Personal Ethics Statement
Personal Ethics Statement: I will prove to be a good student and set an example for others by living
honest and showing respect for myself by following my schools code of ethics and conduct. Setting
examples will show people how to be honest in their everyday life. I feel people will learn how to
act by follow the examples people show.
Setting examples will show others how to lead an honest life. Essentially, I need to be a positive role
model. I will not cheat on my work. I will not lie to get out of doing work or a test. I am going to
follow the code of ethics and conduct.
I will be a positive role model. If people see me performing honest acts, then they will learn from
my example. I will be a leader of honesty so that way anyone ... Show more content on

I think this is correct for me because I do like to see the good in all people.
Blind Spot: My blind spot is that I am satisfied with too little good or Unrealistic role expectations. I
may fail those who are depending on me sometimes, especially if I feel like I have done all that I felt
like I needed to do. I personally would not know if I have done this because no one has expressed
that I have failed them. I also risk developing unrealistic role expectations because I may forget that
individuals are fallible no matter what their role may be.
Strengths and Weaknesses: My strengths include experience and tradition. These allow me to
consider multiple views and see exactly what is going on with the situation. This also lets me know
exactly what to do to make people happy. I also have the gift of free will and compassion. This lets
me have empathy for everyone. I do have weaknesses as well. Failure and confusion are a part of
my weakness. I will eventually confront the loss of my center if I do not develop the practice of
mindfulness and reflection. I do have compassion for all people. It says that my vice is becoming
greedy or hard hearted. I personally do not see myself doing that. My conscience would not let me
be greedy or hard hearted.
My values and the behavior results: My core value is that I balance between self and others. I want
to harmonize the rights of the people with the well–being of the community. I

Personal Values And Professional Ethics
Sometimes a social worker can experience conflicts and ethical dilemmas in the practice, and the
decision–making process requires a separation form the personal values and professional ethics. One
conflict that may arise while working with a client is keeping personal feelings and values separated
from the professional role. In the case, social worker Ajia Meux is working she is faced with some
conflicts that can intertwine with her personal values and professional ethics. She was concerned
with her client's decision of having children, his living situation, and his environment. Ms. Meux is
trying to make sure that the client use protection to avoid having more children and suggest him to
have a DNA test done. She understands that this is a decision that can help him better his life and
give him a more positive outcome for his future.
Ms. Meux is also working to change the client's living situation so he can get out of the dangerous
neighborhood he lives in. She is aware that Kenny is a student with a bright future, but he is caught
up in an environment filled with gangs, violent, drugs, poverty, among other. He needs to live like
his community lives in order to survive. Ms. Meux indicates that the client is just so immersed and
embedded in that sub–urban culture that he feels like he can't get out. As a social worker she thinks
that he 's forced to do things that, if in a different environment and with a different exposure, he
might not have to. From a personal

Professional or Personal Code Of Ethics for Nurses
I believe that the core task of nurses is to preserve life and enhance the quality of life of patient and
they focus on the code of ethics to discern wrong from right. However, some situations may require
multi–lateral thinking to ensure that the best is achieved for the patients, the institution, and the
relations. For instance, the debate about passive and active euthanasia is a controversial issue that
affects the execution of roles in the nursing profession. Thus, this paper highlights my personal
reflection on professional and personal code of ethics that ought to be taken on euthanasia.
In situational ethics perspectives, I believe that individuals have to make a decision that is
distinctively linked to a certain circumstance. The approach is unique since it focuses on the factors
that surround the patient, and the practitioners have to prioritize the needs of the person involved
(Avtgis, Rancer and Madlock, 2012). For instance, an individual that suffers from cancer in the
advanced stage may have limited time to live. Due to the excruciating suffering, the nurses may
consider passive or active euthanasia as this could put an end to the situation (Butts and Rich, 2016).
On one hand, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is instrumental as it helps to alleviate emotional pain while it reduces the financial burden. For
instance, in a situation where an individual is in a vegetative state, the family has to spend colossal
amounts of resources to ensure that they live. On the other hand, the institution has to delegate
duties to a significant number of nurses since the client is still on life support and this affects service
delivery to other patients. On this occasion, I believe the decision for active or passive euthanasia is
beneficial to the family, the institution, nurses and other

The Beginnings: Morals, Values, and Ethics Given to Me as a Child
It is certain that one's childhood has a great influence in rest of their lives. What I saw, heard,
understood, encouragements and discouragements received, books read, friends and neighbors,
religion, teachers are some of the important things that have shaped me into an adult. Personality
development happens in the earlier stages of one's life and therefore things such as morality is
established during childhood. A person's moral code is what defines his or her personality, while,

My personal values led me to choose a profession which requires caring, knowledge and integrity.
Hence, I always find my personal values going in line with the requirement of nursing profession.
However, situations may arise where there is a conflict between my personal values and beliefs and
those of patient's. In such situations it is advisable to get help from fellow nurses or other members
of the healthcare team. As nurses we are accountable each and every actions and determined to
uphold the professional ethics. For instance, in the case of a criminal defense lawyer, the lawyer's
personal morals probably finds homicide to be depraved and deplorable. However, his legal ethics
demands the suspect to be defended in the court of law, even if the lawyer knows for a fact that the
accused is guilty and that if he or she is freed it could lead to more crime. Hence, I believe that in
the professional life of a nurse, just like a lawyer's, ethics must supersede morals for the greater
good of upholding values when a nurse encounters an equally difficult situation and painful options

