What is personality?
• Personality is what makes a man who he is
• It is the inherent characteristics that define a
  man’s character
• The way he carries himself, his attitude, and the
way he approaches every aspect of life makes
  up his personality
• Society judges a person based on his
  personality
• A man’s success, both on the personal and
professional front, depends to a large extent on
  this
It is Personality that Matters
• People generally don’t realize how important
  personality development is
• If we believe that success depends on the
impression that we make on the other person,
then it is perhaps the most important aspect of our
  character
• Especially on the professional front, developing a
good personality is the key to success
Different Layers of Personality
• Some of the characteristics that make up a
  person’s personality are -
• Honesty
• Attitude
• Courage
• Steadfastness
• Perseverance
• Humility
• Individuality
How to Change Your Character
• The importance of possessing a good personality
  cannot be over-stressed
• Some small changes in one’s outlook and thinking
can go a long way in improving one’s character
• Belief in oneself, and the desire to succeed are the
  only prerequisites for this process
Influence of Thought
• Thoughts control a man’s actions
• We should adopt positive thinking in our day-to-
  day life
• Positive thinking incorporates within itself the
belief in oneself- the belief that one can achieve
  whatever one desires
• Always remember the immortal line – “I THINK,
  therefore I AM”
Controlling Negative Emotions
• Negative Emotions- Jealousy, Anger, Cowardice,
  Denial etc.
• Work towards keeping all negative emotions away
  from yourself
• These will sap you of your will-power, will impede
  success
• A successful man never lets these emotions get the
  best of him
• So rid yourself of those feelings and emotions that
  weaken your resolve
Take Responsibility
• Hallmark of all achievers
• Be the first in the group to take responsibility
for a given job – be a leader!
• Inspire others by your work, make them want
to live up to your standards – Lead from the
  front
• If you fail, take responsibility for your failure,
  and work on your shortcomings
How to Work?
• Work to the best of your abilities – like a master!
• Never be selfish in your work, a true leader puts
  others before self
• Work for the common good – ask yourself if what
you are doing will benefit society at large
• Love your work and believe in your capabilities
• Put all your effort into the task at hand – if at first
you don’t succeed, try and try again
Be Strong
• Be strong in the face of adversity
• A man’s true character is revealed in the face of
  great difficulties
• Never give in to weakness
• Every hurdle is a learning step
• Experience gained through adverse times are the
  best lessons
• Be a role model for others!
Individuality
• Imitation is your worst enemy
• Always retain your individuality, believe in
  yourself and your way
• The world will always know you for your
  individual actions
• Always be original, try to innovate and leave your
  personal stamp on your task
• Dare to be different, walk the path less-trodden
Believe in Equality
• Leave all prejudices behind, every man is equal
• A prejudiced mind can never function optimally
• Recognize each person’s strengths and
  weaknesses and act accordingly
• Never discriminate against someone, and you will
  gain everyone’s respect
• Be brave enough to speak out against inequality
and injustice if you see it happening around you
What are ethics?
• Ethics are the ideals that you should try to adhere
  to
• Be disciplined, be fair, be civil with everyone
• Inculcating proper ethics within oneself will
  always lead to success
• Be the change to bring about the change
Be Free and March On!
• Rid yourself of all negative emotions
• Inculcate positive values within yourself
• Be a leader amongst men, a leader that people will
  look up to
• Be original, be fair, be strong, be responsible
• The road to success will be yours to take
• March On!
