God's love is described through various types: agape, philia, storge, and eros. Agape refers to sacrificial love, the highest form exemplified by God sending his son Jesus. Philia is brotherly love between friends. Storge describes natural family affection, while eros involves passionate love within marriage. Loving someone means accepting them, prioritizing their happiness, and finding joy in their company. Similarly, God loves humans unconditionally - he forgives sins, accepts people as they are, and finds pleasure in spending time with believers. God's love is measured by his mercy, compassion, forgiveness and righteousness. He wants all people to turn from evil and find peace. True love for God involves keeping
Agape love is difficult for us. It does not come easily. God commands Agape love. Agape love does not change with feelings or depend on feelings. Agape love is a decision. God never command something of us that he will not see that we can accomplish it
God's love is defined as sacrificial love (agape) that involves laying down one's life for others. Jesus demonstrated this by sacrificing his life for humanity. We are called to love others in the same way Jesus loved us - by forgiving, understanding others, finding common ground, sharing our lives with them, and sharing our relationship with God, in order to transform enemies into friends. When we love others in this way, it completes God's love among us and allows us to experience God's presence in our lives.
The Love Code – Love does not Fly off the HandleIkeja, Lagos
This document discusses the concept of love from a biblical perspective. It states that love is life, and those who do not live in love are dead. True love, or "Heaven's Culture," means not flying off the handle in anger and not keeping score of others' sins. It then examines the nature of anger and its causes. The document provides biblical references about anger and contrasts anger with love. It gives examples from the Bible of people who did not keep scores, such as Jephthah, Joseph, and Jesus. Finally, it emphasizes that as followers of Christ, we must practice love.
This document discusses the nature and characteristics of God. It begins by quoting famous scientists and inventors about God. It then establishes that God created all things and is worthy of glory, honor and power. The three main characteristics of God discussed are that he is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. God is also described as loving, merciful and gracious. Several Bible verses are cited to support these points. The document emphasizes that God's love for humanity is unconditional. It concludes by encouraging the reader to respond to God through lifestyle worship and praise.
Unconditional Love talk delivered by Shane and Andrea Fell at the Young Couples Fellowship at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin. April 10, 2010.
This document discusses how to show love to others according to the Bible. It says we should love one another as God loves us. We can show love through support, help, friendship, prayer, teaching, spending time together, and fellowship. We should not keep records of others' wrongs, as that can lead to unforgiveness and resentment. When reading the Bible, we should pray to the Holy Spirit to help us understand and learn. We should accept Jesus as our savior and lord, and remember his crucifixion to save us from our sins.

The document discusses the importance of love according to several Bible passages. It explains that love is the greatest commandment and that without love, acts like faith, prophecy, and charity mean nothing. Love is described as patient, kind, protective, hopeful, and persevering. The document concludes that we should treat others the way we wish to be treated and that love involves doing what is right for the right reasons in the right way at the right time.
This document discusses the fifth petition of the Lord's Prayer - "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." It explains that God forgives by restoring our relationship with Him, dropping all charges against us, waiving the penalty for our sins, and paying the penalty for our sins Himself through Jesus. It then discusses the importance of forgiving others as God forgives us, noting that if we do not forgive others God will not forgive us. Various types and aspects of forgiveness between people are also outlined from scripture.
Repentance is the first step in beginning a walk with God and is vital to maintaining that relationship. Repentance involves acknowledging one's sins and faults, resolving not to repeat offenses, and attempting to live according to God's teachings. It requires admitting guilt, making amends, and living a life that pleases God. While humans often justify sins based on circumstances, the Bible teaches that God does not condone sin in any form. True repentance involves understanding what displeases God, acknowledging one's sinful nature, repenting of sins, and seeking to live righteously according to God's will. Repentance is fundamental to having a relationship with God and finding redemption through faith in Jesus Christ.
