Pediatric blood sampling techniques include arterial puncture, venipuncture, and capillary puncture. For arterial puncture, the brachial and femoral arteries should not be preferred and the artery must be properly located before taking a sample. Venipuncture is performed when a large blood sample is needed and the vein must be properly located. Capillary puncture is used for blood sampling from infants by properly locating the area.
