(Personal Development, Health and
                Physical Education)
 PDHPE empowers all students with the knowledge
and skills for sustained long-life physical activity
as a foundation for healthy and productive lives.

 PDHPE is an exciting, fun and crucial subject in
primary schools as it offers students to be
educated by teachers who in turn help the
understand the importance of being healthy and
    active.

 The PDHPE curriculum has the potential to be
integrated with other subjects such as ICT,
Numeracy and Literacy which increases their
    knowledge in all areas.
 My goals in teaching PDHPE are to provide a
learning environment that supports the physical,
emotional, spiritual and social growth of the
    students.

 I believe that all students have the ability to
learn and that all students deserve to be
immersed in an environment that encourages
    individual growth.

 Thus, I want to inspire in my students the ability
to do their very best and to make them believe in
    themselves, whilst developing their confidence.
 PDHPE should be taught because it has a number
of crucial skills that are essential throughout a
students lifetime. These skills include problem
    solving, communication, decision-making, interacting
    and moving.

 The benefits of PDHPE include:
 Physical- increased motor skills, movement
    patterns and growth and development.
 Mental- increased self-esteem, personal identity
and recognition of good values and attitudes.
 Social –greater teamwork, cooperation,
    interpersonal skills and positive peer-relationships.
 PDHPE teaches students to become more aware
of and how to tackle the following topics and
    issues:
     Road safety
     Nutrition
     Peer-relationships
     Personal Identity
     Obesity
     Health Issues
     Sex Education
     Drug Abuse
