This document provides instructions for assessing the performance of a selected subdivision within an organization by conducting a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis. It includes identifying internal and external factors that positively and negatively affect organizational performance and analyzing whether the organization is maximizing its strengths/opportunities and minimizing its weaknesses/threats. It then provides a topic for analysis - the Florida Re-Entry Subdivision, which provides rehabilitation programs for inmates to reduce recidivism. Recent challenges for this subdivision include budget constraints, overpopulation, lack of staff, and high recidivism rates, though the staff shows motivation and the department has flexibility.