This document discusses temptation, sin, and victory over temptation from a biblical perspective. It begins by asking a series of questions about temptation and sin. It then provides biblical answers to these questions by citing passages from 1 Corinthians 10:13 and James 1:2-4. The document explains that temptation comes from outside sources or from our own evil desires, but God will not let us be tempted beyond our ability to resist. It outlines the four steps of temptation leading to sin, and the alternative four steps to overcoming temptation. While temptation is not a sin, yielding to it is. Falling in Love wtih God: Integration and Transformationruffing
1. Pedro Arrupe argues that falling in love with God in an absolute way is the most practical thing one can do, as what you love will affect everything in your life.
2. Loving God can transform one's desires and lead them to take risks like Mother Theresa serving the poor or Ignatius founding the Society of Jesus.
3. Both human love and spiritual love of God involve elements of pleasure, intimacy, and transformation, and exploring the relationship between these can provide insights for spiritual direction.
Fear is described as the ultimate sin and weapon of mass destruction. It inhibits love and faith, and allows negative thoughts and emotions to take control. Job's story shows how giving in to fear led to the destruction of his life. However, having spiritual authority through faith in God and speaking life-affirming words can help defuse fear's power and restore prosperity.
Fear of Exposure Sermon by Hayley SolichHayley Solich
Hayley Solich explores the concept of fear of exposure, covering the themes of:
- Unrighteous Fear vs Righteous Fear
- Sin vs Forgiveness
- Grace vs Shame
- Walking in the Light vs Walking in Darkness
- Repentance and Confession vs Trying to Hide Your Sin
This sermon discusses how focusing on the negative can damage relationships and encourages focusing on the positive instead. It addresses not focusing on the negative with children, spouses, neighbors, country, church, and God. Key relationships like family, marriage, and our relationship with God can be harmed by judging and complaining about others. Instead, we should have love for one another, forgive each other, and not judge others in the same way we do not want to be judged.
This is the PowerPoint presentation of our class on surrendering to God at the Christian workshop hosted by Greenville Baptist Church First Lady and founder of Daughters of the King Ministry Angela Dorsey.
We are called to imitate our heavenly Father and walk in His love. When we abide in the Father's love, we move in union with God. We are actually moving in God and through God, and God is moving in and through us. This is a very powerful place to live and operate out of.

This document discusses the assurance of forgiveness according to the Bible. It states that when we confess our sins to God, we enter into light rather than remaining in darkness. It outlines the process of forgiveness, noting that God promises to completely wipe out and forget our sins forever when we confess. However, it warns that intentionally repeating sins or failing to forgive others can remove this assurance. The devil's strategy is to make us feel unworthy and misuse God's forgiveness, but we can overcome this by confessing our sins to God.
This document contains the text of a sermon given at the Jackson Street Church of Christ. The sermon discusses how faith, hope, and love will remain even after other things fail. It emphasizes that faith makes things possible, hope makes things bright, and love makes things easy. The greatest of these is love. The sermon encourages focusing on eternal spiritual things rather than temporary earthly things and cultivating love for God and others.
This document discusses assurance of guidance from God. It outlines our role in seeking guidance through trusting God, dedicating our lives to him, and listening to his voice. God's role is to give wisdom, lead us to truth, and guide us in all aspects of life. Key provisions for guidance include the Holy Spirit, God's word, and godly counselors. David's life is presented as an example of following God's guidance from humble beginnings to becoming king. Specific guidance comes through the Holy Spirit and counselors, while God's general will is revealed through scripture. The document ends with bible verses on God's revealed guidance and discussion questions.
God is the essence and source of love. The Bible describes God's love through His sacrifice of Jesus on the cross to save humanity from sin. As the greatest expression of love, God gave His only Son so that all may have eternal life through faith in Him. Additionally, God's love is perfect and without end, as shown through the qualities of love described in 1 Corinthians 13. Since God is love, He created humans with the ability to love as well, through His gift of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
The document provides a guided Bible study on Luke 4:5-8, which describes Jesus being tempted by the devil. It includes:
1) An overview of the passage, noting that the devil tempted Jesus by showing him all the kingdoms of the world and offering them if Jesus would worship the devil.