Personal Code Of Ethics
My personal code of ethics has helped me achieve my goals in life and do well in school. Whenever
I have to do something that is important to me, I make sure to keep my code of ethics in mind. My
code of ethics comes from the values my parents have imposed on me and the lessons they have
taught me throughout my life. Whenever I make a mistake or get in trouble, they make sure I
understand what I did wrong and make sure I understand the consequences that I will endure if
something like that happens again. The mistakes I have made helped me realize that I need to take
responsibility for my actions. My principles have developed with my experiences as well. For
example, during a tennis tournament that I played in last year, I had to compete against a girl that
was very good athlete and won many more tournaments that I have participated in. Even though I
knew I would lose, I didn't give up after the first game; I continued ... Show more content on

I would add on another principle as well. I would add the principle "Never sacrifice your education."
I think this principle is very important because education is very important to me in order for me to
live a successful life in the future. My parents have also imposed the importance of education since I
was young and it influenced me to take my education seriously. Everyone in society could
collectively be more social and kind to each other to be more ethical. There are many people in the
world that do not seem to be kind to each other regardless of if they know each other. I think the
world will be a better place if everyone was nice and caring so that we could all work together to
make a better place in general. Even though people might now have the same principles as me, I
think it's important for everyone to have principles and follow them to make the world a better

Personal Land Ethic Essay
I would describe my own personal land ethic simply with my personal definitions of both terms. My
personal definition of land is a substance in which animals and humans utilize by physically walking
on. My personal definition of ethics is something (idea or belief) someone holds close to their heart
and is willing to protect completely. When combining both personal definitions of land and ethic, I
define land ethic as viewing land with the utmost respect, feeling passionate and taking action
toward sustaining or benefiting the lands natural state. When comparing my definition of land ethic
to Aldo Leopold's definition, it is evident to see that we are both thinking similarly. When defining
the land, Leopold includes soils, waters, plants and

Personal Ethics Statement
According to Guido, ethics is the branch of philosophy concerned with the evaluation of human
action. A broader definition would be that ethics involves the principles or assumptions
underpinning the way individuals or groups ought to conduct themselves. In today's continuous
changing world, the one thing that remains constant for most of us is our personal value system of
beliefs, known as ethics. Ethics can also be referred to as morals. Therefore, ethics are those morals
that reflect and indicate issues that concern behaviors that are right or wrong and the good and bad
habits of individual character. This important standard of beliefs can in most cases create the

As a child I was taught to be polite and to never use obscenities, that there are many words within
the English language that I can use to express myself and this was enforce by family and teachers
and I was aware of the consequences of disobeying rules set forth. A core principle that was instilled
in me was to always ask for something, but most importantly the value of earning and deserving of
getting rewards, that nothing in life that is not earned without hard work and sacrifice. In earning
these rewards one can appreciate hard work and know the value of hard work. Another important
value taught to me as child is to be willing to share with others and that there is joy and fulfillment
in sharing and an appreciation for what you have and not to covet things your neighbors have. I had
to learn to appreciate what I had and show that appreciation and that has carried over into my adult
life wherein I appreciate gifts and people and I am very thankful for those in my life. I am very
careful of the friends I keep as one of the things instilled in me is that the people you surround
yourself is a reflection of the person you are.
As I became a teenager, an important lesson I learnt is to never judge others and to always respect

Personal Code Of Ethics Essay
My personal Code of Ethics includes Respect, Integrity, Fairness and Caring. Some situations in life
may be subjective, but what matters is making sure the results are fair for all parties. Through the
years I have found identifying and setting personal values to be increasingly difficult since the right
decisions aren't always appeasing to all that are involved. Every decision made or not made is
definitive of myself, and in believing so removing the need to conform to standards imposed by
society.
Honesty plays a vital role in my personal code of ethics requiring integrity, especially in dealing
with those near and dear to me. Integrity plays a vital role in my ability to hold myself accountable

It is my belief that when most of us near the end of our days of adolescence we all too soon realize
this ideology may be flawed in theory, that life will not always return what is given. Some may say
this is unfair, in fact most will, but fairness and impartiality is a trait that should not be omitted from
anyone's arsenal of moral ethics. I've learned that working in a business has challenge when it comes
to making ethical and just decisions My current profession as a banker has given me great insight
into the rewards in being impartial regardless of surrounding circumstances.
Working in any customer service capacity will test your moral fortitude on more than one occasion.
My experiences of both ends of the spectrum in a professional capacity or otherwise have proven
that if you make it a priority to do right by others despite objections, it will burden you much less
than the outcome of acting impulsively out of spite. There is no such thing as doing for one and not
the other, being fair when your impulses tempt irrational responses doesn't only show self–
discipline, but you also gain the same result in most cases; Hence the phrase treats others as you
would like to be treated. Though, it may seem that making an unethical decision during a tough
situation is easier, I prefer to stay true to my character and revise certain situations at hand to make

