Paris is located along the Seine River in north central France. Some of its most famous landmarks include the Eiffel Tower, an iron structure built for the 1889 World's Fair; Notre Dame Cathedral, a Gothic church completed in 1253; and the Louvre museum, formerly a Renaissance palace that now houses artwork.

7. The Louvre Art Museum
The Louvre was once a palace of the Renaissance Era , but once the great Palace of
Versailles was completed, the Louvre was given to the artists and became a museum.
The glass pyramid was completed in 1984.

8. The Musee D’Orsee
This museum was once an old train station transformed into
an art museum. It was also the inspiration for the movie HUGO.
This building is host to mostly impressionist paintings.
