and full of suspense, the plot is nothing without a human connection. Themes connect books to real life situations. By using symbolism and
foreshadowing to portray two themes, Charles Dickens makes people more connected to the book and relates to their own life experiences. In his books,
Charles Dickens uses foreshadowing and symbolism to demonstrate his two common themes: social class and love. Throughout numerous works of
Dickens's, social class is a common theme. In his novel Great Expectations, social class is essential to the novel's plot and the theme for the overall
book ("Great," Shmoop). During the novel, Pip constantly tries to climb the social ladder to impress his lover, Estella. In the end, he receives a huge
fortune and leaves for London to become a proper gentleman. He thinks the fortune is from Estella's adopted mom, Miss. Havisham, but he learns that

Literary works has two elements that have been made up to build the story. They are intrinsic and extrinsic elements. These two elements can be used to
make people understand the story and interpret the literary works precisely. Afterwards, the interpretation of the literary works can be done through the
intrinsic elements. The understanding the intrinsic elements can lead us to know better on what a literary work talks about. This chapter will present
about the preliminary analysis of the intrinsic elements of Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine. It focused on the character, plot, setting, point of view, and

By the end of summer, Bradbury ends the novel by showing Douglas counting on the wine that had been made during the summer.
2.4 Point of View
Klarer says that "the term point of view, or narrative perspective, characterizes the way in which a text represents persons, events, and settings" (20).
Bradbury use "third person point of view" for Dandelion Wine. In the beginning the narrator only speaks what is on Douglas mind. Later the narrator
widens the view through the other characters mind as well.
The narrator keep jumping to the others mind, as each chapter tells different story of character. At one chapter, it tells what is going on in Mr.
Auffmann's head, and in another one it tells what happened in Tom's head. Eventually, the narrator goes back to Douglas as the story use him as the
center.
2.5 Theme

of yeast to crushed grapes. The yeasts multiply, via asexual reproduction, enabling the sugars found in grapes; glucose and fructose, to convert into
