Behavioral economics has exploded over the last couple of years and market researchers have to begun to explore how it can be used in their work. But is it new or just new to you? This presentation outlines the growth of BE over the last 300 years and also describes some classic psychology experiments over the last 100 years. Moral of the story? If you just heard about a new theory of research, don't conduct research from scratch. Check what's already been done over the last few centuries!

What are ways to talk about identity, difference, and justice in age appropriate ways? How do you reinforce school values without shutting down perspectives? How do you facilitate authentic and respectful dialogue across difference? Engage in these questions and more through this interactive session.

Presenter: Justin Senseney- Senior Computer Scientist, NIST
Description:Stacki was used to upgrade a high performance computing (HPC) cluster at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD. A 1,200 node CentOS5 Maui/Torque cluster was upgraded to CentOS7 with a slurm queuing system. This presentation will show the application of Stacki to this HPC cluster and contrast previous methods used for provisioning. Stacki carts and pallets are used to provision role-based servers. Ideas are presented that would make it easier for multiple clusters to be managed. Any mention of commercial products, including Stacki, within this presentation is for information only; it does not imply recommendation or endorsement by NIST.

#HEWEB18 - Using an Instagram Story to Help Sexual Assault SurvivorsJon McBride
BYU found some important pieces of data in its campus climate survey: 1. Survivors of sexual assault first turn to friends and roommates. 2. Friends and roommates felt ill equipped to help. 3. Friends and roommates wanted to help. So we created an Instagram story directed to the entire student body, coaching them on what to say, how to help and what specific resources to point their friends and roommates to, if they come to them for support after an assault.
This presentation was given at the Engage Conference in Portland, OR on March 9, 2017.
Want to inspire your community? Make it about them and not you. The content, experience, should be about what is important to them. Your community has tons of ideas, needs, wants, etc. Put yourself in their shoes, and your content becomes easier to create.

Many experts are calling the 2016 presidential the most important election of our lifetime. The future of the Supreme Court, the Affordable Care Act, foreign policy, the environment and inequality reform are a few important issues that will be directly impacted by the outcome of this election.
The upcoming election also sets the stage for history as only 9% of America chose Trump and Clinton as the nominees (*www.nytimes.com). Furthermore, a
Washington Post – ABC News poll shows that both Trump and Clinton are the most disliked candidates to make it to the top of a major party ticket in the past 10 presidential cycles (* www.fivethirtyeight.com)
Here at Peanut Labs, we wanted to see if the low favorability of both nominees would change the voting habits of Americans.

How Non-native English Speakers Respond to English SurveysPeanut Labs
We like to think that everyone answering our surveys is perfectly fluent in English but let's be realistic. About 10% of Americans have difficulty reading/writing in English because it is not their native language. And when we apply standard techniques to identify which survey takers provide good data and which are simply giving random answers, we are often making the mistake of applying measurements that all require high level language skills.

Our unique methodology and strategic relationships with over 400 website publishers, social media communities and global partners, bridges the gap between online consumers who want to share their opinions and market researchers who want to hear their opinions.
