This document provides information on the forms and uses of the past simple and past continuous tenses in English. It lists the affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms of regular and irregular verbs for the past simple as well as the past continuous. Examples are given for each. It also explains that the past simple is used for shorter actions while the past continuous is used for ongoing or longer actions happening at the same time, and provides examples using "when" and "while" to connect clauses in each tense.