I feel having these qualities are essential in conducting business and in personal matters in the right
way. I feel being trustworthy is the cornerstone to my code of conduct. I feel this key to gaining trust
is being consistent and everything I do. What I mean by that is when I say I'm going to do
something or be at a certain place at an exact time I am there. Also when I say a project will be done
at a certain time it is done. I feel being consistent creates trust in business and in my personal life. I
feel being respectful is also key the theme to this value is treat people the way you want to be
treated. This is essential to creating a respectful environment by treating people the right way. The
value of caring is to be compassionate to others. In life it's a rollercoaster ride of emotions and as in
business or in personal matter I feel in some matters having this value as greatly helped with
relationships and creating trust by showing I care. The value of pride is one at first glance may seem
like that it doesn't belong but it one of the most important values. Taking pride in the business since
is doing your job right the first time and done with pride that it's done right. I feel having this value
creates trust in the product. The value of being responsible I feel is also essential in business and
personal matters. The key to this value is I take ownership of my actions. In business being a leader
I'm responsible for not only for the people I lead but also for the companies best interests. In my
personal life I'm responsible to the actions and decisions I make for my family. I feel this value
creates trust which is the cornerstone to my values. The theme to my code of conduct is trust. All of

My personal code of ethics
There are a lot of things I value in life. My religion is the most important of all for me. I might not
go to church every Sunday, or abide by all the Bible rules but I pray and believe in the almighty
God. I get happiness and hope from my religion and I feel like those two are what everyone wants in
their life. The second important thing that I value in my life is my family. My family gives me
courage, strength, hope, and a lots of support. I wouldn't be the person I am today with–out them.
They teach me and encourage me to be a better person. They give me good advice and help me
when I make a mistake. Third on my value list is education. Education helps me improve the way I
look at the world. It gives me a different perspective. Education helps me to achieve what I want to
be in life. The fourth thing that I value the most is my profession. I am studying to become a
forensic scientist. My profession gives me a reason to wake up every day and have something to
look forward too. It helps me to make my dreams come true and make a difference in the world.
This field is interesting and also makes me think about my morals and ethics every day. I believe I
have a really good moral character. I was born and raised in a third world country. We didn't have
much growing up but I had everything I needed and the love and support of my family and
community. This taught me to see the beauty in small day to day things. I

Personal Ethics
The American Nurses Association defines nursing as, "protection, promotion, and abilities,
prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of
human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations"
(American Nurses Association, 2004, p.7). My personal nursing philosophy stems from what I
believe to be core–nursing characteristics. These aspects are derived from my personal value system,
as well as those demonstrated throughout my academic and clinical careers. My belief system

It can be a very difficult task to put aside your own feelings regarding choices of a patient,
especially when it feels that their choice is harming or not allowing us as health care providers to
prevent further harm. What we must always remind ourselves is that attempting to force our
personal morals, values, or convictions on a patient can cause harm as well. It is the duty of a nurse
to always protect patients' rights even when they conflict with our own.
There are so many different pathways for a nurse. Regardless of the area of practice, ethical
dilemmas will be faced on a regular basis. Arming oneself with knowledge is important to assist in
navigation through moral and ethical situations. Examining one's own personal values and morals
helps provide insight into personal convictions and allows for less internal struggle when facing
ethical dilemmas. It is one's duty as a nurse to always keep up with current trends. This is
accomplished by partaking in a multidirectional approach to furthering education. Through
academic, evidence based practice, clinical practice, and others; I will forever seek opportunities to
expand my knowledge base to provide my patients with the best, well–rounded care I am capable of.
Only through this will I continue to grow as a nurse and ensure that I am preserving my beliefs of
core nursing characteristics.

Oftentimes, I am asked the question of why I am a nurse, and truth be told, sometimes I don't know
the answer why I want to be a nurse. All I really know is that I have wanted to help those in need
since I was a little girl. Time has really flown, I've been a professional nurse for almost 26 years.
When we discuss the topic of making ethical decisions today, I look to the very beginning of my
nursing career. I was very happy to see my pediatric patients had been discharged home from their
illness (e.g. fever, pneumonia, diarrhea, and infection disease etc) after we took good care of them.

I think that my personal values, my knowledge and my nursing experience as well as our very

which guide nurses to act in the right direction during their nursing practice. I can able to provide
the best care to my patients with the help of these ethics. Morals in nursing are defined as the rules
that help nurses distinguish between right and wrong and at the same time decide on the plan of
action. Sometimes, my personal values, philosophy and worldview may conflict with my obligation
to medical practice, creating an ethical dilemma. For example, I took care of a patient who had

to relax her bowels and a history of intestinal complications, she was ordered by the doctor to not

Personal Ethics : A Personal Code Of Ethics
We all have a personal code of ethics that we follow. This code of conduct is formed in our
experiences and relationships as we have matured into adults. For me, my code of ethics is based on
my Christian upbringing and personal life experiences. As Christians, we cannot hide our faith. If
we truly believe in Christ and desire to follow Him, then our faith should impact every aspect of our
lives, including the personal code of ethics that we turn to every day of our lives. We should not be
turning our faith on for Sunday morning and then back off again for the rest of the week. As
teachers, God has given us an important area of influence, and we have the awesome responsibility
and privilege to be a light in this dark world.
There are definitely legal issues that teachers have to stay mindful of and there are restrictions that
limit what educators can do. But, if you are a Christian then you should not be able to turn that on
and off like a light switch. Your faith should influence everything you say and anything you do. It
should also mean that you are looking for opportunities to share the truth.
We can show Christ to our students through our actions. If our students are ever going to be open to
what we have to say, they need to see a difference in who we are and what we do compared to others
who are not followers of faith. We have to love our students, but we have to do so in appropriate
ways. So many times innocent events can turn into ethics violations between students

