The Kuratsa is a traditional Filipino folk dance that depicts the courtship between a rooster and hen. It originated in the Visayan region and is performed at weddings and festivals. The dance has three parts with differing rhythms: a waltz, a faster chasing section, and a final flirtatious scene. Though originally accompanied by live brass bands, it is now often set to recorded compilations of traditional Kuratsa music. The costumes worn are typical Filipino attire of the region like the patadyong skirt and camisa shirt.