2) A discussion of three principles for resisting temptation, including that Satan offers the world to gain people's souls, the importance of reading "the fine print" in any temptation, and that what is worshipped will ultimately be served.
3) Questions for reflection and affirmations to recite in resisting temptation focused on sight and worshipping only God.
One of the important themes of the Lord's Prayer is "Forgiveness". In this sermon, Pastor Albert Kang takes you on a journey of forgiveness. This will not only free your soul of bitterness but it will also help you get reconnected with people whom you had bad experiences before. It is not so much that they have changed but that you have been empowered to forgive them. New attacks will no longer hurt you because you now have the spiritual tenacity to overcome. In short, you have a spiritual immunity system build-up so strongly that nothing will be able to break in and destroy your peace with the Lord.
God is perfectly holy, loving, and just, while people are sinful and fall short of God's standards. The penalty for sin is death and separation from God. Jesus lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, satisfying both God's love and justice. Eternal life is a free gift received only through believing in Jesus, which involves realizing one's sinfulness, inability to save oneself, and placing one's trust fully in Jesus alone. True belief leads one to receive Jesus into their life.
This document discusses light vs darkness in 1 John 1:5-10 and addresses the philosophy of panentheism. It analyzes analogies used in the passage comparing God to light and sin to darkness. It explains that while we are all sinners, Jesus' blood cleanses us from sin if we confess our sins. Bad philosophies like panentheism that equate God with creation are addressed, showing we must worship the Creator alone.
This document discusses different tenses in Spanish including the present perfect, past perfect, present perfect progressive, and future perfect progressive. It provides examples of how to form each tense affirmatively, negatively, and interrogatively. For example, the present perfect is used to say an action happened before now, and is formed as "I have written a book" affirmatively and "I haven't written a book" negatively.

We will be looking into the Old Testament book of Joshua chapter 3 for our lesson content to discuss the subject of " The Unknown" and more specifically the fear of it and ultimately how to face it.
Isaiah 43:18-19 says “Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I AM DOING A NEW THING;
now it springs forth, DO YOU NOT PERCEIVE IT?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Often, "the old things": are the comfortable things , because they are the known things...But just because they are comfortable does not mean they are the good things.
Fear of the unknown often will keep us from things that are better for us and in fact - sometimes the BEST things for us... But "DO WE PERCEIVE IT?"
Christ can do a new thing with you , but you have to make a leap of faith into The Unknown!
Riding the wave of the future consumer directed social support august 2014Carrie Hayter
The document summarizes a presentation by Carrie Hayter on consumer directed social support. It discusses the transition to more personalized support services with greater choice, control and participation from service users. Consumer directed care models give individuals more control over their budgets and resources to better meet their individual needs and priorities. The National Disability Insurance Scheme and Home Care Packages in Australia are moving towards more consumer directed models. Service providers need to assess how prepared they are to transition their practices to be more consumer directed and identify any changes needed to policies, staff skills, community partnerships or marketing.
God is love, and those who do not love do not know God. True love is patient, kind, not jealous or boastful, and does not seek its own interests. Love bears all things and endures all times. Though other gifts may cease, love never fails. We are commanded to love God with all our being and love our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus says we must abide in his love by keeping his commandments. He calls us friends and chose us to bear fruit through obedience. As God loved us through sending Jesus, so we ought to love one another in deed. The Holy Spirit helps us live a life of love for God and others.
This document contains numerous passages from the Bible that discuss the importance and nature of love. It describes love as being patient, kind, not envious or boastful. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. The greatest things are faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. God is defined as love, and those who do not love do not know God. We are called to love one another as God first loved us.
The document discusses different aspects of God's love and justice based on biblical passages. It defines different types of love mentioned in the Bible like agape love, philia love, storge love, and eros love. It provides examples from the Bible where God demonstrates both his loving and just nature, such as punishing people for their sins but also protecting and providing for them. The document emphasizes that God's love is unconditional while human love is conditional, and that truly loving God means keeping his commandments and showing love for others.
