This document discusses the topic of love from a religious perspective. It begins by noting that people's perceptions of love can be damaged by bad examples, abuse, mistreatment, trauma and other factors. This can lead to fear, insecurity and an unwillingness to enter relationships. However, the document says God's love is perfect and based on his awareness of our value. It cites several Bible passages expressing God's love for humanity and how believing in that love through Jesus can help overcome fear. In the end, it asks the reader whether they will accept God's love.
4. Love is based on
awareness
Think of a parent and child
relationship…
Sibling relationships
Even some friendships
5. JOHN 3: 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life
6. Our perception
of love can be
damaged
◦ Bad examples
◦ Abuse
◦ Mistreatment by those who claim to love you
◦ Church hurt
◦ Trauma
◦ Heartbreak
◦ TV
◦ Social Media
7. This can lead to…
◦ Fear
◦ Insecurity
◦ Distorted perception of love
◦ Unwillingness to enter into future relationships
◦ Protectionist measures to keep yourself from being hurt again
◦ Not being able to love others the way you want to
◦ Feeling undervalued
◦ Fear
9. Love is about
Value
◦ If you don’t feel value, you will spend seeking value in other things,
by controlling and managing what you think is best for you and what
will please you
10. JOHN 3: 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life
11. Love is based on awareness
You have to replace these lies of the enemy with truth
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not
proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily
angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but
rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres. Love never fails
12. ROMANS 8 : 1
Therefore, there is
now no
condemnation for
those who are in
Christ Jesus
13. JOHN 3: 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life
14. 1 John 4: 16- 19
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we
live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of
judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in
this world.
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is
for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his
perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.
15. ROMANS 5: 8
But God demonstrates
his own love for us in
this: While we were
still sinners, Christ
died for us.
17. GOD DESIRES A LOVING RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU
GOD IS LOVE! HE CANNOT DO ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF WHO HE IS!
HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH THAT HE DIED, EVEN WHEN YOU SHOWED NO SIGN
THAT YOU LOVED HIM, OR THAT YOU WOULD TURN AWAY FROM SIN
WE LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US!
GOD LOVES YOU