Identity theft, embezzlement, breaking and entry and robbing a bank are all examples of people who
made bad judgment calls. These are all crimes of opportunity, crimes committed because the
opportunity presented itself and in the person's mind there was a justifiable reason to go through
with this obviously wrong action. These people were not always like this, people are not genetically
predisposed for dishonesty or to specifically lead a life that will for sure end up in jail. These

These are fluid guidelines that can be changed as a person moves and adapts through life to the
different paths that are taken. The best example of this are people who have been incarcerated and
have changed for the better, or vice versa people who have lead a pretty strict law abiding life but
made one wrong move which landed them in jail. When I was traveling one day during an eight
hour layover in North Carolina I had the opportunity to have lunch with a homeless man named
King George. He and I were the same age, both with names taken from the bible and happened to be
at the same burger spot on that day. King George was telling me about his life, he grew up with two
parents in a happy home and had the opportunity to go to college but decided to move away with a

was no longer interested in bettering himself and instead picked up some bad habits. He understood
where he was in life and was not happy. He told me how he wanted to go back to his parents and
start over. After a burger and conversation we parted ways, I like to think he did go back and is

In every area of society, ethics play a major role in decision making. Personal integrity and ethical
choices can influence a successful life and career. Many societal views correlate ethics with
integrity. Integrity is the single most important attribute a person can have; a trait that can be a
powerful weapon. Compromising personal principles in any way impacts your ability to conduct life
in a moral fashion. A person's core values reflect honesty and truth and focuses on the ability to
make the right and just decision.
Ethics is the study and examination of what constitutes good or bad conduct. It is the classification
of specific behaviors as right or wrong within a person's personal or profession life. Ethics, which is

Until certain things are compulsory we are content to lie there and watch the world rotate around us.
Throughout life we evolve standards founded on what we have learned or experienced as we

The first step is to educate an individual regarding what are anticipated behavioral standards. This
education may engage the practice of assisting the progeny in memorizing the Ten Commandments
or other scriptures that show lesson demeanor (flash.net, 2005). Examples in publications such as
The Holy Bible supply parents and educators a rudimentary convention of agreeable demeanor
standards. The Ten Commandments are the directions set by God from which we can evolve general
values of demeanor and ethical standards. These values assist us in realizing the characteristics of
right, lesson demeanor (flash.net, 2005). Various occurrences or tales of the persons mentioned in
The Holy Bible can be used to show the rewards of suitable behavior or the penalties of unsuitable

principles or standards because they weigh behavioral expectations. These ideals are the major
convictions parents try to instill in young children and what humanity anticipates of one another
without requiring broadcasting of the anticipation in any way. In other words, these behaviors are

Ethics Are The Same As Personal Ethics
Ethics are the rules of conduct we decide to live by. They are moral rules, though not necessary
laws. Business ethics are the same as personal ethics.
An excellent company is not a technically and economically a right company, it's also the one with
social values, or a certifiable standard on ethical, social and environmental aspects.
The relation of law and ethics or morality are that many types of laws restrict inmoral practices. For
example, one way to discuss that a law should be passed is to argue that the conduct the law is to
govern is inmoral and seriously harmful to society. For example, racial discrimination was immoral
befote it was illegal. Also child's work abuses are unethical and that's why they are illegal. Also in
law not everything that is not ethic can be made illegal, for example, lying is not ethic but also isn't
illegal. We can't equate law with morality. (Richard T. De George, 1986, p.15)
Business in a way that other human and social endeavors are not constrained. Ethics studies
morality. Morality is a term used to cover those practices and activities that are considered
importantly right and wrong; the rules that govern those activities; and the values that are embedded,
fostered, or pursued by those activities and practices. (Richard T. De George, 1986 p.87)

My Personal Code Of Ethic
My Personal Code of Ethic Personal ethic is what a person believes about morality and right and
wrong. Ethic should and can give real and practical guidance to our lives: gives our best rational
interests and without sacrificing others. My family, friends, and education have played profound
roles in the development of my personal ethic: conscience, personal integrity, responsibility, and
egalitarianism. Additionally, these influences approaches to determining what conduct is consistent
with these key values. Before I was in elementary school, I was living with my grandparents
because of my parents' work. My grandmother often sent the food to the homeless people, even
sometimes they wanted to defraud her money, but she still kept sending the food to them. Likewise,
she always taught me to help the poor, the disabled and people who need help, also not hurting
others, either in psychological or physiological. My grandmother never went to school, she even
does not know how to write her name, but the only thing she has is the conscience. Conscience is a
human ability to distinguish right from wrong. Due to the influence of conscience, when you do
something wrong, you will feel remorse. It can also be seen in the human conscience to distinguish
right and wrong when, as a determination reference values. Through her action, it reminds me that
what I had learned in ethics course– Kantianism. Kant says, requires that one possess a good will,
the good will is the only unconditional

Personal Ethics Ethics is a moral guide that helps a person understands right from wrong. A person's
moral guide is developed by how they were raised, the books they read, the experiences they have
lived through, religious beliefs, and cultural beliefs. These experiences allow a person to learn right
from wrong, good from bad through their own and other's experiences and creating their own set of
ethics. People take their set of ethics into their personal and professional life and continue to
develop them throughout life. This paper will look at ethics, morals, and values from the author's
point of view. A professional moral compass is developed by intertwining the professional education