The document discusses how to love one another as God loves us. It says God loves us unconditionally, forever, and by forgiving our sins. We are commanded to love each other in the same way. We should elevate others by being genuinely interested in them, giving sincere appreciation and compliments, making them feel important, encouraging one another, and being respectful of others.
The document discusses how God commands Christians to love one another as He loves us. It says we should love others unconditionally, forgive their wrongs, and serve each other. We are called to elevate others by showing genuine interest in them, giving sincere compliments, encouraging them, and being respectful of their ideas. Loving others is proof that we love God.
The document discusses how Christians should love and connect with one another based on biblical teachings. It provides passages from the books of John, Romans, Colossians, and Ephesians that instruct believers to love unconditionally, forgive each other, be patient and humble, and take delight in honoring one another. Christians are called to connect by establishing rapport, serving others in need, sharing in both joy and sorrow, and living at peace with all people as much as possible. The key is to clothe oneself with kindness, humility, and patience in order to connect through respect, listening, and understanding other perspectives.

God's love is defined as sacrificial love (agape) that involves laying down one's life for others. Jesus demonstrated this by sacrificing his life for humanity. We are called to love others in the same way Jesus loved - by forgiving, understanding others, finding common ground, sharing our lives with them, and sharing our relationship with God, in order to transform enemies into friends. When we love others in this way, it completes God's love among us and allows us to experience God's presence in our lives.
The document discusses living a Godly life through love as described in several Bible passages. It explores the definitions of love in the worldly sense and biblical sense according to 1 John 4:7-10 and 16. Several passages from 1 Corinthians 13 are presented that describe love as patient, kind, protective, hopeful, and as the greatest virtue. The document encourages living with humility as Christ did through the passage in Philippians 2:1-18. It emphasizes remembering to act on faith through obeying God's word as stated in James 1:22 and 1 John 2:4-6. The overarching message is to live a Godly life through demonstrating love for others as Christ did.
God is love. Love defines God's nature and is the motivation for all His actions, including creating the world and sending His Son to die for humanity. To know God is to know His perfect, unconditional love. God's love has no limits or boundaries and is not based on our qualities, but solely on His desire to do what is best for His creations. Knowing God's infinite love challenges believers to reflect His love by loving others as He first loved us.
God's love is demonstrated through being tough, tender, trustworthy, and triumphant. We are commanded to love others as God has loved us. To truly love as God loves, we must first receive His love by obeying His commands to believe, repent, confess our sins, and be baptized.
In this message we look at what it means to abide in the Father's love. We discover eight outcomes of abiding in the Father's love and learn the importance of obedience and divine discipline to abide in the Father's love.

A357 Hate can stir up strife, but love can cover up all mistakes. hate, love...franktsao4
God says that hate can stir up disputes, and love can cover up all mistakes. Therefore, in God’s concept, hate and love are opposites. However, in today’s society, the word love can no longer find the original meaning of God, because God is Love, and it would be a big mistake if we think that the love of the world is the same as the love of God. In the discussion below, I divide love into verbs and nouns, because only through the verb of love can the noun of love be expressed. Because this nature of love does not exist in this world. Only when we do the actions of love that God wants us to do, can we show the name of love, that is, have a divine disposition. A357
The document discusses loving one another as God loves us. It says that each person has a part to play and different gifts to offer. God calls us to serve and love one another using the abilities he has given us. When we obey God and love others, we remain in his love and bring him joy.
The document discusses the commandment to love one another that Christians have received from Christ. It notes that in John 15:9-17 and 13:34-35, Jesus explicitly commands his followers to love one another, establishing it as the central commandment. The document argues that in 1 John 2:7-11, when John refers to an "old commandment," he is referring back to this command from Jesus to love one another. The motivation for Christians to love one another stems from their desire to love and serve God, who showed his grace through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.
