Keyvi is a key value index built using finite state machines, making it an immutable key value store. It was developed as a drop-in replacement for Redis to serve as the backend search index for Cliqz, allowing them to reduce data size and machine requirements. Keyvi provides faster performance than Redis through its single-threaded, shared memory model and ability to perform auto-complete matching, approximate matching, and scoring-based matching through techniques like Levenshtein distance.

Using JPA applications in the era of NoSQL: Introducing Hibernate OGM
Sanne Grinovero presented on Hibernate Object/Grid Mapper (OGM), which provides an object-oriented interface for NoSQL databases using JPA. OGM stores entities as serialized tuples and uses Lucene/Hibernate Search for querying. It reuses Hibernate Core and is targeted at Infinispan but also works with other NoSQL databases. The goals are to encourage new data usage patterns with a familiar programming model and ease of use while pushing NoSQL exploration in enterprises.

Abstract: A PaaS offering typically facilitates application deployment without the cost and complexity of managing infrastructure, by providing all of the facilities required to build and deliver services.
Current Java EE deployment models assume that the deployer provisions the various dependent services of an application. To support PaaS deployment scenarios, GlassFish is working to provide a simplified application provisioning and deployment interface to users, with the runtime handling the discovery of service dependencies, provisioning services, and associating service references with these services.
This session details how Java EE containers such as GlassFish can provide such service orchestration capabilities to PaaS application deployers.

Terp queries can be translated to standard SPARQL for execution. The Terp syntax has been implemented in the Pellet reasoner and provides a simpler way to write queries over OWL ontologies compared to using only SPARQL.
PelletDb: Scalable Reasoning for Enterprise Semantics
PelletDb is a new semantic reasoner that combines the expressive OWL 2 reasoning capabilities of Clark & Parsia's Pellet reasoner with the scalability of Oracle Database's semantic technologies. PelletDb operates in two modes - a max expressivity mode that performs full reasoning using Pellet, and a max scalability mode that offloads data storage and bulk of reasoning to Oracle for performance. It provides benefits like more complete query answers, support for advanced reasoning services, and access to Oracle's enterprise features for Pellet users, as well as a more expressive reasoner for Oracle customers. Future roadmap includes using OWL for database integrity constraints and creating a semantic facade over existing data sources.

Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