The author is obligated to treat the patient but must go against her philosophy that everyone
deserves to be treated respectfully and with dignity. An ethical dilemma that the author often thinks
about would be with patient who is admitted with an aortic aneurysm and dissection. The dilemma
is that the patient has the same diagnosis her father died from. When her father was admitted to the
hospital with the aortic aneurysm and dissection, everyone told the family that he would be just fine
and aneurysm would heal. However, after her father's death, she researched the diagnosis and found
that the prognosis is not good. How does the author would handle this situation? Some of the
questions the nurse asks herself are: Does she, who knows and understand the disease process, tell
the family that the patient will be fine or does she, give the family the facts? Does she ask to be
reassigned due to the close nature of the diagnosis? Does she simply treat the patient and not say
anything about his being fine or not? Does she defer any questions to the doctor? Fortunately, this
ethical dilemma has not occurred yet but hopefully the author will be able to handle the situation if
and when it occurs. Each person has their own set of ethics. Ethics begin to develop as soon as a

My Personal Ethics Essay
According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, ethics is defined as "moral principles that
govern a person's or group's behavior." Therefore, in an ideal world, ethics should play the ultimate
role when making a decision. If ethics are the principles which guides one's behavior then, ideally,
all decisions should be made entirely based on ethics. Unfortunately, such is not always the case.
A few problems arise when one tries to make an ethical decision, especially as a leader. First, ethics
may mean different things to different people. For example, my religious and spiritual beliefs are the
foundation for what I deem ethical. However, for someone else, ethics might be based on laws or
their own personal understanding of what is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recognizing that not all decisions are ethical, one's moral principles acts as a guide for their
behavior and decision making. Therefore, ethics do (and should) play a major role in decision
making.
As previously mentioned, my religious and spiritual beliefs shape my personal ethics. I grew up in a
very Christian family (one grandfather was a pastor and the other is a deacon), so from a young age,
I was instilled with a belief in God and His teachings, according to the Bible. As I get older, I am
learning that a spiritual journey and relationship with God is one that is personal and cannot be
easily taught or given by others. Therefore, I will admit that as I continue on my personal journey
with God, my personal ethics are still being developed and shaped. Some behaviors that I may have
thought were acceptable in the past, I no longer view the same. For example, I have a lot of passion
for the organizations I am involved with, especially S.M.A.R.T, which is great as a leader. It is my
passion which keeps me dedicated to the organization. However, because of this passion, when
things are not going as I want them to, it might cause me to communicate in a way that is considered
disrespectful to others. Either my tone, the loudness of my voice, or the things that I say have made
others feel disrespected. Personally, I find disrespecting others to be unethical. Although I may not
consciously decide to disrespect them, it is a result of my behavior. While, at one point, I

Personal Ethics
In today's world, individuals can make a single decision that can have a profoundly positive or
negative affect on their family, their employer, coworkers, a nation, and even on the entire world.
The life we lead reflects the strength of a single trait: our personal character. Personal ethics are
different for each person but for the most part, people want to be known as a good person, someone
who can be trusted, and he or she are concerned about his or her relationships and personal

Does my behavior show that my decisions are based on a greater good? Since I understand the fact
that doing good is far better than doing something bad, ethical thinking allows me to make decisions
that will be right. Hopefully, this behavior will present or leave a positive impression. For example,
by displaying a positive attitude, showing a willingness to help out, making sure my work is
completed accurately and in a timely manner, rather than producing work that is inaccurate and late,
will let others know that they can trust me, and count on me to be there to help out, on both a
personal and professional level.
Where do your ethics come from?
Ethics has developed as people have reflected on the intentions and consequences of their acts. From
this reflection on the nature of human behavior, theories of conscience have developed, giving
direction to much ethical thinking. Each individual has a different ethical background that is taught
to them by his or her parents, teachers, mentors, religious beliefs, his or her own personal beliefs
and we as a society are all diverse in our own way. Most of our beliefs and patterns of behavior are
established through our observations and experiences of childhood through adulthood. For me
personally, my ethics come from what I learned from my parents, my religious background, my

Ethics In Islam : Personal Code Of Ethics
Personal Code of Ethics

Personal Code of Ethics Personal codes of ethics are important. Many of the problems in today's
society could be solved if more business people and politicians have codes of ethics where they look
out for the good of all, not just for the benefit of themselves or a select few. As a Muslim, adhering
to ethical standards is important, not only in business but in regular everyday life as well, Dr.
Muzammil Siddiqi, the president of the Fiqh Council of North America, says that there is a reference
point for this in the Qur'an: for you in the messenger of Allan is a fine example to follow (Al–Ahzab
33:21). When we Muslims stick to ethics in our daily lives, we become good examples to emulate.
Perhaps this will help some of the distorted image of Islam that many people have in the world. We
can become worthy ambassadors of our religion. Prophet Muhammad was an ideal human being
(Siddiqi). He was the best teacher, preacher, and guide; the best statesman, lawgiver, judge,
diplomat, negotiator of treaties, and military commander; the best family man, a good husband, a
kind father, a good neighbor, and friend of his people. He was also a very honest and successful
businessman (Siddiqi). The Prophet was chosen by God to be His last prophet at the age of 40.
Before that Muhammad was very much a businessman. He had a reputation as a hardworking,

Social workers respect the inherent dignity and worth of the person. Social workers treat each

Social workers seek to enhance clients' capacity and opportunity to change and to address their own

They seek to resolve conflicts between clients' interests and the broader society's interests in a

