversity in the medical care offered in the Edgewater and Rogers Parkcommunity. For example, the assets that we found were mostly privately owned and the clinics that are part of a larger chain such as the clinics in Walgreens or CVS, were small and run by only a few people. There weren t any assets that were part of a large medical institution such as Advocate or Nova health. There was only one hospitalwhich is Methodist Hospital which is one of the largest assets we found. This illustrates how in the Edgewater and Rogers Park community, smaller and more convenient methods of receiving healthcare is emphasized more than larger scale hospitals. The asset that I researched and interviewed was Physicians Immediate Care on 6140 North Broadway in Edgewater Chicago. This is a small clinic which is actually part of a larger chain of clinics that are located in Nebraska, Indiana, and Illinois. This particular clinic was run by the PhysicianAssistant. I learned through the interview that the Physician Assistant can perform many of the tasks that a Doctor could, however, they must practice under a Doctor s license. The Physician Assistant I interviewed said that a Doctor will periodically come during the week

They are not the sociable animals such as dogs that we are so custom to they are deadly animals in some cases. Neiman Marcus department stores offer luxurious and high quality men s and women s apparel and accessories. The Neiman Marcus Group operates 35 stores in nearly 20 states. The 2004 net income was an impressive $204 million and revenue was $3.5 billion. More importantly, their gross profit was $1.2 billion. After receiving that amount and including the cash, they will be able to pay off their entire accounts payable, as well as short term and long term debt. Lastly, the long term debt is at a mere $324 million. This is only 13% of their total assets, meaning that the company owns most of their assets. Again, in comparison to Saks, Neiman Marcus is far better managed. Saks s total assets are an impressive $4.7 billion, but current assets make up only 44% of it. Most of their money is valued in power plant and equipment $2 billion. Also, Saks has high current liabilities of $966 million and an even higher $1.1 billion in long term debt. They are not able to pay off these liabilities with their cash. Recommendations based on the balance sheet are little, since the company is performing so well. Firstly, we can increase cash meaning, make more sales and have more discounts to attract buyers. Furthermore, increase service sales. Introduce a dry cleaning line or a tailor service. Secondly, increase property more stores. We see that we are performing well and with more stores, we will increase assets. By doing so, we increase our collateral and gain more financial status. It is scary to know that you are being a victim of any individual who works with remote computers. People who use unauthorized entries to other computers through communication networks such as the Internet, are known as hacker. Since the technology has improved, all people should have information about hackers and how we can protect our systems against them. Where was this term born? The term hacker comes from an idea derived from a community of computer programmers and systems designers, in the 1960s around the Massachusetts Institute of Technology s, Tech Model Railroad Club and MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. In the play, Hamlet exhibits characteristics of faith with mentions of heaven and hell as well as a god and a devil. However, there is no clear mention to narrow down his views to a single religion. Compare The Life Before Apple And The French Revolution The French revolution is important because it caused a change in power for France, abolishing the monarchy and creating a government where everyone could vote and decide on their leader instead of having a king who wasn t chosen and might not make the best decisions. The existing power structure in France before the revolution in 1789 was that the king, Louis XVI, ruled over France in a monarchical way and the poor people barely had enough to feed their families because the taxes were so high. So the poor people worked and the bulk of the money they earned was taxed by the nobles. However there was also a third estate comprised of the rich non nobles which disliked their leads so much that they created a convention against the king. The privileges they were fighting for were the right to vote, the right to choose their own leaders, and the right of nourishment because the poor people had nothing. By comparison, the Apple revolution was also important because it created a new competition for IBM but at the same time let the people have a choice of computers. Unfortunately, this may lead to rash generalizations about gender, and in many instances, it often leads to something far more impetuous and dissuading: the stereotype. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the schemer may not dictate what happens in every episode and/or movie, it is safe to say that the schemer s actions (or inactions, in some cases) often create a snowball effect, in which the subsequent events revolve around. Bearing that in mind, then, it is intriguing to look at various schemers in pop culture, and their impact on gender stereotypes. By looking at Zack Morris, Joey Jeremiah, Bart Simpson, Danny Zuko, and Ferris Bueller, the viewer can outline a rather simple framework for the stereotypical schemer in television and cinema; where schemers are often white males, who interestingly enough fall into or rather, travel between two other gender stereotypes the mama s boy/straight arrow, and the bad boy/rebel. However, one must not make the mistake of assuming that this framework is anything but a work in progress, for in the late 1990s and early 21st century, television and cinema also provided viewers with three schemers that undeniably went against the stereotype: Will Smith, Lisa Simpson, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As