All love originates with God. You must first experience true love to be able to give true love. A Valentine's Day sermon. http://edthepastor.podbean.com/e/all-we-need-is-love-1-john-47-21/?token=0870c759cc85ff9f8dde8fe29b02a601
God calls the church to belong (connect with God and each other), grow (pursue discipleship), serve (be like Jesus), and share (spread the gospel). The document discusses belonging in depth, defining love as God's love for humanity. God's love is perfect, powerful, permanent and a gift demonstrated through Jesus. The church is called to show this same selfless, sacrificial love to others.
The document discusses what visitors may observe when visiting someone's home based on several Bible passages. It asks if visitors have seen signs of faith like recognition of scriptural authority, prayer, hospitality, and Bible study. It also questions if visitors have seen empty faith, vain worship, inconsistency, or hypocrisy. The document stresses that what comes from the heart is revealed through one's speech, citing a passage from Matthew.
This document discusses the brevity of life based on several Bible verses. It notes that life is limited and we cannot bring back the dead, turn back the clock, or change a heart through our own power. However, it also provides counter examples from the Bible where people were able to accomplish these things through faith, repentance, and prayer with God's help. The overall message is that while our time on Earth is brief, we can overcome life's limitations through relying on God.
Winning is the American way... We are obsessed with it, whether is our favorite sports team, political figure, war etc... You name it, as Americans if it can be dominated, we want to do it...
Unless it's us.
This mentality, however, flies in the face of the Gospel of Christ.
In Mark 8:34-36 Jesus said “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
To win, we have to lose.
The world around us does not truly understand what love means separate and apart from God. God himself is love and without that model, mankind is left to construct its own definition which falls terribly short.
When we love as God instructs and models, then we understand its true sacrificial nature, contrasted to the selfish gratification of the world's definition.
Recognition of the difference will demand one of two outcomes - To either pick up your cross and bear it or be crushed by the weight of it...
Which will YOU choose?
This sermon will deal with Mercy, Justice and the simpleness of God's Grace that is often complicated by man.
As a society that has become driven by "rights", we find ourselves among many who demand equity, equality, and rights to whatever our heart desires. The cry is often " We want what is fair - We want Justice"...We should be very, very careful, for what we demand… God may just grant us what we have demanded.
I hope you can be with us tomorrow as we unpack a small portion of this topic to better acquaint ourselves with the Justice we deserve , but the Mercy we are granted and how that should motivate us to do accordingly.
No doubt, 2016 was a rough year for many and the turning of the New Year offers hope that better days will be ahead. Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, gives us an admonition in Ephesians 5:15-20 to help us see the truth about time, and a recipe for making the most of each day by recognizing the qualifiers of what a true Good day really is.
So often, we get caught up in looking for the better days, we fail to see that sometimes the hardest of days were actually the good ones.
Holy Matrimony - Marriage wont make you happyKeith Stonehart
Our culture loves nothing more than the Hollywoods depiction of love and marriage and that the most important thing, is happiness. If Happiness being the be all to end all of the institution and if happiness cannot be achieved - then move on and simply divorce and start over ...
But , this is not what God intended.
I hope you will be us as we unpack the the bible's simple and clear message in the purpose of marriage and why happiness is NOT the priority but should be the by product of a healthy one.

This document analyzes the seven churches of Revelation: Ephesus (loveless), Smyrna (suffering), Pergamum (compromising), Thyatira (adulterous), Sardis (dead), Philadelphia (faithful), and Laodicea (lukewarm). Each church is commended or warned by Jesus, with messages about remembering their first love, being faithful in times of struggle, holding to sound teaching, and repenting from compromise. The overall message is that Jesus calls all churches to remain vigilant, prioritize their spiritual focus over popularity, and turn back to Him through repentance when needed.
Atheism is on the rise in America. There is nothing worse than living without hope , yet there are many who choose a belief system that offers no hope , no purpose , no value or meaning to the believer's life. Faith is a fragile thing. If you’re looking for reasons not to believe, they’re all around us. War. Poverty. Disease. Famine. Suffering. Tragedy.