Questions On Personal Morals And Ethics
Sticking to Personal Morals in Business In today's business world, the issue of personal morals and
ethics has been a much researched and debated topic. This is particularly true in light of the many
financial scandals of the past few years. Therefore, one must decide, when faced with a moral
decision, if she will remain true to her engrained morals or waver to reap special benefits in the long
run. Personally, adhering to established morals and ethics is the basis of my entire being and
professional career. Presented is a discussion focused on maintaining personal ethics and morals
when faced with a career decisions which might differ from those established principles.
Personal Moral Philosophies Each individual has established her own criteria for personal morals
based upon experiences, attitudes, values, and beliefs (Neubaum, Pagel, Drexler, McKee–Ryan, &
Larson, 2009). When faced with decision dilemmas, she will fall back on her personal moral
philosophies to establish the best possible answer. According to Neubaum et al. (2009), individual's
moral structure falls with two dimensions: relativism and idealism. Further, relativism is a person's
loyalty to societal established rules of conduct no matter what the situation; rejection of relativism
would represent a thought that moral decision making should remain consistent no matter what the
situation (2009). Conversely, idealism is the extent in which someone is willing to hurt another.
Therefore, high idealism

The toughest calls could be considered those that challenge professional ethics and personal ethics.
When attorneys accept to the duty to represent a client, they have an ethical duty to protect
confidential information obtained through attorney–client meetings. However, how do attorneys
respond when an accused murderer admits to a crime that has previously been committed and is
currently being investigated? Can an attorney break the attorney–client privilege bind or should they

the first assignment was a one page paper which described our position on our personal code of

Personal Ethics: The Characteristics Of Ethics And Ethical...
Ethics is the most important thing that helps us to become professional leaders. To begin with, we
define ethics as the way how one should act (normative ethics), how to choose the right things to do,
and how we can implement these choices (descriptive ethics), and studies the way that human
beings should properly live. It is also referred to morality, and it is the aspect of ethics that we refer
to as personal integrity. We can interpret ethics by asking ourselves how we should act and what
person should I be, and what should I do. Being an ethical leader is the most important thing in our
lives and in management when I hopefully become the manager of my own company. There are a
certain number of ways of how I will get into the habit of making ethical decisions to demonstrate
ethical leadership and I will be using five of those characteristics. Firstly, I should treat people fairly
and justly as a leader. I will treat them equally, and based on their roles or character, gender, etc.
Secondly, I should give respect to all my customers and employees. In this situation, I will be kind

My Personal Statement Of Ethics And Personal Ethics
In our lives we use ethics on a daily basis along with our own morals. Our ethics and morals
influence the way we make decisions and the way we choose to respond in different situations. At
some point in a person's life there comes a time when a person must choose between sides, and be
able to differentiate between wrong and right and what is befitting for humanity as a whole, which is
when we apply our personal ethics system.
My personal ethics are composed of elements that regularly assist me in choosing the logical option
in tough situations. I consider myself an honest person– the truth is always important and is of the
up most importance to me. Throughout my life I have learned that it is always better to tell the truth
and this has always proven to be true in different situations. I have always been a firm believer in
the phrase "the truth will always set you free" and this has influenced the person I ... Show more

I believe that in order to succeed you have to put in the effort to get to where you want to be. I feel
that honesty and hard work together has taught me that two plus dedication I can achieve the things I
aspire, which goes to say that I am up for a challenge. I am not afraid to stick up for the things I
believe in, and being a balanced person, I seldom let my emotions get the better of me in a situation,
which is needed in times when the truth has to triumph.
I strongly believe that it is crucial to treat others the way you want to be treated in order to acquire
the same treatment in return. Hence, why I go above and beyond to always be nice to those I
encounter throughout my day. This confirms that I don't cause anyone extra trouble, if any, and
encourages friendly communication for most of the time.
I also feel that an important personal ethic trait one should have is consistency. I strive to always
have consistency in my work and to always convey results that are not