a result, it becomes clear these three anti stereotypes offer a fresh take on the notion of the schemer, and that the catalyst in adolescent/teenager television programs and movies is an ever changing dimension of mass media. The inside front cover of the magazine presented interviews with celebrities who described their first time. One of the parodies belonged to Jerry Falwell, a nationally acclaimed minister who was featured as describing his first time with his mother when they were both intoxicated from drinking Campari Liqueur. While the interviews with the celebrities contained a double sexual reference, it was evident in the end that the ads were referring to the first time the celebrities had tried Campari Liqueur. However, after the magazine was accessible to the public, Jerry Falwell sued Hustler Magazine and its publisher for libel, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. At trial court the judge dismissed the invasion of privacy claim and then sent the case to the jury where they ruled Hustler Magazine on the claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress and awarded Jerry Falwell $150,000. • 24. Characteristics Of Beethoven Music 1. Briefly describe the status of music in relation to the other arts in the nineteenth century. Music in the nineteenth century was starting to become recognized as one of the major arts. No longer seen just as a casual form of entertainment, musicians and composers began to gain respect in artistic circles. One of the key figures to help bring up this new reverence for music was Beethoven, with his sonatas and symphonies impacting the public massively. Not only where his musical works perfect for the Romantic ideals of the time, but his personal afflictions, especially his deafness, fit perfectly into the Romantic archetype of the suffering artist. Beethoven literally became a figurehead of Romanticism in a much admired painting of the time depicting Franz Liszt at the piano, surrounded by other prominent artists, fixated on a bust of Beethoven in the windowsill. This painting perfectly depicts the new respect music had gained within the artistic community of the nineteenth century largely through the life and works of Beethoven. 2. Why were the Romantics seen as rebels? The Romantics are particularly noted by their relationship with the French Revolution, and their widely progressive views. Many painters, musicians and poets closely aligned themselves and their work with libertarian politics. Among those rebelling was Beethoven, who, in admiration of Napoleon Bonaparte, wrote the symphony Bonaparte (later renamed Eroica in contempt for Napoleon crowning himself

Soon, because of the increase in population, there was a slaughter of the Runa village. Only two humans on the mission survived (378). The UN Security Council then took permanent residence at the UN headquarters in New York City. Similarly to the UN, the Security Council was created to address the failings and deficiencies of the previous international organization, the League of Nations. Currently, serving the council is Angola, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chile, Germany, Guinea, Mexico, Pakistan, Spain and Syria. When deliberating and discussing issues and what to do about them, it is important to get nine members of the Security Council to agree. But, the five permanent members each have veto power and can block any resolution. Unlike the General Assembly, the Security Council is able to enforce the majority of its decisions. The Security Council is able to use economic sanctions on specific regions and states. Furthermore, the Council is able to deploy forces. An example includes the 1991 Gulf War, when the Security Council decided to use force and solve the international problem. An important tool currently in place is that the UN Security Council president rotates on a monthly basis. This tool ensures that its nonpermanent members still have some agenda setting influence. Furthermore, the main criterion for eligibility is the constant contribution to the maintenance of international peace and security, which is often defined by financial or military contributions to peacekeeping operations on matters of regional security that usually appears before the
  • 34. Transcendence in Marilynne Robinson’s Housekeeping Essay Transcendence in Marilynne Robinson s Housekeeping William H. Burke suggests that transience in Marilynne Robinson s Housekeeping is a type of pilgrimage, and that the rigors and self denials of the transient life are necessary spiritual conditioning for the valued crossing from the experience of a world of loss and fragmentation to the perception of a world that is whole and complete (717). The world of reality in Housekeeping is one fragmented, isolated, and arbitrary as glimpses one has at night through lighted windows (Robinson 50). Many of the characters that precede Ruth in the narrative rebel against something in this world that is not right. Edmund Foster, her grandfather, escapes by train to the Midwest and his house is ... Nor will they, like Edmund and Helen, submit to a premature death in the water; instead they pursue a spiritual transience that will lead them to an earthly state of transcendent grace. The thoughts and emotions that occur in connection with water are triggered by the lake, and they help Ruth choose transience over any other form of existence. When water floods Fingerbone, the boundaries are overrun, exposing the impermanence of the physical world, and the world s own natural push towards transience. Water shifts the margins, warning us that the visible world only shows us part of the whole or perhaps even a mere reflection of a false reality. After the fantastic train wreck in which Ruth s grandfather perished, the lake sealed itself over in ice, changing boundaries again, while it concealed, like a secret, the last traces of the victims with the illusion of its calm surface. The lake, a source of beauty and darkness, life and death, is the accumulated past, which vanishes but does not vanish, which perishes and remains (172). Water carries the symbolic possibility for rebirth the flood causes the graves in the town cemetery to sink, so that they looked a little like...empty bellies, suggesting that the dead were born into the receding waters (62). As water and death are so pre eminent in Sylvie s consciousness, in dream, she teaches Ruth to dance underwater, to live a life of transience to be
