Without effective behaviour management, a positive and productive classroom environment is impossible to achieve. Finding the most effective techniques for producing behaviour change and preventing the development of classroom discipline problems is a moderately stressful part of the professional lives of many teachers, and a major reason for job dissatisfaction. The need for confidence regarding the impact of particular strategies is important to teachers given that the ability to manage students effectively is a critical component of their sense of professional identity.
This presentation focuses on the results of attempts to introduce the Developmental Management approach into all schools in the Northern Metropolitan Region of Victoria, Australia, as part of the 'train the trainer', AiZ project. The rationale underlying the 15 recommendations for teacher behaviour implicit in the DMA are highlighted and examples of schools' attempts to introduce elements of the DMA into primary and secondary classrooms are discussed.

It takes an effort in getting Parents and the Community to be involved in the education process of
students. One would say that it doesn’t come easy. In order, to have Parent and Community involvement
in the school setting to be effective, a plan is needed by the school staff to help develop positive
relationships and maintain the relationship that has been built. By having a good parent and community
relationship can make for a more enjoyable and pleasant educational and school experience for all that are
involved.
Plan Philosophy
The plan is built off the philosophy that it takes more than just one to help ensure the success of a
student but it takes a village to ensure the success of a student. For a child’s education can be influenced
by the involvement of parents and community which plays an important role in that success. As
educators, it is important that we recognize that parents play an important role in their child’s education
development and that they are a valuable resource to teachers too. This plan is created to help develop
and mold a positive relationship and involvement between parents, school, and community. With the
forming of a positive relationship it will help benefit students and families.
Aims/Goals of the Plan
The development of this plan is intended to help establish an effective positive relationship
between parents, schools and community and community organizations within the community. By
providing parents with the support through parental trainings, workshops, service learning activities and
support for students, and the establishing of the lines of communication between parents and school. This
can be possible. In order, for my plan to work the involvement of staff, parents and community members
will be needed. "Teachers, counselors, principals, health techs, school secretaries, or any other willing
staff members can fill the community outreach school coordinator role." (Hjalmarson, pg. 117). This will
be the start of a community that will be created to help keep the focus of parent and community
involvement and the increase of that involvement.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

10. What’s the outcome?
Planning a wide variety of school or classroom
activities or events will invite the parents to
participate more and make them feel like they
are welcome.
11. Once we get the parents to feel welcome, doors
are opened to more success. The doors of
students succeeding academically are opened
more because parents want to help in various
ways. There is no longer a barrier between
parent and school, but a bridge, which is a two
way communication.
