The United States has no official language.
English is spoken by the overwhelming majority of Americans.
Spanish is the second-most spoken language in the US after English.
At least 350 languages are spoken in the US today.
Spoken American English dialects are highly mutually intelligible, but there are
still several recognizable regional and ethnic accents and lexical distinctions.

4. Islam in the 3rd largest religion in the United States behind
Christianity and Judaism.
A 2017 study estimated that 3.45 million Muslims were
living in the United States, about 1.1 percent of the total U.S.
population.
In 2017, 20 states which were mostly in the South and
Midwest reported Islam being the largest non-Christian
religion.
In 2020, the U.S. Religion Census found there to be 4.45
million Muslims in the country, making up 1.3% of the
population.

Many US universities are committed to
campus communities that celebrate
diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially
LGBTQIA students and staff. LGBTQIA
students can feel comfortable and
supported on campus because when you
are able to be your whole self, you thrive.