  • 35. Privacy Vs Government Surveillance Like every debate or dilemma there are two sides, the positive and the negative; the advocates and the opponents. In the dilemma of privacy verses surveillance, those in favour of government surveillance believe the government should be allowed to monitor and observe all public and private matters in order to gather security data, because they believe in the primacy of security over privacy(McNeil, 2016). Advocates also favour more government surveillancetechnologies and systems in order to target and prevent terrorist attacks, as many governments say that their surveillance technology can be used to counter espionage efforts, hinder the spread of weapons of mass destruction and attacks through terrorism(McNeil, 2016). The Pros And Cons Of Political Reform Commissions In early December 1999, the new PUP government announced that it was establishing a broad based Political Reform Commission to review Belize s system of governance and develop proposals for reform. On January 13, 1999, Prime Minister, the Honorable Said Musa officially launched the Commission in Belize City. Some of the things the Reform Commission was mandated for are: to review the system of governance and to make recommendations for its improvement, whether by amendments to the Constitution or laws or otherwise, with a view to achieving greater democracy. Also, to take account of all the ideas and proposals made over the past few years by different organizations. Some members of the Reform Commission are: Senator Eamon Courtenay, People s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, I disagree with the commission s recommendation. I believe that Belize should change from Parliamentary Executive to Executive Presidential. In such case, having the Parliamentary Executive system has quite a few disadvantages. Some of them are: quick decision making, the system has not effectively prevented the increase of official waste and corruption, and the House and even more so the Senate serve largely as rubber stamps for Cabinet decisions. If we continue to use this system, the people will not be able to be a part of the decision making because this system is of a dictatorship. It means that even if we disagree with something, it s not us who have the final say. Also, it didn t decrease waste and corruption but I believe instead it has increased. Moreover, saying that the House and Senate serves largely as a rubber stamp for Cabinet decisions means that the House and the Senate are approving matters or making decisions without real power. The House Senate aren t very important to what they

Watching the documentary Guardians of the Flutes, I was able to see a different life style than I m use to but at the same time see many similarities. Both men and women have different roles in their daily lives and their works do not intersect. The Sambia tribe is patriarchal, in which the men have the control or rule, similar to most American house hold; however, that is changing. Understanding the way sex influences or impacts our lives is very important. Not only do humans interact sexually but also many animals. Human sexualityis being able to be comfortable with one to be able to interact with others in a deeper level. The Sambia tribe treats sex as something dirty and unpleasable but rather than a way to show their masculinity. Also, they go very far into the forest to be able to engage in sexual activity. In my option the Sambia lack sexual literacy. According to Herdt, In order to become sexual literate, ...you can develop healthy and positive attitudes in your thinking, communication, and lifestyle that will result that in satisfying sexual relationships when you decide you re ready for sexual intimacy. The men was more open to sexual activities and engaged at a very young age but for a women they had to wait until marriage. However, they would only engage in oral sex until they started to menstruate. Herdt mentions, [Important sexual literacy is] being able to emotionally

  • 41. The Iron Triangle For Healthcare The Iron triangle for healthcare consists of cost, quality, and access; these three characteristics when balanced create great healthcare. Managed Care Organizations combine the three to offer consumers with care that is appropriate for their individual needs. Our book describes managed care organizations as the cost management of healthcare services by controlling who the consumer sees and how much the service cost (Basics of the U.S Healthcare System, Niles). Taking a look at the history prior to the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 (HMO ACT of 1973) the implementation has been significant in balancing cost, and quality control. Before this Act was signed in to law by President Nixon healthcare costs were determined by fee for service. A fee for service or indemnity plan is a plan that allows the provider to determine the cost of service, this fee for service plan caused for healthcare costs to increase rapidly. An example of this would be going to the doctor with neck pain, being told to stretch then receiving a bill for 25,000 dollars. As could be understood the cost of healthcare had became a problem. A part of the problem of cost was the establishment of free healthcare for those eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, between 1965 and 1971 where there was no limitation on benefits. The cost of healthcare increased from 39 billion in 1965 to 75 billion in 1971. Providers had no concern for the cost of their care seeing that SSA recipients had no limits