Personal Ethics Statement

  • 1. Personal Ethics Statement Personal Ethics Statement: I will prove to be a good student and set an example for others by living honest and showing respect for myself by following my schools code of ethics and conduct. Setting examples will show people how to be honest in their everyday life. I feel people will learn how to act by follow the examples people show. Setting examples will show others how to lead an honest life. Essentially, I need to be a positive role model. I will not cheat on my work. I will not lie to get out of doing work or a test. I am going to follow the code of ethics and conduct. I will be a positive role model. If people see me performing honest acts, then they will learn from my example. Blind Spot: My blind spot is that I am satisfied with too little good or Unrealistic role expectations. I may fail those who are depending on me sometimes, especially if I feel like I have done all that I felt like I needed to do. I personally would not know if I have done this because no one has expressed that I have failed them. I also risk developing unrealistic role expectations because I may forget that individuals are fallible no matter what their role may be. Strengths and Weaknesses: My strengths include experience and tradition. These allow me to consider multiple views and see exactly what is going on with the situation. This also lets me know exactly what to do to make people happy. I also have the gift of free will and compassion. This lets me have empathy for everyone. I do have weaknesses as well. Failure and confusion are a part of my weakness. I will eventually confront the loss of my center if I do not develop the practice of mindfulness and reflection. I do have compassion for all people. It says that my vice is becoming greedy or hard hearted. I personally do not see myself doing that. My conscience would not let me be greedy or hard hearted. Personal Values And Professional Ethics Sometimes a social worker can experience conflicts and ethical dilemmas in the practice, and the decision–making process requires a separation form the personal values and professional ethics. One conflict that may arise while working with a client is keeping personal feelings and values separated from the professional role. In the case, social worker Ajia Meux is working she is faced with some conflicts that can intertwine with her personal values and professional ethics. She was concerned with her client's decision of having children, his living situation, and his environment. Ms. Meux is trying to make sure that the client use protection to avoid having more children and suggest him to have a DNA test done. She understands that this is a decision that can help him better his life and give him a more positive outcome for his future. Ms. Meux is also working to change the client's living situation so he can get out of the dangerous neighborhood he lives in. She is aware that Kenny is a student with a bright future, but he is caught up in an environment filled with gangs, violent, drugs, poverty, among other. He needs to live like his community lives in order to survive. Ms. Meux indicates that the client is just so immersed and embedded in that sub–urban culture that he feels like he can't get out. Personal Code Of Ethics Essay Professional or Personal Code Of Ethics for Nurses I believe that the core task of nurses is to preserve life and enhance the quality of life of patient and they focus on the code of ethics to discern wrong from right. However, some situations may require multi–lateral thinking to ensure that the best is achieved for the patients, the institution, and the relations. For instance, the debate about passive and active euthanasia is a controversial issue that affects the execution of roles in the nursing profession. Thus, this paper highlights my personal reflection on professional and personal code of ethics that ought to be taken on euthanasia. In situational ethics perspectives, I believe that individuals have to make a decision that is distinctively linked to a certain circumstance. The approach is unique since it focuses on the factors that surround the patient, and the practitioners have to prioritize the needs of the person involved (Avtgis, Rancer and Madlock, 2012). For instance, an individual that suffers from cancer in the advanced stage may have limited time to live. Due to the excruciating suffering, the nurses may consider passive or active euthanasia as this could put an end to the situation (Butts and Rich, 2016). On one hand, ... My personal values led me to choose a profession which requires caring, knowledge and integrity. Hence, I always find my personal values going in line with the requirement of nursing profession. However, situations may arise where there is a conflict between my personal values and beliefs and those of patient's. In such situations it is advisable to get help from fellow nurses or other members of the healthcare team. As nurses we are accountable each and every actions and determined to uphold the professional ethics. For instance, in the case of a criminal defense lawyer, the lawyer's personal morals probably finds homicide to be depraved and deplorable. However, his legal ethics demands the suspect to be defended in the court of law, even if the lawyer knows for a fact that the accused is guilty and that if he or she is freed it could lead to more crime. Hence, I believe that in the professional life of a nurse, just like a lawyer's, ethics must supersede morals for the greater good of upholding values when a nurse encounters an equally difficult situation and painful options to choose ... Whenever I have to do something that is important to me, I make sure to keep my code of ethics in mind. My code of ethics comes from the values my parents have imposed on me and the lessons they have taught me throughout my life. Whenever I make a mistake or get in trouble, they make sure I understand what I did wrong and make sure I understand the consequences that I will endure if something like that happens again. The mistakes I have made helped me realize that I need to take responsibility for my actions. My principles have developed with my experiences as well. Everyone in society could collectively be more social and kind to each other to be more ethical. There are many people in the world that do not seem to be kind to each other regardless of if they know each other. I think the world will be a better place if everyone was nice and caring so that we could all work together to make a better place in general. My personal definition of land is a substance in which animals and humans utilize by physically walking on. My personal definition of ethics is something (idea or belief) someone holds close to their heart and is willing to protect completely. When combining both personal definitions of land and ethic, I define land ethic as viewing land with the utmost respect, feeling passionate and taking action toward sustaining or benefiting the lands natural state. A broader definition would be that ethics involves the principles or assumptions underpinning the way individuals or groups ought to conduct themselves. Some situations in life may be subjective, but what matters is making sure the results are fair for all parties. Through the years I have found identifying and setting personal values to be increasingly difficult since the right decisions aren't always appeasing to all that are involved. Every decision made or not made is definitive of myself, and in believing so removing the need to conform to standards imposed by society. Some may say this is unfair, in fact most will, but fairness and impartiality is a trait that should not be omitted from anyone's arsenal of moral ethics. I've learned that working in a business has challenge when it comes to making ethical and just decisions My current profession as a banker has given me great insight into the rewards in being impartial regardless of surrounding circumstances. Working in any customer service capacity will test your moral fortitude on more than one occasion. My experiences of both ends of the spectrum in a professional capacity or otherwise have proven that if you make it a priority to do right by others despite objections, it will burden you much less than the outcome of acting impulsively out of spite. There is no such thing as doing for one and not the other, being fair when your impulses tempt irrational responses doesn't only show self– discipline, but