The list goes on. .. But the faith it takes to believe in nothing is much more exhausting than the simple faith God requires ... Aren't you tired yet?
We hope to see you as we try to get to the "Heart of the Matter" regarding Atheism.
We harden ourselves to the effects of sin and call it strength , when in reality strong hands are not those that are calloused and tough , but tender and bleeding - but able to endure the pain…
True strength is found in our weakest moments.
True freedom is found between the safety of boundaries
True compassion is found in deliberate vulnerability…
What have we lost?
Racism is not new , yet abounding.
Chaos is not new , yet increasing .
Rage is not new , its as old as Genesis …
And these exist , because sin still exists and fighting sin with without Godly weapons is just warfare - but for who?
For You , and for me.
Our text paints a picture of a church; A picture which in many ways shows us why so many congregations today are in decline; a picture, not only of a church but of individual Christians who somewhere along the way allowed the mediocre to replace the best , in their spiritual lives.
We've accepted things as they , instead of how they SHOULD be.
I hope you can be with us , there will be room for you.
Come as you are , leave changed -
In 2 Chronicles 29 through chapter 31, Hezekiah reopened and cleansed the temple in Jerusalem and he invited all Israel to come to Zion, to the holy temple, to worship God.
After rededicating themselves to serving God, the people purged the land of idols.
Oh, that we would have the courage just to purge our hearts !
To purge ourselves of prejudice ,and the poison of pride !... To empty ourselves of ourselves and be filled with God and his Spirit!...
For the sake of peace , for the sake of unity , for the sake of saving the lost – what would you be willing to do?
Most of us are racist and don't even realize it , or prejudiced and don't see it , divisive or sectarian and deny it. In our rejecting to face our flaws and fix them , we reject the very Gospel that saved us!
How can we "be all things to all men" when we esteem ourselves better than others? How can we "live peaceably with ALL" when we look for bridges to burn , rather than mend? How can we possibly "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel" when we have made our world ,a small familiar circle?
If the Gospel confirmed anything other than the obvious , it confirmed that there is NO PLACE for racism , or prejudice in the Lord's body , mission, and purpose... NONE.
What have we become?
What have we let the media , politics, and FEAR do to us ,church?
Titus 2:11-12 " For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for ALL PEOPLE, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age ..."
Come join us tomorrow , and lets "Purge Our Temples" and give thanks to our mighty God that his salvation is for ALL people , EVERYWHERE.
Come as you are , leave changed...
"Breaking the Cycle of Selfishness - The Death of Me".
When I say "Me" , In part I really mean Me - I have been at times in my life very selfish and still struggle with the emptying of "self" to be full of "Christ"(Galatians 2:20) ... But , I also mean the mentality of the current generation - the "Me Generation" , or "Generation Y"...
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 says "Love is patient, and kind . It does not envy , or boast , it is not proud... It is not rude or self-seeking ,and not easily angered and keeps no record of past wrongs"
It is patient and kind - but it is not proud... It is not rude . nor selfish (self-seeking.)
Selfishness goes against everything that Jesus taught, but we are currently living in the most self-conscious society that has ever existed.
People are more concerned about themselves and their happiness than at any point in the history of our country. The promotion of homosexuality , transsexuality , the desire for Socialism , etc. expresses without question the concept that what matters most is what we "feel" , despite what is right or true.
The fact that I could be (and probably will be by some ) labeled a hateful bigot for the last sentence is just further evidence of the truth.
Looking at our society as a whole, we are seeing an entire generation - An entire culture , that puts the needs (but mostly wants )of the individual first , nor understand the concept of duty or sacrifice before self ...
The focus is all on "Me"
The Gospel of Christ then, should be "The Death of Me".
"It is not I who lives , but Christ who lives in me" - Galatians 2:20
This document discusses how growth begins when comfort ends, citing Matthew 4:19 where Jesus says "Follow me." It suggests that to grow, one must get uncomfortable, know oneself through self-reflection, and have faith even in difficult times, pointing to Bible passages that illustrate each theme.
