Veterinarians study and treat animal diseases and injuries using medicine. Some veterinarians work in veterinary clinics treating domestic pets. Others work in zoos caring for wild animals. Still others work on farms caring for domestic animals. Veterinarians use stethoscopes to listen to hearts, surgical tools to open areas of the body, gloves to avoid getting blood on their hands, syringes to administer vaccines, and forceps to grab things inside animal stomachs.