you also gain the same result in most cases; Hence the phrase treats others as you would like to be treated. My religion is the most important of all for me. I might not go to church every Sunday, or abide by all the Bible rules but I pray and believe in the almighty God. I get happiness and hope from my religion and I feel like those two are what everyone wants in their life. The second important thing that I value in my life is my family. My family gives me courage, strength, hope, and a lots of support. I wouldn't be the person I am today with–out them. They teach me and encourage me to be a better person. They give me good advice and help me when I make a mistake. Third on my value list is education. Education helps me improve the way I look at the world. It gives me a different perspective. Education helps me to achieve what I want to be in life. The fourth thing that I value the most is my profession. I am studying to become a forensic scientist. My profession gives me a reason to wake up every day and have something to look forward too. It helps me to make my dreams come true and make a difference in the world. This field is interesting and also makes me think about my morals and ethics every day. I believe I have a really good moral character. I was born and raised in a third world country. It can be a very difficult task to put aside your own feelings regarding choices of a patient, especially when it feels that their choice is harming or not allowing us as health care providers to prevent further harm. What we must always remind ourselves is that attempting to force our personal morals, values, or convictions on a patient can cause harm as well. It is the duty of a nurse to always protect patients' rights even when they conflict with our own. There are so many different pathways for a nurse. Regardless of the area of practice, ethical dilemmas will be faced on a regular basis. Arming oneself with knowledge is important to assist in navigation through moral and ethical situations. Examining one's own personal values and morals helps provide insight into personal convictions and allows for less internal struggle when facing ethical dilemmas. All I really know is that I have wanted to help those in need since I was a little girl. Time has really flown, I've been a professional nurse for almost 26 years. When we discuss the topic of making ethical decisions today, I look to the very beginning of my nursing career. • 27. Personal Ethics : A Personal Code Of Ethics We all have a personal code of ethics that we follow. This code of conduct is formed in our experiences and relationships as we have matured into adults. For me, my code of ethics is based on my Christian upbringing and personal life experiences. As Christians, we cannot hide our faith. If we truly believe in Christ and desire to follow Him, then our faith should impact every aspect of our lives, including the personal code of ethics that we turn to every day of our lives. We should not be turning our faith on for Sunday morning and then back off again for the rest of the week. As teachers, God has given us an important area of influence, and we have the awesome responsibility and privilege to be a light in this dark world. There are definitely legal issues that teachers have to stay mindful of and there are restrictions that limit what educators can do. But, if you are a Christian then you should not be able to turn that on and off like a light switch. Your faith should influence everything you say and anything you do. It should also mean that you are looking for opportunities to share the truth. We can show Christ to our students through our actions. If our students are ever going to be open to what we have to say, they need to see a difference in who we are and what we do compared to others who are not followers of faith. We have to love our students, but we have to do so in appropriate ways. So many times innocent events can turn into ethics violations between students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An excellent company is not a technically and economically a right company, it's also the one with social values, or a certifiable standard on ethical, social and environmental aspects. The relation of law and ethics or morality are that many types of laws restrict inmoral practices. For example, one way to discuss that a law should be passed is to argue that the conduct the law is to govern is inmoral and seriously harmful to society. For example, racial discrimination was immoral befote it was illegal. Also child's work abuses are unethical and that's why they are illegal. Also in law not everything that is not ethic can be made illegal, for example, lying is not ethic but also isn't illegal. We can't equate law with morality. (Richard T. Likewise, she always taught me to help the poor, the disabled and people who need help, also not hurting others, either in psychological or physiological. My grandmother never went to school, she even does not know how to write her name, but the only thing she has is the conscience. Conscience is a human ability to distinguish right from wrong. Due to the influence of conscience, when you do something wrong, you will feel remorse. Therefore, in an ideal world, ethics should play the ultimate role when making a decision. If ethics are the principles which guides one's behavior then, ideally, all decisions should be made entirely based on ethics. Unfortunately, such is not always the case. A few problems arise when one tries to make an ethical decision, especially as a leader. First, ethics may mean different things to different people. However, because of this passion, when things are not going as I want them to, it might cause me to communicate in a way that is considered disrespectful to others. As a Muslim, adhering to ethical standards is important, not only in business but in regular everyday life as well, Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, the president of the Fiqh Council of North America, says that there is a reference point for this in the Qur'an: for you in the messenger of Allan is a fine example to follow (Al–Ahzab 33:21). When we Muslims stick to ethics in our daily lives, we become good examples to emulate. Perhaps this will help some of the distorted image of Islam that many people have in the world. We can become worthy ambassadors of our religion. Prophet Muhammad was an ideal human being (Siddiqi). He was the best teacher, preacher, and guide; the best statesman, lawgiver, judge, diplomat, negotiator of treaties, and military commander; the best family man, a good husband, a kind father, a good neighbor, and friend of his people. He was also a very honest and successful businessman (Siddiqi). The Prophet was chosen by God to be His last prophet at the age of 40. Before that Muhammad was very much a businessman. Ethics, on the other hand, are how we behave in the face of difficult situations (Bottorff, 2005). What are your ethics? Now that we have defined ethics, we will take a look at what our ethics are. In reality, our ethical behavior is at its best when intents, means, and ends, individually and collectively pursue a greater good. For me personally, my ethics would be based on my behavior, how I handle situations, can I be trusted, am I reliable and responsible? Does my behavior show that my decisions are based on a greater good? Since I understand the fact that doing good is far better than doing something bad, ethical thinking allows me to make decisions that will be right. Hopefully, this behavior will present or leave a positive impression. For example, by displaying a positive attitude, showing a willingness to help out, making sure my work is completed accurately and in a timely manner, rather than producing work that is inaccurate and late, will let others know that they can trust me, and count on me to be there to help out, on both a personal and professional level. Where do your ethics come from? Ethics has developed as people have reflected on the intentions and consequences of their acts. From this reflection on the nature of human behavior, theories of conscience have developed, giving direction to much ethical thinking. Each individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Further, relativism is a person's loyalty to societal established rules of conduct no matter what the situation; rejection of relativism would represent a thought that moral decision making should remain consistent no matter what the situation (2009).