There are 59"one anothers" in the bible. I think God is trying to tell us something.
God believes in community , because he is a community unto himself.
"The Unsaved" and the conversation that so many never get to have .
We live in dangerous times. Because of that , the excuses we make for not having the "uncomfortable"conversation simply can not exist anymore. Unsaved people are dying DAILY... and while we can not stop the cause of it , we can share the only truth about the result of it and where you can be , if you choose it.
Yes , Heaven is real , because GOD is real ... So it MATTERS.
It never fails to humor me the lengths that some in our country will go to in order to pin Christians as hateful and bigoted people ,when in fact , we are the complete opposite. This tactic has done wonders for diminishing the desire to share the Gospel of Christ with the Unsaved and lost , due to fear of being accused of such untruths.
No more.
The only truly evil we CAN do , is say nothing of Jesus Christ and him crucified , so that one can continue in their sin ,unbothered.
Yes , it is a free country... But freedom is not the RIGHT to do whatever you wish , but that have the freedom to do that which is RIGHT.
The document discusses how the gospel message is meant to offend those who are prideful and stubborn. It provides biblical examples of when the early Christians preached tough messages that offended and cut people to the heart, making them question their actions. The gospel exposes our selfishness and faults to purify and transform us. Though the truth offends some, Christians must continue preaching it regardless, as it also saves and enlightens others.
No doubt , this is and always has been a controversial topic. One perspective says we should be led by our hearts and feelings and the other says to trust our brains and logical choices. What I think we tend to miss , is the answer is neither one alone - but the perfect union of the head and the heart together- this is where your soul lives - right in the middle of you.
In David’s great psalm of repentance after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba, Psalm 51, he continually calls for God to return and awaken emotion within him.
He prays, “Let me hear joy and gladness. … Restore to me the joy of your salvation.”
Part of repentance is returning to a delight in the Lord; it is also mourning the places we have grieved Him.
Grieving , mourning and delight are the emotional part of repentance – turning away from sin and doing something else , something better - That is the decision part.
For the most part , it's impossible to separate how we “feel” about something and what we “choose “to do about it... But understanding the difference is what the wisdom of God's word provides , because he never intended for us to live life"Numb" .
If you've lost your "joy" ,he is the only one who can restore it
God's law was given out of his love for us ...Our response to love is to obey it. Clearly , the bible is not about law,but love... Too have painted Gods love into a box labeled law , but we are not to be lawyers , but lovers. Lawyers look for loopholes , lovers look for opportunities .
Which will you be?

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

6. Complicated
• God made Love the Law of his Kingdom !
– James 2:8 “If you fulfill the royal law according to
scripture , You shall love your neighbor as
yourself”
– 1 John 3:11 “ This message you have heard from
the beginning : We should love one another”
– Romans 13:8 “ Owe no one anything except to
love one another , for he who loves another fulfills
the law”
7. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in
my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide
in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments
and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you,
that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as
I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that
someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my
friends if you do what I command you.
8. Complicated
• Reason 1
– Love is not something that happens to us.
– Love is something we DO. (John 3:16)
– God doesn’t command emotions
– God commands action (1 John 3:16-19)
9. 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for
tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we
know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes,
the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I
thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave
up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to
face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been
fully known.
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of
these is love.
10. Complicated
• Reason 2
– Love is not natural to us , we are taught
– Love is by Gods definition sacrificial and
unconditional ( John 14:15 , 1 John 3:16 )
• Love causes pain , we naturally avoid pain
• Love requires sacrifice , we naturally avoid sacrifice
• Love requires commitment , we naturally fear
commitment
11. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control;
against such things there is no law.
12. 5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual
immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness,
which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is
coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were
living in them. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger,
wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9
Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the
old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self,
which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its
creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and
uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is
all, and in all.
